Because Nice Matters ...

Good Morning Folks!

Happy Saturday to you all!  I hope you're enjoying the start to your weekend - I was until I looked out the window and saw SNOW!!!  Nooooo ... hopefully the Spring sunshine will return soon!

Today I have this adorable Makey Bakey Mice image from Crafters Companion.  I give credit to my blogging friend Christine from Dol Creations for getting me hooked onto these adorable mice ... they are beyond cute!

The image is coloured up with copics and I used a new flourish die cut from Cheery Lynn Designs which I recently added to my stash.  The MS border punch came out of hiding and I had to blow some dust off of that one, lol!  The sentiment is SU! - I almost wanted to change it to ... "because Mice matters .. "!!!

Thanks for stopping in and taking a peek at my blog today - always love your visits and appreciate the comments that are left!  Unfortunately I have to make a sympathy card today for a friend who just lost her stepdad, my least favourite card to make.

Some challenges I will enter this card into:-

Allsorts Challenge - Feature a Creature
Craft your Passion Challenges - Always Anything Goes
Simply Create Too - Challenge #82 Anything Goes

Enjoy your day whatever you plan on doing ... until next time!

Welcome to the jungle .... baby!

Hello there!

I am so excited to be back today with this super fun card I made.  I was asked to make a baby shower card where the nursery theme is jungle animals.  I knew exactly what stamps I wanted to pull out but it took me a while to find my mojo and get inspired!

Then, it dawned on me ... a side step card is the perfect solution to creating a 'scene card' when needing to incorporate lots of animals!  And so here is the result ... after many hours of colouring, cutting, embossing, punching, glueing and assembling!  I am in love with it!  I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am with the end result.  My friend is thrilled too and absolutely loves it!

Stamps are PaperWorksCo (retired), coloured with copics.  Grass is MS border punch, embossing folder and leaves are Spellbinders.  Flowers and pearls are from my stash.  Sentiment is SU!

I'm entering this card into:-

Papertake Weekly - A Cut Above (die cuts, punches, cutting etc.)

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you enjoy viewing my card/make as much as I enjoyed making it!  Appreciate all your comments - thank you!  Enjoy your Wednesday!

You are my Sunshine!

Hello everyone!

I am making lots of spring-themed cards in the desperate hope of urging Spring along it's way ... it is still way too cold here for my liking!!

This Tilda is super cute and I loved colouring her up with my copic markers.  I've been really enjoying colouring black hair recently too!  The papers are a 6x6 pad Garden Party by Pebbles.  I love the fresh colours and the plaid is definitely a favourite!  Ribbon, flowers and bling are all from my stash.  The border punch is MS.  The sentiment square is from the paper pad.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:-

Papertake Weekly - A Cut Above (die cuts, punches)
Craft Your Passion - Always Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Spring Fever

That's all for today folks!  I hope you're enjoying your Tuesday, whatever you're doing!  Thanks for stopping in and for leaving any lovely comments - always greatly appreciated!

Meet me in the Red Room ... 50 Shades of Smexy!

Hello!

I am so excited to show this card today - I just found out about these gorgeous sexy images from Slinky Tart and am totally hooked!  The artist has some amazing pin-up images ... so watch out, there'll be more from me!!!  This one is very aptly named "50 Shades of Smexy"!

I found a packet of Spectrum Noir colouring paper which goes through my printer like a dream and is wonderful to colour on.  Highly recommend it for copic colouring!

The image is coloured with copics using these combination of colours:-

Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13, E15, R11
Silk: R27, R46, R59, R89, N7 (Grey)
Rope: E37, E34
Hair: C2, C6, C7, C8, C9, 100
Tie: C2, C7, C8, C9, 100, Colourless Blender

The sentiment is computer generated and I used an EK Success small heart punch and mini bling dots to enhance the empty space down the side.

I hope you love this as much as I do!  I really loved colouring her in and can't wait to try out some of her other images.

Thanks for stopping in again today and look forward to reading any comments should you have the time to leave one!

Aloha ... just walking on sunshine!

Happy Thursday folks!

I hope you are all well!  We had enjoyed a snippet of Spring and now unfortunately it feels like we've been thrown back into winter again as the temperatures have dipped dramatically and the wind chill is a bitter -17oc!  On a good note, my back is 100% improved and I may attempt to sit at my craft desk today.

I inked up this gorgeous Hawaiian Tilda which arrived new to my stash a couple of weeks ago! Actually, I sent this card out to a friend who is heading out to Kauai in 10 days time for a 2 week vacation!  She has been longing to go back to Hawaii and I knew how excited she was, so I sent her this card as a "I'm so excited for you" message!

Tilda is coloured with copics and the dp is BG Green at Heart.  The tropical fronds are a Memory Box die and flowers are from stash.  The red ribbon is recycled from a Lindt chocolate teddy bear! Mmmm, guess who ate the chocolate, lol!

Some challenges for this card:-

Cute Card Thursday - Spring Fever
Craft your Passion Challenges - Always Anything Goes

That's all for today.  Thanks for stopping in, it's always great to see you here!  I hope the sun is shining where you are and that "Spring fever" is setting in!

You are fabulous!

Hi there!

