A Christmas Gift Card Holder - Winter Wonderland Challenge

Hi everyone!
Welcome to the first of our new Friday challenge days at Winter Wonderland!  What an amazing number of challengers we had last week - keep it up my crafty friends!!
This week it's my turn to host the challenge and I chose ' Christmas Gift Card Holder'.  I find I need a fair few of these over the Christmas period as I tend to send money to family back home for the holidays.  I found this gorgeous beanie hat gift card holder tutorial here and decided to give it a go - it is so super easy - and quick!!  Paper is Bo Bunny and silver ribbon is from stash.

I hope you're able to pop over to Winter Wonderland and join in with this weeks challenge - there's another fab prize up for grabs too!  The DT girls have certainly offered up some amazing inspiration for everyone too!  I have also entered this card holder into Papertake Weekly for their challenge 'Do Something Different'.
Another week with little crafting time.  I have my copic certification course coming up on Sunday which I can't wait for - I am SO excited!!!  Mabe I'll actually be able to get some lovely Magnolia images coloured up!
I hope you all enjoy a wonderful day and a fabulous start to your weekend!  Let's hope the beautiful sunshine keeps shining on everyone!

For the Bride & Groom ....

Hi there!
What a busy weekend!!  Josh & I volunteered our time Saturday morning for set-up of the ACCESO charity event - he didn't realise how tiring it was to lay dinner places for 265 guests, lol!!!  I was very proud of him and his efforts.  Then yesterday I spent the day with hubby & kids tidying up the back yard, picking weeds, planting trees and generally sprucing things up.  NO inky time whatsoever.
And then this morning I realised that I had a wedding card commission and I hadn't done it - oops!  Thankfully Willow & Oakley were there to rescue me!  Love these images and have to admit to them being inked up for the first time for this card (slap wrist!!).  I coloured with my copics - it's not very clear but on Willow's dress I used E000 for very subtle highlights - it looks lovely IRL.  I used flower soft for her floral headress and added silver adhesive pearls for Oakley's waistcoast!  Don't they look such a handsome bride & groom!
My friend asked for the easel style card which I love doing.  The paprs are from DCWV wedding stack and I matted the main image with pink & black.  A cream ribbon and rose finish off the main panel.

Close-up pic of Willow & Oakley

Thanks so much for your visit and apologies for my lack of posting recently.  I'm finding it a little challenging to get into my craft room at the moment - partly because of the weather, partly my mojo has just upped & left! I think I need a good clean out down there too - my desk is desperately overun with paper scraps & general untidiness!
I hope you all enjoy a wonderful day and thanks again for any comments you leave.  Don't forget to sign up for my candy!!

IT'S HERE - The PaperWorksCo Blog Hop!!!!

Hi everyone!

Wow - this is a super exciting day for me and I sure hope you can join in with the fun!

Firstly, Peggy at PaperWorksCo asked me to guest design for the HUGE launch of their new exclusive stamp line, designed by the fabulously and uber talented Rachelle Anne Miller (RAM) no less!!  I am incredibly honoured to be a part of this launch and really hope you are able to blog hop with us and check out all her gorgeous new images which are being showcased by the amazingly talented PWCO design team & guest designers.

If you have come by Kristy's blog then you're well on your way, if not, you will want to start back with Tinla to be sure you're not missing out on all the yumminess!!

ME - You are Here

For my card I used the ever-so-sweet mouse image - isn't he just adorable!  I found this fabulous 'middle' step card tutorial here and just had to give it a try.  I coloured in with my copics and used the gorgeous MME 'Be Loved' papers from PWCO (of course!!).  Flowers are from stash and I used the MS frond punch for the leaves.  The sentiment is also part of the new RAM release.  This gorgeous mouse image can be found here in the PaperWorksCo store.

There is also some lovely blog candy up for offer courtesy of the lovely Peggy at PWCO - be sure to complete the hop and show all the talented ladies your love by leaving a comment!  The candy will get drawn next Friday (April 30th).  Just pop your name on Mr Linky at the end of the post  & leave a comment - that`s all you need to do!  The lovely Bella is next on the blog hop so keep on hopping ....!!

