Blue Monkeys

Good Monday morning to you!

I have a little something to share with you today ..... a card made by my 20yr old goddaughter, Lisa.  She has been visiting with me and yesterday we got to have some crafty time together!  Lisa is studying 3D Design at Portsmouth University so loves to get crafty and with the rainy weather we had yesterday it was a perfect opportunity to sit down together and stamp.

Lisa hasn't stamped or made a card before so this was a new experience for her.  She chose this super cute Changito image and the wacky girl that she is, coloured her monkeys blue!  She followed the sketch over at Sketch Saturday so I will enter this card over at that challenge and I believe it also follows the Colour Create challenge this week which is Ivory, Duck Egg blue and one other colour.  The image is coloured with distress inks and flowers and papers are from stash.

Hope you like it - I will have my regular PaperWorksCo post up tomorrow for my Free for All project - hope you can come back and pay me another visit!

Take care and thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments - they are always so much appreciated!

Winter Wonderland - No DP Challenge!

Good Friday morning all!

I hope you are all well - unfortunately I had a bit of an accident yesterday and I think I've broken my little toe!!  Aside from the swelling and bruising it's doing ok but it's a good reason to sit down and maybe get some crafting done!

Anyways, onto todays Winter Wonderland challenge which is hosted by me this week!  'No DP' is the challenge so it'll be a perfect chance to see those beautiful background stamps, embossing etc.  We're sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs and the winner will get to choose 4 digi stamps of their choice!  Unfortunately I wasn't able to use one of their images on my card as my printer has been having issues this week!!  But the rest of the DT have so please make sure you pop on over and check them out - they're super duper!

I've used a trusty Tilda (she was already inked and coloured in my stash) and I've followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday this week.  The background is embossed using a Sizzix plate.  The circle sentiment is from SU! and the snowflakes are an MS punch.

Well, I'm keeping it short and sweet today.  My eldest turns 12 tomorrow and he's very worried that my foot is not going to be better to do stuff with him so on that note I had better rest up and ice it again!!

Thanks for your visit today - it is hugely appreciated and I hope you're able to join in with our Winter Wonderland challenge this week!  Take care and thanks for any comments you may leave!

Winter Wonderland - A 'Strawberries & Cream' Christmas!

Hi there!

I hope you are all well!  Another Friday and the first of the summer - my boys finished school yesterday and now have 10 wks off, eeek!  Let's just say I'm praying hard for sibling 'bliss' over the holidays!

Anyways, onto the card for the day.  It's another Winter Wonderland challenge and this week we're presenting the theme 'Strawberries & Cream'.  You can interpret as you like but of course with a 'christmas' theme to it.  I've opted for the colour combo and kept my card red & cream.  I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday this week.  I decided on a quick and easy card and instead of a coloured image used this fabulous NOEL stamp inked in black.  The papers are October Afternoon and I used the snowflakes embossing folder too.

I'm also entering this card into 'Truly Scrumptious' where the theme is Strawberries & Cream and also Cupcake Craft Challenges.

Well, thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a wonderful Friday and a fabulous start to the weekend!  I appreciate every comment you leave for me - I love reading them and they really do brighten up my day!

Take care,

Winter Wonderland - Love at Christmas!

Happy Friday!
Wow - another week gone and here we are in June already!  Time is just flying by and I have to say making a Christmas card a week is going great and my pile is growing very nicely!
So today Marianne is challenging us to 'Love at Christmas' this week over at Winter Wonderland.  I haven't coloured up any Magnolias in a little while so thought I would pull out this gorgeous image of Tilda with the mistletoe.  I went with a non-traditional Christmas color combo of pink & green and I really like it!  I've also followed the sketch from this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge.  I've coloured with copics and used papers from my stash.  The punched border is MS and ribbon & lace is also from stash.  The pearl hat pin was from a candy win from Bev.  I computer generated the sentiment myself and punched each one out with a small circle punch.
I hope you're able to join us over at Winter Wonderland for this weeks challenge.  We have a fabulous prize offered up by Whimsy Stamps and the DT have certainly provided beautiful inspiration for everyone!
Thanks for your visit today and I am slowly catching up with my commenting.  I hope you're able to leave me a comment - I love to read every one and I appreciate them all so much!
Wishing you all a wonderful day and a great start to the weekend!

Wishing you Sunshine!!

