Delight in the Little Things!

Hello friends!

I have my final Free For All posting today for PaperWorksCo.  This week you'll begin to see the debut projects of the new DT for the coming term and I'm thrilled to say that I was asked to stay on for another term and am delighted to continue working with Peggy.

So I created this sweet gift bag card ... I don't know any official name for it so that's what I'm calling it!  LOL  I used the gorgeous decorated Kraft paper from Jillibean Soup and the Cosmo Cricket 'Garden Variety' papers.  The image is A Day in the Life of Abigail C ... 'Garden Fresh'.  I coloured with copics and matted the image with the circle nesties.  The sentiment is one I found recently in the $1.50 bin at Michaels ... isn't it lovely!  And what a great reminder to always 'delight in the little things'!!

Here's a picture of the card open and you'll see how the gift bag unfolds inside.

Another view of the inside.  I used a velcro dot to adhere the image circle down to the main panel of the card to keep it closed.  I will now probably stuff the bag with seed packets and keep it as a gift.  Maybe I'll use it as a teacher gift too!

Thanks for stopping in and if you haven't joined the Winter Wonderland blog hop you may want to and at the same time join in with my little candy that I have on offer!  You'll find my card and candy in the previous post.  You have until Thursday evening to still join in!

Well, I'm off to enjoy this gorgeous sunshine we're having today!  Take care and have a wonderful day!

A special Winter Wonderland Birthday Blog Hop!

Hi there!

I have a special post for you today as Winter Wonderland will be 2 on May 30th and we are celebrating by having a week long blog hop.   You should have arrived by way of Kate but in case you haven't you will want to start back at the beginning here on Marianne's blog so you don't miss out on the fun and the chance to collect everything you need to have a chance of winning!

We have 11 sponsors this week, yes, that’s right 11!!! But that’s not all because each member of the DT has some candy to give away too. Both teams are playing along this week plus Janet who joins us at the end of each month so that’s another 11 prizes to be won.

We would like to have as many prize winners as possible so if your name is drawn for more than one prize we will draw again. That means 22 lucky people will win a prize this week. With so many prize winners we won’t be choosing a top 3 just for this week.

All you have to do to join in the fun is:

· Play along with this week’s easy and fun challenge

· Be a follower of Winter Wonderland

· Visit each member of the DT and collect a letter

· Leave them a comment and enter their candy draw

· Rearrange the letters to make a two word Christmas Carol

· E-mail the answer to Winter Wonderland

This weeks challenge is 'A Blue & White Christmas'.  Here is my card for the challenge and I've used the adorable LOTV image coloured up with copics.  I've followed the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday and the sentiment is from Sentiments 4 You - one of the sponsors of the blog hop!  I used an MS border punch for the strip and although it's hard to tell from the photo, the white cardstock is beautifully embossed with snowflakes.

Of course you don’t have to join in the blog hop if you don’t want to. You can still enter this week’s challenge and be in with the chance of winning one of the 11 prizes this week but why miss out on doubling your chance of winning.

The letter you need to collect from me is ...........

S

The next person on the hop is Linda so be sure to check out what gorgeous creation she has waiting for you!

And here is my blog candy that I'm giving away for the hop.  There's a delightful mix of Bo Bunny 6x6 paper pad, pearls, bling, ribbon, flowers, a funky stamp set and some Jelly Belly beans!  Please be sure to leave a comment and link your name if you'd like to be entered for the candy draw.  You have until Thursday June 2nd at 5pm to enter.  Good luck!

That's all folks!  Hope you continue having loads of fun on the blog hop and thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment!  It is very much appreciated and I wish you all good luck!

Tilda with Tulips

Hello friends!

I managed to get in a little crafty play time over the long weekend and finish up this Tilda card which I had started over a week ago!

Tilda is coloured with copics and I matched her to this gorgeous new pad of paper I bought at Michaels - 'Watercolour' by K&Company.  Delicious doesn't even come close to saying how gorgeous these papers are.  Dena had mentioned it on her blog a while back and I went to have a look at Michaels ... and needless to say I just couldn't resist!  They really are such exquisite colours and designs on every page ... and it's double-sided ... bonus!