Thanks so much for visiting again - I really do appreciate it and for all the lovely comments you leave!  Have a fantastic Friday and start to the weekend!  And don't forget to pop back to my earlier post today for Winter Wonderland if you missed it!

Re-launch of Winter Wonderland Challenges!!

Welcome to the fabulous re-launch of the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog! We have decided to make the change over from a Sunday challenge to Friday, thereby allowing more of you lovely crafting people to have more time to join in with our challenges!

So with the re-launch comes a fabulous theme Anything Goes for Christmas. This week we are sponsored by both Janet at Pink Gem Designs and a $15 gift certificate for Simon Says Stamp. Wow - two chances to win this week - how exciting is that! Also, lots of the DT girls have individual blog candies going on in conjunction with participating in the Winter Wonderland challenges!

So I decided to try something a little different with my card this week. I have used lots of layers and created apertures using the nesties Labels 8. My Magnolia winter trees and Edwin's snowman make up this sweet winter scene. I coloured with copics and added a fence using the MS punch. Snowflakes are also MS. Liquid applique with stickles are used for the snow effects.  Just Magnolia this week has 'Anything Goes' too so I will enter this card in their challenge.  Also, Magnolia Stamp Lovers still have the theme 'Create a Scene' so I will enter there again with this card.

I'll be back a bit later with my card for the fantastic PaperWorksCo bloghop so hope you can come back for that!
Thanks for your visit today and I hope you've been able to find some inspiration here to take away with you! I love your comments so please leave one if you have the time! Take care and enjoy a fabulous start to the weekend.

Exciting news to share ....!!!!

YES!!!  That's right - I'VE BEEN PUBLISHED!!!!  Can you tell I'm just a tad excited ....LOL!!!

Scrapbook News & Review (SNR) were calling for 'High French Fashion' for part of their April's card themes so I submitted my 1920's Charleston dancer card that I made for the 100th birthday back in March.  I was so excited when SNR said they would be publishing my card!  This is my first publication and I do have to thank a fellow blogger & friend for suggesting I submit the card - you know who you are!!

I am unable to show the card for 30 days but after that it will be back in its rightful spot!!  If, however, you subscribe to SNR it will be there under 'Vintage French Fashion' - hope you're able to check it out!

Well, that has put a spring in my step today and started my Wednesday morning off like a treat!! :)
Hope you all enjoy your day too!

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you all know I have been so busy the last few days - hubby was away in California so I was single-parenting most of last week and the weekend!!  I haven't stepped foot in my craft room for what seems way too long.  This morning I am helping out in Jacob's classroom with a visiting scientist - lots of bugs & wriggly things - he's very excited!!
Hopefully I'll get a chance to play a little later - just wanted you to know I haven't forgotten about my blog - this fine weather is not allowing me to stay in and craft!!
I hope I can get back later with some blog hopping and something to post!
Until then .......... have a great day!

Tilda with 3 flowers

Hello!
Geez, the last couple of days have been busy with lots of running around and of course enjoying the beautiful sunshine we've been having.  Today it has turned a little gloomy and we have the proverbial April Showers!!

I coloured up this beautiful Tilda with my copics today and put together this card.   I used the sketch from Stamp with Fun.  Also, Papertake Weekly challenge has the theme of 'Cutie Pie' - well, I definitely think this Tilda is cute!  Paper is from BG Marrakech pad and I used the MS Trellis border punch.  The sentiment is from The Stamp Barn.  I added stickles to the flowers for some added sparkle and glam to the card!  The bow is tied with the bow-easy tool.

Thanks for stopping by - hopefully I'll get a chance to craft a little more with rain forecast for the next 4 days!  Hubby is away in California too so maybe extra crafty time is on the agenda!  I appreciate your visit and for any comments you may leave!  I always loving reading them!

Wishing you Sunshine!!

