Miss Gadget Gears - SS#52

Happy Sunday!

So glad you could pop by today and visit me!  I have a card today for PaperWorksCo Sunday Sketch #52.  This is already my last sketch for September ... wow, those Sundays sure went by fast!

So this is SS#52 this week.  I had the idea for my card come to me whilst I was going to sleep one night ... isn't it funny when and where we get our inspiration!!  It's a good thing I remembered it in the morning!   I wanted to use the gadget gears die cut by Tim Holtz and thought it would work for this sketch.  I've also used quite pastel and feminine colours as I wanted to show that robots are not just all about boys but also work beautifully for girl cards!

The oval is embossed with the new robot embossing folder set from cuttlebug and the back panel is punched using a new MS 'Bubble Bath' punch around the page set.  The dp is from Cosmo Cricket 'Cogsmo'.  Peppy Tinheart is coloured with copics and I cut her out.  I punched a flower using the small retro flower punch and adhered it with a piece of silver wire.

I hope you're able to pop on over to PaperWorksCo blog and check out the sketch in more detail and don't forget if you enter your sketch you are up for a chance of designing for the following week and also receiving a small gift from Peggy's store!

It was great seeing you here today ... I hope I get some time to blog hop a little later.  I still have some more organising and cleaning to do before my folks arrive!  Enjoy your Sunday whatever you're doing!

Ballerina Tilda 2 drawer easel card!

Hi there!

I just wanted to share a girly project with you that I gifted my next door neighbour for her 11th birthday.  I have been wanting to try this idea for a little while now and I knew I had to use Ballerina Tilda.  I followed the basic idea for the box over at SCS here.  I customised the measurements to fit my square card.  Tilda is coloured with copics.  I threaded pink ribbon to mimic her ballet shoe ribbons and added lots of flowers, sparkle and pearls.  The paper I believe is DCWV.  The drawer handles are Tim Holtz's hitch fasteners - love these!!  I am entering this card/project into Charisma Cardz Challenge  and A Spoonfull of Sugar this week where they both have the challenge 'Anything Goes'.

Here's a close-up of the main image.

The sentiment is from The Stamp Barn - isn't it gorgeous!

A quick update with regards to my son - he had blood work done to test for an overactive thyroid as he is currently suffering from hair loss (he is only 8).  Thankfully his blood is perfectly normal and there are no thyroid issues which is fantastic news and we're now on anti-fungal cream for his balding patches.  Hopefully that will work before it gets any worse.  Phew, it's been a rough ride for him the last little while so I really hope and pray things start settling down.  Thanks for all your concerned comments ... they really mean a lot to me.

Well, that's all for today friends.  I hope you enjoyed my very 'pink' project!  I always appreciate your visit and your comments so thank you as always!

Take care,
Danielle x

Winter Wonderland - Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly ....

I bet I have you singing the song now, don't I??  Don't worry, I was singing it to myself the whole time I was creating this card, LOL!!!

So I guess you know what the theme is at Winter Wonderland this week - yep, that's right - Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly and use lots of red and green in your project!  I've done another card that is fairly out of my usual style but I have to say I love the way it turned out.  I created a grid background which is this weeks challenge over at Stamptacular Sunday.  The gorgeous holly stamp and sentiment is from Inkadinkado.  The swirls are TH flourishes and die cut on gorgeous glitter cardstock.  I added the green rhinestones as a final touch of bling.

This week we're sponsored by Simon Says Stamp and you could be in for a chance to win a $15 shopping spree - now who wouldn't want that!  The rest of the DT have done some gorgeous projects to get the creative juices flowing.  And as a reminder, next week we're already beginning our first week of October - wow, those weeks sure are rolling in quick aren't they!  Hopefully you can pop over and join in with our challenge this week, we'd love to see you there!

Well, that's it from me.  I have a busy weekend ahead with cleaning, organising and getting prepped for the arrival of my family from Jersey (Channel Islands).  The boys are getting super excited that their nana & papa and uncle are arriving and have been counting down those sleeps!  I managed to clean up my craft room today to make room for my mom so we can get crafty together .... now that is something I can't wait to do!!

Thanks for your visit and I truly appreciate you have stopped by and taking the time to leave me a comment.  I love to read what you have to say and I will try and return the favour if time allows today.  I'm off to the doctor with Joel today to get the results of some blood work - hopefully it will give us some much needed answers!

Take care and enjoy your Friday!

Sapphire & Silver Wedding

Hi there!

Hope you're all keeping well ... I've got a rather wicked headache this morning so will make this a quick post!