I followed Donalda's sketch from Just Magnolia challenge this week - it was a really fab one to play with!  The ticket is THoltz and the lace, swirls, ribbon, flowers, pearls & hardware are all from my stash.

I actually got around to finishing off the inside too so here is a little peek!  I tried to follow the same layout as the front.

Here is a close-up of sweet Tilda holding the pretty tulips!  I just love the colour combo of pink & purple ... so girly!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges this week:-

Papertake Weekly - Pale, Pretty Pastels
The Crafty Pad - Lace & Bows
Just Magnolia - Sketch challenge
Truly Scrumptious - Anything Goes
Magnolia Mania - Favourite colours

Well, that's all for today folks!  I may get around to blog hopping tonight but right now the sun is shining and I know I will be busy with my boys outside this afternoon!  Enjoy your day and thanks for popping in for a visit and leaving a comment - I really do appreciate your time!

Tou-can 'Post It' ... so shake your tail feathers!!

Hello friends!

Another week gone by with so little crafty time!  The up side to that is that the sun has been shining gloriously and I've been out with my boys enjoying it to the fullest.

So today is my PaperWorksCo posting and there is a double clue in my title ...'tou-can' not only referring to Tiki being featured on my projects but also that there is a second person involved today?  Any guesses ... yup, my 9 year old son Joel.  He saw me colouring in Tiki and desperately wanted to colour in the second one so I said, "Sure ... why not".  Can you guess which is his Tiki the Toucan?  I gave him some pointers on how to use the copics and away he went .... yes, I let him use my precious copics!!  LOL

Here comes the second part to the clue 'Post It' .... I made a sweet little Post It Note holder.  This was so quick and easy to put together and I used the fabulously fun and bright Echo Park Sweet Summertime papers.

And to complete the set I made this little card to match so I have a nice little giveaway ready to hand should I need it!  I even found some real feathers tucked away in one of my embellishment drawers which I added to the card - I love the effect!

So did you figure out which Tiki Joel coloured in?  It is the second one, used on the card.  Didn't he do a great job!!

I hope all my fellow Canadians are enjoying a wonderful Victoria Day weekend!  Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my projects.  All your comments are so appreciated and I really love reading them .. I know how precious time is to stop and leave them so each and every one is very special!

Cupcake with a Cherry on the Top!!

Hello!

I have my PaperWorksCo DT project to share with you lovely folks today.  As I'm scheduled for 'Free for All' Mondays I thought I would do a project that has been sitting on my 'to do' list for a rather long while!  This super cute ... and calorie free ... cupcake gift card holder is absolutely deliciously lovely!  I followed this tutorial here on you tube.

I used some beautiful Doodlebug 'Sweet Treats' paper for the cupcake wrapper and a 3" styrofoam ball for the 'cake'.  Grosgrain ribbon, prima flowers, paper doily and glitter are some of the main ingredients in baking this cupcake!

Here's a view of the 'cherry' on top and the paper doily mimicking the frosting.   The picture below shows where the gift card is held and definitely hidden away inside the cupcake.

This project was an absolute delight to make and I know I've found my teacher gifts for the end of the school year!  Now to get baking lots more cupcakes!!

Thanks for stopping in everyone and for all the lovely comments you leave me!  I'm busy volunteering in my son's class this morning but hopefully I can catch up on some blog hopping a little later today!

Wedding Verse Card

This is another card that I was asked to make ... a simple, elegant wedding card in neutral colours.  I found this gorgeous verse by Khalil Gibran and thought it so perfect to use on the card.  Papers are from DCWV Luxury Stack and are absolutely lush!  Flowers, ribbon and bling are from stash and I used the MS border punch to add an extra touch of elegance!

*Apologies for the wonky photos - it is straight in real life!!!*

I'm making this a quick post as I have supper on the go and my boys are getting hungry, LOL!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'm glad to see that blogger is back playing nicely again!  I hope you all enjoy a wonderful start to the weekend!

Waterfall Fun with the Aqua Amigos!

Tommy theTurtle

Hi there!

This is my second posting of the day so if you want to see my GDT card for Stamp with Fun please scroll down!