I'm loving the challenges out and about in blogland this week and also have been blessed with some of the new Magnolia Easter Collection images - what more could a girl want?? LOL
I have loved this sweet Tilda with Bike since she was released last summer.  I have coloured her with my copics and played around with some of the new pinks I just added to my collection. The open fence is a new release image and also coloured with my copics.  I have followed the sketch from this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge - it was a really fun one to play with!  The papers are from MME Pretty Please - talk about yummy!!  I disressed the edges of the image with Stormy Sky & Tumbled Glass Distress Inks.  Stickles have been added to some of the magnolia flower centers.  Sentiment is from The Stamp Barn and cut with a nesties label die.  The small retro flower punch was used for the little flowers with adhesive pearls for the centers.  Grosgrain ribbon is from stash.

I'm also entering this into these other challenges:-

Cupcake Craft Challenges - 'Childhood Memories'
Sketch Saturday - Sketch
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - 'Create a Scene'
The Stamp Shoppe - 'Spring' (card #2)

Thanks for stopping by today - I love to have you visit and thank you so much for your lovely comments!  They are always so much appreciated!

Winter Birthday Wishes

Hi there!
Great to see you here and I hope you like what I've posted up today. I have managed to include a few challenges on this one card - MDUC for 'Stamp with Another Use', Sketch Saturday for the sketch layout and Stamp with Fun which is to use snowflakes. Woohoo - 3 challenges with 1 card - way to go!
So I inked up this gorgeous Tilda from the new So Jolly Christmas Collection. I thought it make a perfect winter birthday card - I'm sending it off to my goddaughter who turns 13 (tomorrow actually, so I guess it'll be late, oops). I coloured with my copics and pretty much followed the colour scheme of the paper I chose to work with. The snowflakes are MS punch and the sentiment is from The Stamp Barn.
I hope you're all enjoying a fabulous day. We have beautiful blue skies and sunshine here today but it still remains very chilly (-21oc with the wind chill, bbbrrrr). Thanks for popping over for a visit today - you are always so very welcome and I thank you for the comments you leave!

Cute Card Thursday - Glitter me Silly!

Happy Tuesday!
I have a non-christmas card for you today! My sweet friend stamped me out some gorgeous new images of hers from Stamping Bella and I just love this sweetie!! Isn't she cute! I coloured her with my copics and added lots of stickles to her dress. The paper is from October Afternoon and I zig-zag sewed around the edges for added detail. I've used the layout from Sketch Saturday this week and all the sparkle and glitter is for Cute Card Thursday. I was in Michaels on Saturday and was overjoyed to find the MS Lace Heart Punch - I did a happy dance right there in the store (much to the amusement of my shopping buddy!!!). I have been after this punch for soooooo long - I'm still grinning with excitement over it, lol!! The sentiment is SU! I distressed the stark white cardstock with Tea Dye distress ink too. Lot of stickles, glimmer mist and glamour dust on the hydrangea flowers add the element of 'glitter me silly'!! A black organza bow and a red adhesive pearl add the finishing touches!
The Stamp Shoppe have introduced their new DT members and I have to admit to being a little disappointed at not being picked :( It does, however, mean that I have some extra cards up my sleeve to show you this week!
Well, that's it folks! Thanks for stopping by for a visit today - you are always so welcome and appreciated! And thanks for leaving a comment - I love hearing from you!
Take care & hugs,

Sketch Saturday - Cupcake Passion!

Hello!
Today I'm posting my DT card for The Paper Passion this week.  I received this fabulous Unity stamp with 4 cupcake designs - talk about FUN!!!  I focused on just one of the images and used this fabulous sketch layout from the Sketch Saturday challenge blog.  With so much layering to the sketch I wanted to keep the image a simple focal point.  I stamped and trimmed the image twice and coloured with my copics.  I then trimmed out the icing from the second image and popped it up with dimensionals.  I used my Dimensional Magic (Crystal Lacquer) to create the glaze on the icing.  Once it had dried I used my pink Stickles to add some sparkle.
The papers are LYB 'Love Letters' as well as plain beige, white and hot pink cardstock.  The sentiment is from The Stamp Barn and the polka dot organza ribbon is from The Paper Passion. Three plain dewdrops in the top left hand corner complete the layout.  Here's a close up of the glaze I used for the icing look.
Thanks for stopping by - I love all your visits and reading your comments - thank you!!!  Be sure to pop on over to The Paper Passion blog and check out all the new and exciting events coming up.  We have a fabulous online crop planned for the first weekend in May to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day - loads of prizes and challenges to be had!!
Have a great day!
Hugs,
Danielle x
