Winter Wonderland - Monochromatic Challenge

Hi everyone!
I hope this Sunday finds you all well. What an unproductive week (creatively and otherwise) for me due to illness! Thank you all for your wonderful get well wishes and your patience in my lack of blogging! I did get myself to the doctor and a sinus infection and strep throat was confirmed so I now have the antibiotics to kick those bad germs out and get me on the road to full health!
I finally managed to get into my craft room to produce my DT card for this weeks challenge over at Winter Wonderland. Monochromatic is the theme there this week. I used this sweet image of Tilda which I coloured with my copics. DP is Bo Bunny. I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers this week by Carole which I absolutely love. I pulled out this gorgeous lace which I recently picked up from the Dollar Store. The hardware is from a set by WR Memory Keepers. Snowflakes are punched with the MS punch.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I really appreciate your visit and any comments you leave. I hope I will be able to get back into some more serious crafting and blogging this week - I've missed you all for sure! Be sure to pop over to the Winter Wonderland blog and check out all my other DT's gorgeous creations and join in this weeks challenge to win some gorgeous SU! stamp sets!
Hugs,
Danielle

Sorry for my lack of posting ...

Hello my friends,
Apologies for my lack of posts this week. I am still unwell and seem to have gotten worse these last few days. I think I'm going to have to give in and go and see the doctor. I suspect I may have a sinus infection. I hardly got off the couch yesterday - geez, what a waste of a day but with so little energy the couch seemed like the best option!
So I think I will have a bit of a blogging break for the next few days until I sort myself out - I really hate feeling like this and feel bad that I don't have the energy to visit all my fabulous blog friends. I promise I will catch up with you all soon!

Magical Monday - Let's Get Distressed!

Hi!
I hope it's a Magical Monday for you all - wow - can you believe we're already in the last week of February!
Today at 'There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes' Nina has this super cute 'Lucky Bear' image for us to play with this week. Our super talented Nilla has challenged us to 'get distressed' with our projects this week - you can use a distressing tool, scissors, distress with inks etc.
I've kept my card fairly simple this week. I coloured the cute bear with Distress Inks and distressed the edges with both my distressing tool and ink. The dp is SU! which is again distressed. The sentiment is from my stash and I used an oval nestie. Ribbon is stash and I used my ornate stapler.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can pop over to 'There's Magic in the Air' blog and check out my DT sister's amazing creations this week. And while you're there, pick up Nina's freebie image and join in with our challenge this week and de-stress yourself by distressing, lol! The cute image above is this weeks prize if you enter - just be sure to link up your posting on Mr Linky!

Winter Wonderland Card - Pascale's Sketch

Good Sunday morning!

Hope you are all well - it's been snowing here this morning and it looks like we're in for a week of winter storm weather with snow forecast every day - and lots of it!! Yuck - I was hoping Spring really was on its way, but I guess not just yet.

Well, today I have for you my DT card for the Winter Wonderland challenge blog. Pascale has given us this fabulous sketch to work with! Sorry it's a little late. It's certainly fitting in with the weather theme this week, that's for sure, lol!! I've used a cute C.C. Designs image I received from Christine and coloured her with my copics. Used a white gel pen to add some highlights and a sakura stardust to add some glitter to her wings. Paper is from stash and I embossed a panel. Snowflakes are MS punch and the white lace is a fabulous find from the Dollar Store. They are carrying the most beautiful lace at the moment so I've stocked up as you never know if they'll get it back in or not!! Some gems in each corner finish off the sketch. I'm also going to put this card into the 'Totally Papercrafts' challenge this week which is 'Lots of spots'.

I hope you like it and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today. I really appreciate it and of course all your comments that you may leave! I hope you enjoy what's left of the weekend!

A sweet Tilda card!