I was asked to make a wedding card with the colours sapphire and silver.  This is what I've done using the beautiful Magnolia couple (image very kindly sent to me from Andrea - thanks sweetie).  I used a doily again and embossed the back panel.  The image is coloured with my copics and the silver swirl is using the Tim Holtz die cut.  Bling and some silver ribbon with a pearl slider (Wild Orchid Crafts) finish the card off.

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit today .... it's not very pleasant outside today so if I can get rid of this headache I hope to do a spot of cardmaking!  Thanks for any comments you leave ... I really do appreciate them a lot!

SS#51 - Make Extraordinary Memories ...

Hello!

I have my DT card again today for the Sunday Sketch challenge over at PaperWorksCo.  I decided to go with something very different and away from my normal style.  These gorgeous papers by Cosmo Cricket (Earth Love) landed on my doorstep from Peggy and with the Fall sason now upon us I wanted to go with something very 'earthy' and 'rustic'.

This weeks sketch really lends itself to using a sentiment as a focal point so that is what I decided to do.  Instead of using the sentiment off to the side that is where I decided to add my 'embellishments'.  I added some distressing to the paper edges to add more of the rustic feel and inked the sentiment up on brown Rich Cocoa Memento ink.  The back panel is embossed with one of the new cuttlebugs polka dot folders - love this one - it's very different from the Swiss Dots.  Chocolate brown ribbon, buttons and some twine complete the card.

Hope you're able to participate in this weeks Sunday Sketch and pop over to PaperWorksCo blog to see all the latest happenings.  Thanks for your visit today - I always appreciate you coming by and taking the time to leave me a comment - I love to read them all!

Take care,
Danielle x

Newly released Rachelle Anne Miller images for PWCO

Hi there!

Lots of fun was had at the Fall release party last night and the excitment over sharing RAM's new gorgeous images was overflowing!  So here I have for you the two projects that I worked on.  The first one, Sugar & Spice, is for all those bakers out there ... aren't they just the cutest!  I tried a technique that I've never done before - colouring in grey tones and then one pop of colour in the image (the pumpkin).  Wow - whoever would have guessed colouring in greys could be so much fun!  If you haven't tried this then you really should ... copics have just taken on a whole different role!  The rest of the card is pretty clean and simple - the border punch is a new MS one 'Bubble Bath'.

This second project uses the image 'The Pumpkin Patch' - these kids have to be the cutest ones ever!  Again, coloured with copics I put together a very simple 3x3 card and made an acetate treat box filled with chocolate eye-balls and stickers!  I placed the sentiment 'You're too cute to spook' on the box.  The box tutorial can be found over on Splitcoaststampers.

A close-up of the coloured image and treat box

Well, that's it for today.  I really loved making these projects and if you love the new images why don't you pop on over to PWCO here where Peggy has a special 'Want it All' offer of 10% off for a bundle package.  Thanks so much for stopping by and your visit.  I'll be back tomorrow with my Sunday Sketch ... what can I say other than it's not my regular style but I love it!  Mmm, think you'll need to come back tomorrow to see what I'm talking about!

We have glorious sunshine here today albeit a little chilly ... hope you have beautiful weather wherever you are!

Winter Wonderland - Monochromatic Card

Hi there!

So glad to see you here today and that you're able to come by for a visit!  It has been another stressful week with my middle son getting sick with strep throat - not even 2 wks of school and the kids are getting sick!  Oh boy, I hope this isn't a sign of things to come ....

Anyways, here's my DT card for Winter Wonderland where Kate has challenged us all this week to create a Monochromatic card.  I chose blues to work with and this gorgeous Bo Bunny sparkly paper!  I haven't inked up this Tilda in a while and that I'd use her holding a snowflake with this beautiful sentiment from Verve.  I followed the sketch from Cupcake Craft challenges.  She is of course coloured with my trusty copics.

This week the challenge is sponsored by Delicious Doodles so we hope you're able to join in with the fun!  The rest of the DT have offered up some amazing inspiration so be sure to pop on over and take a peek!

Thanks for your visit today - I still haven't managed to get back fully into my blogging routine yet.  Life keeps putting obstacles in my way but I will try and pop around today or in the next few days if possible!  I hope you all enjoy a beautiful Friday and start to the weekend!

Reeling in ....

Hi!

So glad you could stop by today - I have my card for the PaperWorksCo Sunday Sketch #50 (wow -we're already at 50!!).

This weeks sketch is a really fun one to play with and I decided to ink up this RAM beauty.  I coloured with my copics and pulled my colour choices from the gorgeous paper.  It's not often I work with a blue & green colour combo but I have to say I really love it!  I have kept this card with very simple clean lines today and kept the image as the main focal point.