I wanted to share this gorgeous Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp that has been in my collection for a while,  I just haven't had the chance until now to ink her up and make it into a card! Isn't she fabulous!

I gave this card to my BFF for Valentine's Day (I know, I'm catching up with posts).  Her favourite colour is blue and the sentiment says it all (Verve).

The image is coloured with copics and the bling and ribbon is from my stash.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to craft this week - I popped my rib out and have been in pain with the muscle spasms.  Thankfully I was able to get in and see the Chiropractor quickly and am finally feeling some relief.  I am reluctant to sit at my craft desk though until it is completely pain-free as bending over my desk aggravates the exact spot.  Oh well, I'll have to find some other way to relax!

Have a great weekend peeps and thanks for stopping in and leaving me such lovely comments.  I appreciate each and every one of them!

Mermaid Tilda

Good day peeps!

I hope you're having a great week so far!  I enjoyed a fabulous day at the beach yesterday where the temperature rose to a balmy 8oc and it felt positively spring-like in the sunshine!  My puppy Jasper had an absolute ball and I collected lots of beautiful sea glass!  Nothing like a walk on the beach to soothe the soul and put life back on the right track!

So, today I have this sweet Mermaid Tilda for you.  This is a card I made for my niece's birthday and it fits her personality perfectly - she is a little mermaid and just adores the ocean.  Lucky for her she lives on an island and enjoys an idyllic childhood romping on the beaches.

The image is coloured with copics and I used paper from an old 6x6 BG Kioshi pad.  The colours worked perfectly.  I didn't add too many other embellishments other than some glittered tape as this had to be mailed overseas so needed it to lay flat in the envelope!

Some challenges I'm entering this card into:-

Magnolia Down Under Challenges - "Happy Birthday"
Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes Birthday
Craft your Passion Challenge - Always Anything Goes
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
The Ribbon Girl Challenge - Everything Goes with a Birthday Theme

Thanks again for stopping in - I really appreciate you taking the time to leave your lovely comments!

Beautiful ... (just the way you are)

Hello!

Happy Saturday peeps - I hope you're enjoy a fabulous weekend!

I have recently added some gorgeous Verve sentiment stamps to my stash and this has to be one of my new favourites!  I just adore it and the fonts Verve use are just spectacular.

I've gone for a very "artsy" look & feel to this card and I really love how it has turned out.  The papers are BG Cappella and the ribbon, lace, flowers & embellishments are from my stash.

I have been asked to make another one of these using a different colour scheme. I look forward to putting it together.

Well, here in Massachusetts we're finally beginning to feel a few signs of Spring as the temperatures slowly rise above freezing.  There is a lot of snow to melt so slowly does it, we don't need flooding!!

I got some new crafty goodies in the mail this week so I'm looking forward to sitting down and playing with some new stash - always good for the creative juices!

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges:-

Allsorts Challenges - Spring is in the Air
Cute Card Thursday - Die cuts & punches
Craft your Passion Challenge - Always Anything Goes

Have a fantastic day everyone and thanks for stopping in!

Flowers of Today ...

Happy Tuesday all!

I have this adorable Tilda for you today.  I have been seeing lots of the fun 'surprise pop-up cards' on friends' blogs and although I have made them before it has been a long time so thought I'd try them again.  I had forgotten how much fun they are to make, so I'll definitely be making more of these!

Tilda is coloured with copics and the paper I have used is from K&Co.  Flowers, lace & ribbon are all from my stash.  The sentiment is one that is new to my collection from Verve Stamps (adore their sentiment stamps)!

Here is the card with the tab pulled out and the surprise message inside.  I glued the flowers in a particular way that the main panel and the pull tab panel would both have some on them and I really like how that turned out.

Here are some challenges I can put my card in for:-

Craft your Passion - Always Anything Goes
Lovely Hanglar or Sweet Magnolia - Your Favourite Embellishment (Flowers)
The Ribbon Girl - Add Flowers
Cute Card Thursday - Fancy Corners
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
Stamp & Create - Is it Spring yet?

Thanks for stopping in again today.  I hope I can catch up with some blog-hopping and stop in at my favourite inspirational places!

Have a wonderful day and hope your week has had a great start!

Remember to stop & smell the roses!

Happy Sunday peeps!

Sorry I've been absent for the last month but things have been a little hectic around here, with the added February break off with the kids where we went back to Ottawa for a mini-break to see friends. A close friend also lost his mom last week so I had a wake and funeral to attend to.  Nothing like the loss of life to remind you to "stop & smell the roses" and enjoy every day life gives you.

I have been busy crafting though so I have some fun cards to show you.  Today is the lovely LOTV fairy in gorgeous purple colours.  I coloured her in copics and the paper is from MME So Sophie.  I hosted a giveaway on my FB page here a while ago and the lovely lady who won asked me to make her a card using her favourite colours and this delightful fairy.  So this is what I created.  I sure hope she's happy with it.  Knowing my friend, she will be framing this for her wall!!

I found one challenge that I'm entering the card in for:-

Thanks for stopping in today.  Another snow storm is on its way again *sigh* so I hope I can get to my crafting table this afternoon and pleasantly watch the snowflakes falling as I colour!!  lol

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone and remember to stop & smell the roses!

Hugs,