Happy Friday everyone!
Wow - another week over and hopefully a great weekend to look forward to! I'm going to have to make this a quick post and I'm on my way out to help set up and decorate the school gym for the school dance tonight!
I received a wonderful package from my mum yesterday full of Wild Orchid Craft flowers - woohoo - they are gorgeous!!
So I decided to ink up this cute Tilda as she hasn't been played with yet! I coloured her with my copics and tried a different technique this time for colouring her hair - I love the result! I'm entering this card for the February challenge over at The Little Stamp Shoppe where we are to make a 'Swedish' style Magnolia card - do you think this fits the bill? The winner of this months challenge gets a Guest DT spot - what a prize!
Papers are Magnolia which I machine-stitched around the edges. I added some cream and dusty pink lace with a pearl slider from Wild Orchid Crafts. I distressed the edges around the octagonal nestie with distress inks. The cherry blossoms are from WOC and the rest from stash. Two pearls in each corner finish off the look.
Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit - I love having you here and I really do appreciate all your comments! Gotta run - have yourselves a great Friday evening and start to the weekend!

A Spring Card for 3 challenges!

Hello friends!
Hope you're all well! My mojo is well and truly still in hibernation - I haven't been in my craft room for the last 4 days! My energy still feels low but I was determined to create something today and that I have!
I scoured some challenges and found I can enter this card into Magnolia Down Under 'Buttons, Flowers & Bows'. Although the main image is C.C. Designs the sweet little tweety bird and cherry paper is Magnolia! I followed a sketch from Stamp with Fun this week - I loved it - definitely a fun one to do! And lastly, over on A Spoonful of Sugar the theme is 'Springtime' - this is an unusual colour combo for me but I have to say I love it! I can also enter this into 'Totally Papercrafts' challenge this week which is 'Buttons & Bows'.
The image is from my dear friend Christine - thanks hun - she was definitely a sweetie to colour! I coloured with my copics. I cut the swing out and used twine to put it together on the card. I used the MS picket fence punch to create a sweet garden scene.
Thanks for popping by for a visit - I really love that you can come by! I haven't been hopping too much these past few days - hopefully I'll get to it a bit later so I can catch up on my commenting. Thanks for your comments - I so enjoy reading them!

Magical Monday - Circle & Lace

Good Morning!
Welcome to another Magical Monday with 'There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes'!
Selma Stevenson brings us this week's challenge. She wants you to use any Paper Cupcake's image you have acquired and also wants to see you use lace (either paper punched or real) and a circle (the main image and/or greeting stamped in a circle).
I have this adorable penguin image of Nina's called 'You Melt my Heart'! I totally fell in love with these cutie pies keeping eachother warm. So, even though Valentine's Day was yesterday, I get to show my 'love' card today!
I coloured the image with Distress Inks on watercolour paper and added stickles to the melting heart and the dots on their scarves. I heart embossed the circle, added a heart charm and a computer generated sentiment. The lace was from stash and I used the sewing machine to add detail on the main panel.
Thanks so much for stopping by today - I always love your visits! Be sure to pop on over to 'There's Magic in the Air' and join in with this weeks fun and be up to win a fabulous prize! And check out the rest of the DT's fantastic inspiration this week!
We have a holiday here today in Canada, 'Family Day', so we'll be chilling and enjoying the day off! AND, Canada just won their first Gold in the Men's Moguls - GO CANADA, woohoo!!
Enjoy your day!

Winter Wonderland - Colour Challenge

Good Morning folks!
I hope this Sunday finds you all well. It's been a long week for me - I'm still not feeling well and with that comes a complete lack of mojo and will to craft! :(
However, today is another Winter Wonderland challenge and it is to use the colours 'Satsuma, gold & chocolate' - doesn't that sound scrumptious??! The idea for this card evolved in my head
whilst going to sleep a couple of nights ago! I thought the colours would work perfectly for a sunset type of scene and of course, with it being christmas themed, I immediately thought of the 3 Kings!
The card itself is pretty simple - I sponged distress inks (Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, Dried Marigold & Vintage Photo) onto glossy paper and then stamped the image over the top. I don't think there could be a more perfect punch to use than this Moroccan lace. The star is stamped with versamark and gold embossed. The sentiment is cut out with a nesties circle.
I hope you like it! It was very last minute for me (due to my cold) and I don't like feeling this rushed when I do something, but I think it turned out ok.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit today! As always, I truly appreciate your time to pop by and leave a comment! And pop on over to the Winter Wonderland challenge blog and join in with this weeks challenge - hope to see you over there!
Hugs,

My first C.C. Designs card!