I'm loving the challenges out and about in blogland this week and also have been blessed with some of the new Magnolia Easter Collection images - what more could a girl want?? LOL
I have loved this sweet Tilda with Bike since she was released last summer.  I have coloured her with my copics and played around with some of the new pinks I just added to my collection. The open fence is a new release image and also coloured with my copics.  I have followed the sketch from this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge - it was a really fun one to play with!  The papers are from MME Pretty Please - talk about yummy!!  I disressed the edges of the image with Stormy Sky & Tumbled Glass Distress Inks.  Stickles have been added to some of the magnolia flower centers.  Sentiment is from The Stamp Barn and cut with a nesties label die.  The small retro flower punch was used for the little flowers with adhesive pearls for the centers.  Grosgrain ribbon is from stash.

I'm also entering this into these other challenges:-

Cupcake Craft Challenges - 'Childhood Memories'
Sketch Saturday - Sketch
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - 'Create a Scene'
The Stamp Shoppe - 'Spring' (card #2)

Thanks for stopping by today - I love to have you visit and thank you so much for your lovely comments!  They are always so much appreciated!

A Spring Tilda!

Good Morning all!
Thanks for all your well wishes - I'm feeling much better and got a chance to craft yesterday after all!
I have this new sweet Spring Tilda to show you today.  I received this beautiful image from my sweet friend, Linda, thanks so much!!  She is coloured with my copics and trimmed out.  I made Tilda a red-head for the first time - do you like her with auburn hair?  I'm quite pleased with it!  The paper is from the gorgeous new BG Green At Heart pad and I followed the sketch over at Friday Sketchers this week.  The cherry blossom flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and edged with lots of lovely sparkly Stickles!  I punched out branches using the MS punch and machine stitched around the edges of the card and panels.  The ribbon is from stash and I added a sweet butterfly embellishment that I picked up in the Dollar Store - adds more of a 'spring' touch to the card don't you think?!  I used Flower Soft for the flowers in Tilda's basket.
I spritzed the card with Tattered Angels Pearl mist so apologies for how the camera has picked it up in the photo!  All the panels are distressed with my Tim Hotlz distressing tool.

I've managed to get this card into quite a few challenges:
Friday Sketchers - Sketch by Beatrix
Quixotic Challenges - Joys of Spring
Totally Papercrafts - Distressing
Stamp Something - Stitch Something
The Stamp Shoppe - Pastels/Spring
Just Magnolia - Punch it Out!
Thanks so much for stopping by today - I hope you all have a wonderful start to the week!  I appreciate all the comments you leave - they bring a ray of sunshine to my day!

Winter Wonderland - Let's see some embossing!!

Hi there!
So sorry I haven't been around for the last few days - I seem to have been hit with the flu!  Lots of aches & pains and fatigue which has definitely sent my mojo off to never-never land!!!  Hopefully it'll come back soon - I'm already feeling better today ... :)
Anyways, the challenge over at Winter Wonderland this week is set by our lovely Avril - embossing.  Poor Avril is having computer problems so we are missing her wonderful contributions until she gets that remedied.
I decided to not touch my cuttlebug this time for embossing but to show you something different - embossing paste with a brass template.  This is such a fun technique and I love the simple and quick results that can be achieved.  Apologies for the glare off the acetate on the picture - can't figure out how to edit that properly!!  I used the lovely NOEL template and placed it on a piece of acetate (adhered down with masking tape).  I used white embossing paste and whilst it was still wet I sprinkled it with glamour dust to get all the sparkle.  Leave it to dry for a good few hours.
Th dp is from stash (sorry, don't remember the name) and I used glue dots in the corners to place down the acetate.  Flat sticky brads cover the dot!
I hope you like it and be sure to pop on over to Winter Wonderland to see all my teamies fabulous embossed creations this week!  I hope you're able to join in with this weeks challenge - we'd love to see you there!  There is also lots of new & exciting news from the blog - this challenge will last until April 22nd as our challenges are moving to a FRIDAY - yes, FRIDAY!!!
I'm also going to enter this into Totally Gorjuss which has texture for their challenge this week.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I sure hope I can get down to my craft room and play a little later today.  Thank you too for all your lovely comments - they are truly appreciated!

My stationery box for charity

I hope you're all well.  My day did not start off as planned - 7.45am the power went out and stayed off for 2 hours!  Then, just as I settle into my craft room to create I get a phone call from school saying my little guy is not feeling well.  I pick him up and he prompty starts throwing up :(   The up-side is that he slept all day so I managed to craft aferall!

