Peachy Tilda!

Hello!
Great to see you here my friends - I hope you are all well! I have managed to give my craft room a spring clean today - wow, it feels so good to see my desk again, LOL!! It's amazing how the sunshine and +temps lifts ones spirits!
I snuck down to my craft room after lunch and put together this cutie Peachy Tilda card. She's coloured with my copics and cut out. I've followed Sue's sketch which is this weeks challenge over at Totally Papercrafts. The dp is MME 'Bloom & Grow' and the lace is my super Dollar Store find! The roses are also from the Dollar Store and the cherry blossoms come from Wild Orchid Crafts. The sentiment is from the Magnolia Winter kit. I sewed around the edges which have also been distressed. I sponged 'Tea Dye' distress ink on the nestie circle too. I will also enter this card into the Just Magnolia challenge this week for 'Birthdays'.
Thanks for popping by today - it really cheers me to know you've taken the time to come by, look and leave a comment!
We have a great looking forecast this week with temps rising to +5 and sunshine - maybe Spring is finally on its way! I miss the beautiful daffodils starting to bloom in the UK at this time - it's my wedding anniversary on Sunday and it always reminds me of the gorgeous daffodils that were in our photos! Have a wonderful afternoon and evening everyone!

A Calendar Easel Card

Hello!
Wow - it's Thursday already! This week seems to be flying by so fast! I hope you are all well!

Today I have used this sweet Tilda from the new Winter Club 'Raising the Ceiling' collection. I know many people were disappointed with this kit and I have to say I was a little let down with no winter images being included, but I do still love the images that make up the collection.

I have been wanting to make use of these little 2010 calendars that my mum sent me and I had seen this idea being used over on Debby's blog a while ago. I wanted to use papers and an image that would be ideal to look at all year round. I figured you can't go wrong with pink & aqua and flowers!
A close-up of Tilda

I'm really happy with the end result of this card. I've made it for a special friend so I just hope she likes it! I'm going to enter this into the Cute Card Thursday challenge for today which is 'Something New' - this Tilda is from the new collection and saw ink for the first time today!

Well, that's it for today folks! I hope you're all staying warm - it's chilly here again (-16oc) but the sun has finally shown its face after what seems like weeks!!

Thanks once again for your visit - I feel so blessed that you take the time to come and check out my creations and leave the beautiful comments that you do!

Hugs,

An old Magnolia ....

Hello folks!
I hope you are all enjoying this last day before school starts up tomorrow (for us anyway!!). The weather is miserable; snowy, windy, cold. So, what better way than to spend my Sunday wrapped up in my craft room!
I popped over to The Stamp Shoppe blog and saw that the new challenge this month is to use an old Magnolia image. Well, this was one of my very first purchases from Magnolia - wow, hasn't Tilda grown up and changed along the way! OK, so now just having reviewed the challenge it also calls for your oldest paper too - hmmm, forgot to check that one off - this is BG Wisteria - not old at all! Ah well, I'll still submit it and perhaps I'll do another one!
Anyways, Tilda is coloured with my Distress Inks. I followed the sketch off Friday Sketchers and you may not be able to tell, but I used a half-circle of acetate and embossed it. I didn't want to cover up the gorgeous Wisteria paper!! Ribbon, mini flowers, pearl brads and the sentiment finish off the card.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek today. I thank you for the comments you leave and hope you are able to take some inspiration from my card today.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

My first project of 2010!

Hello again!
Well, I did get a bit of crafting time in and I've made my first project of the year - this sweet little gift box. I used the largest scalloped square nestie and cut two out from brown cardstock. I then made a 3x3" box and attached the bottom and the top to the respective nesties. I haven't coloured up this cute Tilda in a while and thought she would be perfect atop this box lid. I coloured with my copics and cut her out. The MS frond punch and small roses and hydranges finish off the little flower ensemble. I added some ivory tulle under the nestie and tied at each end. Cream and pink pearls give the finishing touch.
Here's showing the open box (I filled it with flowers to show how you can gift it to someone or just keep your own stash in). Chocolates in this would be perfect for a little Valentine gift! Maybe even a special diamond .....ok, ok, I'm dreaming now, I know!! I gave a final finishing spray of Tattered Angels pearl mist (the camera has really picked it up!!).
Thanks so much for stopping by again! I'm so pleased I just got to craft on the first day of the new year - definitely makes me optimistic for making this a crafty year!!
Enjoy the rest of your day ..... it's still snowing here so not going anywhere!!