Hi everyone!
Thanks for stopping by for a visit today. My mojo and desire to craft has been severely depleted these last few days. I've had the kids home sick - yep - all 3 of them! And hubby and myself seem to be battling a cold. However, today my head has felt a little clearer so I took myself down to my craft room and was determined to colour up these gorgeous little cuties that I received from my dearest blogging friend, Christine. Thanks hun, you really are so generous!
I pulled out my prisma pencils for this image although I coloured her face and any visible skin with my copics. I love this aqua/violet colour combo - it feels so fresh and uplifting - not like the -23oc temps we've experienced today!! I followed the sketch by Aud over at Friday Sketchers today - I love it! I'm also putting this card in for the Totally Papercrafts challenge this week which is 'Buttons & Bows'.
The dp is from my stash and I used the MS Daisy border punch. I added some violet adhesive pearls and adhered a ribbon and violet button with linen thread for the final touch. The back piece of cardstock is embossed and was gifted to me so not sure which line/company it comes from. I want to say CTMH but I'm not sure!
Well, there you have it! I have projects that I need to complete so I best kept trudging on forward and hope my mojo wakes up! Thanks so much for dropping by and leaving your much appreciated comments! I hope you all enjoy a wonderful start to the weekend!
Hugs,

Tilda with Hearts - 4 challenges!

Hi!
I hope this Wednesday finds you all well! I've been a little lacking in my mojo these past few days but I made myself go down to my craft room today and this is what I came up with!
With this one card I've managed to get 4 challenges checked off! Magnolia Down Under is asking for a colour combo of 'Pink & Grey, the sketch is from Friday Sketchers and Cute Card Thursday are looking for 'Spots & Dots'. I can also add this into the Totally Papercrafts challenge where there is a recipe to follow of 3 embellishments, 2 papers, 1 image.
This is a relatively new Tilda in my collection which I purchased from the lovely Heidi at The Stamp Shoppe. I coloured her with Distress Inks and cut her out. The papers are from K&Co Itsy Bitsy. I embossed the nestie circle, used the MS heart punch and added embellishments from stash. The sentiment is from EK Success.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. And your comments are always greatly appreciated! I hope you enjoyed my post today and could find some inspiration from my card! I hope you all enjoy a beautiful day - it's a balmy -4oc here today with sunshine!!

A Magical Monday - Bringing Comfort ....

Good Morning to you All!
I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend - I did, but it didn't include any stamping time unfortunately. However, huge amounts of family fun was had so I feel really blessed for that!
Well, here we are at another Magical Monday with There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes. Patti J. Gilliam brings us this weeks challenge. She wants you to use this image "Flight of the Fucshia" and Make a "Comforting" card (thinking of you, get well, sympathy, etc.), using Flourishes and/or Pearls.
Isn't this image so beautiful! I coloured the dove with Distress Inks on watercolour paper. I love this teal paper so decided to pull colours together from that. DP was from my stash. I used a scalloped nestie square behind the image and used Bosskut swirls to add behind my Prima flower. The sentiment is from Gina K.Designs 'Comfort & Peace' set and then I finished by added 2 teal adhesive pearls from stash.
A very simply designed card but when it comes to comforting cards, I always find simple is best. Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you're able to pop on over to There's Magic in the Air and check out the other fabulous creations by the DT gals. And don't forget, whilst you're there you can pick up this beautiful 'Flight of the Fuschia' image for free and take part in this weeks challenge! Hope to see you there.
I hope you all enjoy a wonderful day and thank you, as always, for your visit and beautiful comments!

Winter Wonderland Challenge - A sketch & Baby's 1st Christmas!

Hi there!
Sorry for the lack of posts the past couple of days - life has been a little emotional trying to deal with my oldest son and friendship troubles! Geez, I thought it was only girls who went through that stuff! Thankfully, after lots of chats and prayers, he is one relieved and happy boy again, phew!

So, today I have my DT card for the Winter Wonderland challenge. This week the lovely Anne has given us this fabulous sketch to play with using the theme 'Baby's 1st Christmas'. Mmm, had to dive into some unused and forgotten Alota stamps that I had in my stash. I thought this cute train would be perfect. Then I found this lovely green & red plaid paper in a christmas stack of papers. I coloured the image with Distress Inks. Corner embellishments, dew drops and ribbon (bow made with the bow-easy tool) are from stash and I computer generated the sentiment as I didn't have anything remotely appropriate in my stamps!

