Tilda blowing kisses ... a kleenex box project

Hi there!

Thanks for popping in today to see my little Tilda project.  I've been asked to make up some of these kleenex box covers and I thought I would do a valentine one using this sweet Tilda.  I have altered it slightly so that she is blowing hearts - isn't she cute!

I followed the tissue box cover tutorial over on Splitcoaststampers - super easy to follow!  Each side and the top is embossed with this sweet daisy flower design (just given to me by a friend, Lilia, thank you!)  I sponged Spun Sugar distress ink on the edges and over the embossed flowers to add in a gentle hint of pink.

I used the MS Deep Edger heart border punch for the bottom border of the box and trimmed it with this gorgeous pearl lace.  I added some punched hearts in both red and pink.  Tilda is coloured with copics and trimmed out and sitting on top of the hearts.

I decorated the top of the box with some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaf punch from MS. The oval is die cut using a testability.

Thanks for your visit today - it's greatly appreciated, as are any comments that you may leave!  It took me all day to get this done today.  It was my day off work and I had hoped to get a lot more done but unfortunately my 10 yr old son, Joel, had an asthma attack at school.  He is doing ok now but it's always a scare when it happens.

Have a great evening everyone ... not sure when I'll be able to post again.  I seem to be averaging one a week at the moment.  I'm loving my job but it sure does get in the way of my crafting, LOL!!!

Ahoy there me matey ....

Hello there!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  I managed a little crafty time and wanted to make a boy card and decided to use Pirate Edwin which had yet to see ink!  He's coloured with copics and I found this fab paper in my stash which is eons old.  I applied a new copic technique to this image ... colouring in fabric folds.  Can you see them on the bottom of his pants?  Love how it turned out!  I pulled out some burlap (hessian to the UK folks!!) which adds a nice touch to the card.  I also added the charm.

In keeping with my New Year crafting resolution, I finished the inside of the card.  This one is ready to be packaged up and hopefully get sold.  Unfortunately I don't have time to scour through the challenges that are out there at the moment but I do thank you for popping in and for any comments that you may leave.  I will try my hardest to return each one.

See you again soon!

Tilda - As cute as can Bee ... and some sad news

Hi there!

Yippee ... I got some more time in the craft room today!  And I decided to ink up a 'new to me' Tilda stamp that I had purchased back in the Fall.  I have to admit to being a little scared to pick up my copics again after not colouring with them for so long, but after a few minutes I was in my 'zone' and happily off in copic land!  The papers are from an SU! pad.

It took me forever and an age to embellish this card - I just couldn't find the right stuff until I found this felt and beaded flower.  I adhered the two together and I think it's the ideal finishing touch I was looking for!  I've also made a commitment to myself this year that any cards I make I will finish off the inside before I walk away from my desk.  So, this card is complete and ready to be sold!

I'm sure there are plenty of challenges out there right now but I don't have the energy to sit and wander through them all.  Maybe next time ...!!

Some sad news which I need to share is that PaperWorksCo is closing it's online store.  I have been a part of Peggy's fabulous DT team for 2 years and I am going to miss her and the team terribly.  She had a fabulous 4 years with her online store but commitments and priorities have changed and she and Mike have decided to move on to pastures new.  I wish them all the best in their new ventures and can't thank them enough for the generosity they've shared with me and the beautiful friendships that I've made through PWCO.  Goodbye PaperWorksCo ... you will be sorely missed.

Thanks for stopping in today - great to see you here!  And thanks for any comments that you should leave - I love reading them and they are very much appreciated!  Until next time ....

Hugs, Danielle

At last ... my first post of 2012!

Hi there!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!  Unfortunately it was a bit of a 'sick' one in our household and I am only now getting a chance to sit at my craft table!  It was also my first Christmas season working so things were pretty hectic and disorganized!  Hopefully with the boys back at school on Monday normal scheduling will resume!!

Anyways, I finally got to put together my first calendar page ... woohoo!!  My lovely friend, Sheena, had her other half make these gorgeous calendar stands for me.  I'm so thrilled with them as I have been dying to participate with my friend, Christine, in making these beautiful calendar pages each month.  So although this first page is pretty simple, I love how it's turned out and Edwin on his toboggan is a perfect image for January in Ottawa!!

Here's a close up of the image and page ... the top panel is embossed with a snowflake embossing folder.  Edwin is coloured with copics and cut out.  The calendar page I found here.

Thanks for stopping in today and huge apologies for my severe lack of posts recently.  Also, some news to share is that I have stepped down from my DT position with the Winter Wonderland Challenge  Blog.  My new work commitments are just leaving my crafting time so depleted right now but hopefully my mojo and energy levels will return back to normal soon and I'll find time to at least participate in a few challenges.  I hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

Hugs,
Danielle x