Happy Friday to you all!
Here is the last of my DT submission cards. I had this Tilda coloured up for a while and waiting to be used. She is coloured with copics. The design and layout of this card is very simple but with the paper being quite 'busy' I planned it that way! I used the hanging vine accessory stamp from Magnolia and placed Tilda over the top with pop dots. I added some Prima hydrangea flowers and wrapped rafia under the Tilda panel. The paper is Daisy D's. I hope you like it!
I'm laying low today as I have a migraine and the beginnings of a cold. Thanks for popping by for a visit today - I always appreciate you coming over! And thanks for your beautiful comments - they always lift my spirits! I'm so lucky to have such a great bunch of blogging buddies! Have a great start to the weekend.

Santa's Coming .....

Hello!
So today I get to show you a second card that I had made for my DT submission. I actually also did this one for the Magnolia Ink magazine but never heard back from them.
The papers are BG Wassail and the fireplace is a previous Magnolia christmas collection. I coloured with my copics and distressed the edges with my distressing tool and ink. I sewed around the panels. I added the vintage christmas flower soft mix to the fireplace garland and added adhesive pearls to the bows. Some lace and the sentiment finish off the card.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by today and leave me a comment - I love knowing you have visited!

A recipe for Tilda

Hi everyone!
Today I want to show you one of the cards that I submitted for the DT spot at The Little Stamp Shoppe. Unfortunately I didn't get chosen but I can now show off the cards that I made. Thank you so much for all your words of support and encouragement - they really do mean so much to me!
I really loved this card and had a lot of fun putting it together. The papers were obviously my source of colour inspiration for colouring Tilda. I coloured her with my copics. The papers are from BG Eskimo Kisses. I sewed around all the panels for extra detailing. I made the recipe from individual word stamps that I have. I distressed it with distress inks. Lace, tulle, MS branch punch and spacer with prima flower add all the finishing touches.
Thanks for stopping by today! I will show you the other cards I submitted tomorrow and Friday. I hope you enjoyed your visit over to my blog today and have time to leave me a comment. Thank you all so much!

Tilda with Presents

Happy Friday everyone!
I managed a card today - woohoo!! This is using the fabulous sketch by Jacque over at Friday Sketchers this week. I'm inking up this cute Tilda for the first time and have coloured her with my distress inks and Tombow markers. The paper is BG Eskimo Kisses and the panel behind Tilda I used a swirl stamp with versamark, clear embossed and distressed with distress inks. The snowflakes are an MS punch with a green adhesive jewel in he middle. I sewed around the main panel to add some extra detail and a thin burgundy grosgrain ribbon for a final touch. I got incredibly frustrated with tying the ribbon (I tied and re-tied it at least a dozen times, lol). Still not 100% happy with the way it is sitting, but oh well, it'll have to do! I gave the card a final spritzing with pearl Glimmer Mist to give it some extra sparkle!
Thanks for stopping by and visiting me - I really do appreciate it! Please leave a comment as I love to know who's visited so I can be sure to return the favour!
Have a great start to the weekend! And don't forget to sign up for my candy if you haven't already!!

Friday Sketchers - Snowflake Tilda

Hi there!
Sorry for the lack of posting this week - I was waiting until I could sit at my desk without having sneezing fits!!! So, here, by the skin of my teeth, I have a card with last weeks Friday Sketchers sketch layout challenge. Phew, cutting it fine I know, but I really liked the sketch and desperately wanted to participate in this one! So here it is, Tilda sitting on this sweet snowflake with this gorgeous Bo Bunny paper I recently purchased.
I coloured Tilda with my distress inks and Tombow markers on watercolour paper. The snowflake is from a sheet of die-cuts and the sentiment is from a winter set of stamps by Verve. It's a very simple card - the paper definitely takes full credit for the beauty of this card. Lilac adhesive pearls in each corner finish the look.
Thanks for stopping by and not giving up on me!! I really hope to have a bit more time to craft tomorrow and over the weekend. Thanks again for your wonderful comments - they really do mean so much to me!

A winter card ..... just because!

Happy Halloween everyone!!
I don't have any spooky cards for you but I do have a sweet winter scene with the gorgeous Tilda!
I'm not sure what you call this kind of card but I just received one which my mother made and had to give it a go! It's really easy and creates a wonderful dimensional scene. I used this sweet Tilda on her sled and coloured with copics and cut her out. The paper is Bo Bunny and the snowflakes are the MS punch on beautiful glittery paper. I used a nesties circle to die cut the aperture. The ribbon I received as part of my candy win from Bev a while back.
I will enter this card into the Winter Wonderland challenge this week as it's an open theme. Also, the November months theme over at The Little Stamp Shoppe is to create a non-traditional coloured christmas card (I think this qualifies don't you??).
A side view to show the inside layers to the card
Thanks for stopping by and many apologies for my lack of posting this week. I have been busy crafting just not able to show. So with that said I will have some exciting news to share with you all next week!
I wish you all a wonderful and safe Halloween. My boys are very excited and thankfully the rain seems to have stopped. I hope I can craft a bit more tomorrow and have something else to post! Thanks again for all your beautiful comments!