I decided to make a Waterfall Card for today`s PaperWorksCo DT card.  I haven`t done one of these in ages and decided it was time to create one.  I had forgotten just how much fun these are to make and the pleasure you get from pulling it down to create the waterfall ... I know ... the simplest things amuse me!!  :)

Ollie the Octopus

Carlos the Crab

Wallie the Whale

I used the sweet Aqua Amigos stamp set from PWCO and coloured with my copics.  The gorgeous flocked paper is from Doodlebug and is so lush and soft to touch!  The vertical sentiment inside is from Wordsworth and fits perfectly on this card.

Thanks for stopping in again ... your visit is truly appreciated and I thank you for any comments you may leave!  I`m off to do a bit of housework and then I`m going to enjoy this wonderful sunshine that has finally arrived!!  Have a great day everyone!

Stamp with Fun Guest Design Spot!

Good morning friends!

I have my second GDT card for Stamp with Fun today!  Thank you girls for having me ... I really loved being able to Guest Design for your challenge blog!

I decided to go with a bigger card for the first time and made a 6"x6" - wow - so much room!  I pulled out this super sweet Tilda and coloured with my copics.  Papers are from the gorgeous Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby pad.  Flowers are from WOC and pearls and lace are from my stash.

I hope all you mommies out there enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday ... I sure did!  We finally have some gorgeous sunshine so I hope I'll be able to get out later and enjoy it with my boys!  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to pop back later for my PaperWorksCo DT card ...you won't be disappointed by what you'll 'sea' .....!!!  ;)

Believe in your Dreams!

Hi there!

The card I have to show you today was a commissioned card for a confirmation.  I found this beautiful and inspiring verse as it complements the gift that has been bought for this young lady.  These fabulous papers are Tim Holtz 'Vintage Shabby' - what a gorgeous pad of paper that is!

I created an easel card as it would be great to keep this inspiring verse displayed and as a constant source of inspiration.  Bling, mini punched daisies and a butterfly, with a Fleur de Lis border punch, finish off the elegance of this card.

I hope it is well received!  Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments ... your visit is always very much appreciated even if I don't seem to always get the time to return the compliment.  Have a wonderful start to the weekend!

Up, Up and Away ....

This is my second posting of the day ... if you wish to see my GD card for Stamp with Fun please scroll down!

As we begin the new month of May I will be showcasing my PaperWorksCo DT cards on the 'Free For All' days of Monday. Yeehaa ... I get to play with all sorts of fun projects so stay tuned for the month and see what PWCO goodness there is to come!

Today I decided to play with the gorgeous new Cutie Patootie image 'Up, Up & Away' ... I can't tell you have much I adore this little mouse!  I coloured with copics and trimmed him out.  I haven't made a side-step card in a long while so thought I would create one of those - the 'how-to' is right here on SCS.

I found the sweet pennant stamp in Michaels in the $1.50 bin ... I think Martha Stewart needs to make a pennant border punch don't you think!!  An MS grass border punch, mini flower punch, bling and doily add all the finishing touches to the card.  I just love this sentiment and really feel it goes with this Cutie Patootie so well.

OK, that's all for today folks.  I hope to be back soon with some more crafty goodness to show you if I get a chance to find time in my craft room!  Thanks for stopping by and I really appreciate all the lovely comments you leave!

I'm the featured GD over at Stamp with Fun!!!

Hello!

I was so thrilled to be asked by the Stamp with Fun challenge blog to be their Guest Designer for two challenges during May - what an honour!

So, this is the card I created for todays challenge of  lace/ribbon.  This is such a gorgeous dreamy Tilda and I coloured her in with my favourite blues ... with copics, of course!  Paper is from the BG Cappella pad and flowers are from WOCrafts and stash.  The guipre lace is just so pretty isn't it!  I also used the MS heart border punch too.

Thanks for stopping in to visit me today and be sure to pop back for my PaperWorksCo DT card which will be posted up later.  Wow - double posting today - now that's a first, LOL!!!

Take care and if you can, why don't you join in with the Stamp with Fun challenge this week!

Hugs,
Danielle x