I hope you like it and are able to pop over to Winter Wonderland and check out the fabulous work by the other DT gals! And come and join us, you'll have another christmas card marked off your list!

Hugs,
Danielle x

A request ....

Hi everyone!
I thought I'd put a request out there to my blogging friends. I am seeing so many cute Swiss Pixies from C.C. Designs being used and I'm seriously starting to fall in love with them. I was wondering if there is anyone who would like to trade some stamped images with me? I would love to have a few of these cutie pies and I would be more than willing and happy to share whatever stamped images I have with you.
If anyone is interested please leave me a comment or email me at lord.danielle@gmail.com! Thanks a million, I really appreciate it!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge - Golfer's Birthday Card!

Hi there!
I hope you're all having a great day! I have all the kids at school today (yay!) so managed to get a birthday card done which I've been asked to do. I saw this weeks sketch challenge over at Truly Scrumptious and thought this would work perfectly for my card.
A golfers card was requested so I pulled out these cute new stamps which my sweet Mum had sent me recently. I paper pieced his vest and then used that same argyle paper for the squares. I found this awesome golf ball embellishment in my stash and placed it right where his club his - I think that works, don't you?! I coloured the image with my Tombow markers on watercolour paper. My neighbour is Jamaican so I wanted to be sure to colour him up in ethnic tones - I hope it looks ok! I cuttlebug embossed the back panel with the same argyle pattern.

And here's a quick glimpse at the inside of the finished card. I love this saying and I think it's perfect for anyone who 'plays'! ;)
Well, that's all for today folks! Thanks so much for stopping by - you know how much I appreciate your visits and comments! Have a great day!

Tilda sends her Loving Wishes ....

Hi!
I hope you're all having a good day. I ended up having my little guy at home yesterday, and again today. He's caught the bad cough I had last week so hopefully a couple of days of rest will set him straight.
Whilst he was napping yesterday I managed to sneak down to my craft room and play! I finally decided to ink up this Tilda from the Winter kit. I've been sitting on the fence as to whether or not I like her and after colouring her in, I've decided that I love her!! She's so much nicer when she's been inked up and coloured! I've followed the sketch over at the Magnolia Down Under Challenge where there is also the added detail of going girly and using orange in your card. I decided to pull out these MME Bloom & Grow papers again and just went with the whole orange/green colour combo. I've used a nestie heart behind Tilda so I'm also going to enter this card into the Just Magnolia challenge, 'Hearts & Flowers'. Tilda is coloured with my copics. The sentiment was also in the Winter kit.
Thanks for stopping by today, I'm so glad you could visit. And as always, I appreciate any comments that you may leave.
Hugs,

A Magical Valentine Monday!

Good Morning Friends!
I hope this Monday morning finds you all well. Here we are already the first of February - can you believe that!! So, I bring you another Magical Monday with Paper Cupcake images. Today is 'I Heart You' - isn't this just the cutest teddy bear??
My DT sister, Sue Walsh, brings us our challenge this week. She wants us to use this image from Paper Cupcakes " I Heart You" and she would like to see the image used on a Valentine gift tag with some stitching somewhere on it. (Stitching can be done with thread or also can be hand drawn).
I used Distress Inks to colour in the teddy and added some additional distressing to the edges of the paper. The dp is Magnolia which I stitched onto the tag. The XO is an MS border punch - it's so fun!! The button is a brad and then I added a linen thread bow to the top for extra detail.
Now, there's a little story that goes with the sentiment. I thought to put this extra-small sentiment in the heart - it's perfect. When I stamped it, only half the sentiment came out - darn! Well, I figured I would try and re-stamp it, thinking all along how difficult & almost an impossible task that would be. Just to show how clear my head/hands/body has become since my detox, I re-stamped it perfectly - like absolutely spot on. Wow - that's a first for me, believe me!! It was quite a moment!
Anyways, enough of the waffle! I hope you can pop over to There's Magic in the Air and grab this sweet 'I Heart You' image and join in with this weeks challenge. Thanks for stopping by today - hopefully I'll get a chance to do a bit of crafting this morning whilst all the boys are at school! Have a great day and thanks for all the comments you leave - they really lift my spirits!
Hugs,
Danielle x