Hugs & Kisses from Tilda!

Hi everyone!
I haven't yet used this gorgeous Blueberry Tilda yet from the 'Yummy for your Tummy' collection so I decided I should! I've used the fabulous sketch layout from A Spoon Full of Sugar for this week and I will also enter this card into the Copic Challenge 'Black'. This is the first time I've coloured black hair and it is quite challenging!! Needless to say I need lots more practice, lol!!!
The papers are from WRMK. I distressed the edges and sewed around the back panel. Cream silk ribbon, a couple of small Prima flowers and some pearl brads (that I won in Bev's candy) finish the card off. The sentiment is from Stampology (bought from Wal-Mart).

Here's a close-up of my colouring

Well, that's it folks. Thanks for stopping by and I always love reading your beautiful comments - they really do make my day!!

Festive Wishes

Hello all!
I went with a festive card today and cut into my new BG Eskimo Kisses paper pad. I purchased this gorgeous branch stamp from The Stamp Barn knowing that it would be perfect for Tilda to sit on - and I was right!! Doesn't she look so cute sitting there?
I've coloured with my copics and went with this pretty deep pink to complement the green. I added loads of liquid applique and then glamour dust before heating it. I cut around the far end of the branch before using my oval nesties (my first time using that technique and I love it - so effective).
Ribbon, dew drops and a tree charm finish off the details on this card. The sentiment is from The Stamp Barn too.

A side view

A close-up of Tilda and the snowy branch!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your beautiful comments - they really brighten up my day! Hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

Fall Tilda

Hello friends!
A quick posting today as I'm just off to visit a friend this afternoon. I've coloured up this sweet Tilda. She was one of my very first Tilda purchases but I do think she's lovely! I've used the fabulous sketch by Mina over at Truly Scrumptious this week with the theme of Autumn. I've coloured Tilda with my Distress Inks and distressed the edges too. The back panel is embossed with the floral screen folder. I used 3 different grosgrain ribbons and a selection of leaves and buttons from my stash to embellish the card. The leaves blowing around Tilda are from a Fiskars corner leaf punch.
I hope you're all enjoying your day and getting your fingers inky!! :)

Tilda's Snowy Day!

Hi there!
After what has been an incredibly long week (and it's still only Thursday, lol) I managed to get a little bit of inky time to myself this morning. My son Joel was quite sick this week and Monday evening I ended up in hospital with him. He is fine now after having to take oral steroids for his breathing to improve. Scary moments I tell you, but thankfully my husband came home early from his business trip and is now back with us. The good news is that he didn't have H1N1, more likely just a regular flu which hit him particularly badly.
Anyways, enough of my family woes. I received this gorgeous Tilda image in a very sweet care package from my beautiful blogging friend, you know who you are!! Thanks a bunch!! This image was perfect for my new Bo Bunny papers which I've been dying to use. I coloured Tilda with my copics and pulled the colours from the paper. I used my fab new MS Icicle punch and used lots of stickles to make it sparkle! The sentiment is The Stamp Barn and the swirl is from my stash. I glimmer misted it and used Glamour Dust on it to add more sparkle! I actually think there's more glitter on me now than on my project, lol!!
Well, there you have it. Many thanks for all your supportive comments over the last few days - they really have meant a lot to me.
Hope you're all enjoying a beautiful day.

Welcome Baby Girl!

Yay for me - a second posting of the day! I made this sweet baby girl card using the fabulous Friday Sketchers sketch this week. I used some of my new K&Co baby paper - so adorable! This is actually Tilda with Sunflower but obviously I cut out the sunflower she is holding and added this other stamp from The Stamp Barn. I cut out the balloons and added gold thread for her to hold. I'm really happy with the way this card turned out - good thing too as my mojo has been seriously lost! I coloured with copics and added Prima flowers to finish off.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by again today - your visits are always so much appreciated!
Have a great evening!
Hugs,
Danielle x
EDIT I've just seen I won Bev's Whiff of Joy Blog Hop candy - woohoo - I'm so super excited! Thanks Bev!