The border is punched with a Fiskars punch and the flower is a medium retro flower punch run through the swiss dots embossing folder.

I hope you all enjoy your Sunday and if you get some time, pop on over and join in with the sketch challenge this week!  Thanks again for stopping by and leaving any comments - they are always very much appreciated!

Winter Wonderland - A One Layer Card!

Good morning!

Firstly, apologies for my absence this week.  I thought my routine would get back on track and it has, it just hasn't left me a lot of time for crafting!  I'm back in the gym pretty much every morning for an hour workout and it feels GREAT!  And before I know it my little guy is coming home from Kindergarten!  I did manage to craft yesterday but it is all DT work that you'll just have to wait a little longer to see ....but trust me, the wait will be so worth it!

Anyways, today I have my card for the challenge I'm hosting over at Winter Wonderland this week - A One Layer Card.  This involves essentially a clean and simple card - no embellishments that will bump the card up into the next mailing cost.  So this is the card I've done - a beautiful deer image from The Stamp Barn and a silver heat embossed PEACE.  Very simple but I love the look.  I used silver paper to punch star borders for either side of the image.

I hope you're able to pop on over to the blog and join in with my challenge this week.  We're sponsored by The Stamp Barn and their prize is on the blog so go take a peek!  As well, the rest of the DT have provided amazing inspiration for this challenge too!

Well, that's it for today!  I have a few things on my 'to do' list so hopefully some crafty time can get put in somewhere.  Also, I will try and make it round to your blogs and catch up on my commenting.  Phew, I feel like I'm running aound in circles constantly trying to catch my tail ... do you ever feel like that??

Thanks for visiting and any comments you may leave - they always make my day so thank you for taking the time to leave one!

Hippo Sunday - PaperWorksCo Sunday Sketch #49

Hi everyone!

Welcome to my first Sunday Sketch posting for PaperWorksCo - you will find me allocated to Sundays for the month of September playing along with the Sunday Sketches!

This is todays sketch and I decided to ink up Harriett the Hippo again .... I just love how versatile Harriett is and how good she looks in any colour!  These gorgeous papers are from 3 Bugs in a Rug - aren't they delish!  Harriett is coloured with copics and I used the deckled rectangles to cut out the panel around her.  That is then mounted on a nesties oval.  I used crystal stickles to highlight the edges of the oval and add a subtle sprinkling of sparkle!  I punched a panel using my MS grass punch ... my idea behind this is I wanted to create the feel of Harriett being in a field of wild flowers!  Do you think it worked?  The flowers are punched using my retro flower punch and then a cranberry dew drop for their centers.

I hope you like my take on this weeks sketch and even more that you're able to join in .... you know, if you join in you are automatically in the running to be chosen for the guest designer spot the following week!

Thanks for your visit today .... after tomorrow the boys are back at school so I plan on enjoying these last couple of days with them.  My schedule will then get somewhat back to normal I hope so I can resume my blog hopping and commenting on a more regular basis!  Until then ... take care and thanks again for any comments you leave!  I love reading them all!

Winter Wonderland - A Recipe to Follow...

Hi there!

Great to see you here again where I have my Friday posting for the Winter Wonderland challenge blog.  This week my fab teamie Marianne has given us a recipe challenge - Four papers, 3 snowflakes, 1 snowman/woman.  How fun is that combo!

I inked up my favourite Magnolia snowman, Snowy, with his sparkly snowflake in hand.  I just love this image ... it makes me smile every time I look at it!  I coloured with copics and kept the palette very simple.  Papers are from a christmas block in my stash.  I just love these blue & teal colours.  My four papers are 2 designer papers and two plain cardstock colours.  I added tons of stickles to this card so it really sparkles in real life!  Snowflakes are from stash and the circle sentiment in SU!

I followed the sketch from this weeks Truly Scrumptious challenge so I will also add my card in there too.

Well, I sure hope you're able to stop by the Winter Wonderland blog and check out my fellow DT's gorgeous creations - they truly do inspire and get time to join in with the challenge this week!  We are being sponsored by 'I Did It Creations' this week so another great prize up for grabs!

Thanks for stopping by for a visit - I really do appreciate the time you take to leave me a comment!  I'm off to do some last minute school supply shopping and get myself and the boys prepared so we can enjoy a beautiful Labour Day weekend.  Hubby is off to Korea & Bangkok on Sunday so I foresee some 'free' stamping time in my immediate future!!!

Have a fabulous day and enjoy the beginning of the weekend!  I'll be posting a card on Sunday for my PaperWorksCo DT where I'll be participating in the Sunday Sketches!  Hope you'll be able to pop by ...

Until then ....

Hugs,
Danielle x