I've been busy creating another stationery box - this time for a charity event I volunteer for.  We always hold a silent auction during the event so instead of doing just cards, I thought I'd do this box for something different.

The set of animal stamps is from SU! and inked with Memento Rich Cocoa.  The paper is from a Costco stash.  I used different nestie label sets on the cards, embossing folders, MS zigzag punch and lots of raffia!

The tags are stamped with each animal design then distress inked around the edges with Tea Dye.

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit.  I love when you're able to come by and leave a comment - I enjoy reading them so much!  I hope I'm able to sit down and catch up on some commenting tonight - I just haven't had time to blog hop today!

Winter Wonderland - A Christmas Bunny!

I would like to start by wishing you all a VERY HAPPY EASTER and many blessings to you all!  I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful long weekend with your loved ones.
We have had a few more changes over at Winter Wonderland this past week so pop on over to the blog and read all the latest happenings!  Thank you to all of you who participated in last weeks challenge - it's always so fun to pop onto your blogs and admire your creations!
Well, we have a wonderful sketch for you to play with again with the added element of adding a bunny to your Christmas card!    Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's inspiring cards! Whimsy Stamps is also offering up a gift $15 certificate to this weeks winner - so what are you waiting for!!!
This was quite a challenge for me and in the end I went with this cute Magnolia stamp.  I don't know if you can fully 'get' the card but I was aiming for the dp to look like an opened box and for Tilda to be hugging her new bunny - her Christmas gift!  I hope my idea worked, lol!!!
Tilda and bunny are coloured with copic markers and the dp is BG Wassail.  Sentiment is from The Stamp Barn and ribbon is from stash.  I also paper pierced the top two corners to add some detail.  I sewed around the main panel with my sewing machine.
I wanted to bring your attention to our DT member, Janet, is offering up some fab candy to celebrate her joining the Winter Wonderland DT.  It's a gorgeous set of stamps so be sure to pop over and join in - remember, you need to create a card for this weeks challenge to be able to participate!
I've also added this card to Charisma Cardz Challenge which is 'Animal Magic' this week.  Also, Crafty Creations Challenges  and Papertake Weekly are 'Anything Goes'.
I would also like to thank Fiona for passing on this beautiful award to me.  Translated it reads 'This blog is charming'.  I would like to pass this on to all my fellow Winter Wonderland DT sisters who inspire me daily with their creativity and dedication!

Thank you for your visit today and for taking the time to stop by.  I always love having you here and reading your comments.  They are always such a source of inspiration to me!  I hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend and enjoying fine weather wherever you are.  We have been expeiencing record-breaking temps for this time of year - it was 29oc yesterday!  Sitting in the back garden, beer in hand, kids playing, ribs on the BBQ - can't get better than that!!!

A Basketful of Eggs!

Happy Good Friday to you all!
I hope you are all well and getting prepared for the Easter weekend ahead!  I have this card to show you today that I put together yesterday afternoon.  This sweet CC Designs image is one I received from Christine in a RAK.  I coloured her with my copics - I treated myself to 10 new colours yesterday too - Wallacks have a fabulous Spring sale on right now and copics are priced at an unbelievable $5.99!!!  I got some beautiful shades of blue and those are the colours I used to colour her dress in.
Papers are from a K&Co stack and the sketch is this weeks Mojo Monday sketch challenge.  I added a thin strip of blue velvet ribbon with some sheer polka dot ribbon over the top.  The bow was made with the bow-easy.  I added stickles to her eggs and a pale blue gem on the middle panel.  Cute Card Thursday's challenge is 'So Egg-citing' so I will enter this card in there too!
Thanks for your visit today - I always enjoy seeing you here!  I hope I get a chance to get my fingers inky although we are forecast stunning weather - up to 27oc so we have lots of outdoor activities planned for the weekend!  Maybe I'll actually be able to do the kids' easter egg hunt outside this year - that'll be a first!!!
Enjoy your day everyone!
Hugs,
Danielle x