Handmade with Love - Friday Sketchers Challenge

Happy Day everyone!
At last - I have a challenge card that I've done and can post - woohoo!!! I had this lovely Tilda already inked up and cut out and thought it would work beautifully with Jeanette's sketch this week on Friday Sketchers. Thanks Jeanette - it was a great one to work with!
I coloured Tilda with my Distress Inks and Tombow markers. The papers are from a new (to me) K&Co stack - Wild Raspberry - mmm, are they ever delish! The panel behind Tilda is embossed with the hearts folder and the sentiment is punched using a SU! flower punch.
Thank you all so much for your very kind and heartfelt wishes for my son - you have to be the kindest and most thoughtful blogging friends ever! I'm so touched to call you all my friends! He had his blood work done yesterday and was an absolute trooper - didn't even cry or squirm at the needle - I was so proud of him! Now we just have to wait until after Thanksgiving (Oct 13th) for the results.
It is cold here today but the sun seems to be making a big effort to come out! Nice after all the rain we've been having!
Thanks for stopping by and paying me a visit - I hope to have some more time to play a little later!
Hugs to you all,
Danielle x

Safari Edwin

Hello there!
Today I've finally put together a card using my gorgeous Safari Edwin (he's been coloured for ages and just sat in my box)! I've used the fabulous sketch from Friday Sketchers this week. I used a piece of scrapbook paper from stash for the octagonal panel. The back panel is embossed so that means I can enter this into the Just Magnolia challenge for this week, embossing!
Onto the card, I coloured with my copics. Edwin is adhered with 3D foam dots as are the jungle leaves. I used my airbrush to colour a white prima flower so it looks more like a jungle flower! The sentiment is computer generated which I die cut using the spellbinders tags. I ran brown ribbon through and adhered it to the card.
I'm really happy with the final result of this card. Magnolia has a special challenge on this weekend to create a winter card/project for exclusive publication in their Magnolia Ink magazine. Check out the link here. I'm thinking I might just enter it so I've been working on something this afternoon. Of course, I can't blog it but I figured I would have a go - they can only turn you down right?? I don't often enter these sorts of thing 'cos I don't figure I'm good enough, but what the heck, won't know if you don't try!!
Well, thanks for popping by! We're enjoying another glorious weekend of sunshine! My mother-in-law arrives tomorrow for a 2 wk visit so not too sure how much inky time I'll be getting in! I hope you're all enjoying your weekend! Thanks so much for all your beautiful comments - they are truly appreciated!

Friday Sketchers - Handmade with Love

Happy Friday everyone!
I have a big smile on my face with glorious sunshine leading the way into our long weekend! I finally got a little time today to get inky with some of my new Magnolia stamps and used the simple but great layout from Friday Sketchers this week. After viewing Rach's copic colouring tutorial (she is a copic genius!!) I played around with this image and did lots of tweaking and highlighting and have to say I'm quite thrilled with the result! Didn't think I'd ever be able to get to the point of achieving this shading - practice really does help perfect things!! I'm still far from perfect though, lol!!!
I rotated the sketch 90 degrees so it could accommodate Tilda better. My papers are from a K&Co stack in my stash and the ribbon is SU! grosgrain. I used the SU! scalloped circle punch for the sentiment. I added some simple stitching detail to each panel too.
Thanks for stopping by today and taking the time to leave a comment! I hope you enjoy a fabulous Labor Day weekend and get lots of sunshine wherever you are!
Hugs,
Danielle x

Just sitting here thinking of you ....

Happy Monday everyone!
The quiet in my house is deafening - yes, you guessed it, my boys have gone back to school! I vowed to leave my housework until tomorrow so I could just sit back and enjoy my little guy and some peaceful crafting time today! And this I did.
My new Magnolia Fall kit arrived in the mail at the end of last week and I just adore the new Tilda and Edwin images. This I think has to be one of my new favourites! I don't usually colour in Tilda as a blonde but for some reason this image screamed 'blonde' at me!! I also pulled out my oranges which again is not a first colour choice but I loved the end result. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that some of my new copic colours are orange!!
So onto the card. I've used the fabulous sketch from Claudia this week over at Friday Sketchers. I pulled out my gorgeous MME papers which I painfully cut into, lol! I used the recipe over at the Magnolia Down Under Challenge blog - 1 flower, 2 ribbons, 3 brads and 4 papers. Tilda is sitting on my new nesties labels 8 which is very much like the SU! Top Note die cut.
Thanks for stopping over at my blog today and taking the time to look and leave a comment. As always, your comments are so much appreciated! I hope you all are having a wonderful day!

Cute Card Thursday - Tilda dipping her toes!

Hi there!
I managed to get this card done over the weekend and found these fabulous bright papers at a local store a few weekends back. This card fits in perfectly with the Cute Card Thursday theme this week 'At the Beach'. A dear friend of mine *waving at you Karen* stamped me out some of the new Magnolia summer kit images (which I had neglected to sign up for). Tilda is coloured with copics (she's an older image) as are the ring and water.
The layout is pretty plain and simple. I used some tulle to run behind the image and tied to the side with a pretty flip-flop charm from Bunny-Zoe's on-line craft store. The flower is prima.
I'll be back later to announce the winner of the Santa stamp! Thanks for stopping by and hope you're enjoying gorgeous sunshine like we are!
Hugs,
Danielle x
