My Friend - One card three challenges!

Hi everyone!

I finally got a chance to play in my craft room this morning! Yesterday the kids had a PD Day from school and whilst it was freezing outside (-31oc in the wind chill) we kept busy together inside. It's not that much warmer today either but I have to say it's wonderful to see the sun shining!

So I pulled out some PB stamps today and decided to use this cute image for the first challenge over at Totally Papercrafts - Friends. I followed Jeanette's fabulous sketch over at Friday Sketchers and used flowery papers and a prima flower which can be entered in for Cute Card Thursday's challenge - Blooming Gorgeous.

I coloured this sweet image in with my Distress Inks and sponged a little Broken China onto the background to create some sky. I used the MS Doily border punch and my oval nesties for the sentiment. The sentiment stamp is from The Stamp Barn. I think the paper is Daisy D's but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, there it is. It's my hubby's 40th birthday today we're just chilling out at home (too cold to go out, lol). He's a quiet, homey kinda guy so doesn't want a big deal so we're having a nice home-cooked meal in together tonight as a family.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking the time to view my work. I love your visits and really appreciate all the comments you leave. I hope you're enjoying a fabulous weekend!

A reminder to all crafters .....

Karen, over at Karen's Doodles is unfortunately coming across people who are sharing free and bought digi images of hers with others, a clear violation of her Angel Policy. As we all know, we are so blessed to have amazing artists sharing their talent with us crafters. It is so sad that people out there feel the need to 'steal' these images - purchasing a digi image is really quite inexpensive. Please be sure to support these fantastic artists by purchasing their images if you really want them!

Cute Card Thursday - Fairy Friends

Hi there!
I'm just getting this card into Cute Card Thursday's challenge by the skin of my teeth, lol! Karen over at Karen's Doodles just recently posted this new fairy image - isn't she just the sweetest!! I decided to purchase her and make it my image for this weeks challenge.
I pulled out my MME Bloom & Grow papers and coloured her with like colours using my copics. I kept the layout pretty simple and found this sweet sentiment in my stash of $1.50 stamps from Michaels. The flowers are Prima and I made by bow using the Bow-Easy.
Thanks for stopping by today and taking a look - I hope you found some inspiration with the card I posted. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment too - I love to read them!

Miss Anya meets Friday Sketchers

Good morning!
I hope you are all well - after a rainy +8oc day yesterday we now have fluffy snow falling down! What a mix of weather January is turning out to be! A quick post today as I have some commissions that I need to get on with!
I was asked to make this sweet Anya card for a birthday. This fabulous dp was a gift from my sweet friend Lori - thanks sweetie *waving at you*!! I coloured Anya with my Distress Inks and have to say I'm quite thrilled with the result! I have to be honest, since doing this detox my head is incredibly clear and I've done some things that have completely amazed me the last few days!! I used the fabulous layout over at Friday Sketchers this week which I thought worked beautifully with this image. Below is a quick peek at how I finished the inside.

Thanks for stopping by today and paying me a visit - I love to see you here. Thanks too for your beautiful comments.

It's Magical Monday with Paper Cupcakes!

Welcome!
Here we are already at the last Monday of January - wow - time seems to be flying by in this new year!

Today, over at There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes Nina has this super cute image 'Think Love' to share with everyone. Kim is our challenge host this week and she has asked us to Use the image on a treat box/bag/holder of some kind. I decided to make one of these sweet boxes again - the base and the top made with the largest of the scalloped square nesties. The image is coloured with my copics, cut out and placed on an oval nesties. I used dew drops for her thought bubbles going to the sweet heart that is all glittered up! I added a red heart ribbon for a finishing touch.

It's a really simple box to create and it's perfect for some choccies, gift card, or even a special piece of bling!! Mmm, must leave it out for my hubby to put something in it for me, lol!!! I don't mind that I have to make my own giftwrap!!
I really hope you're able to pop on over and grab this freebie image from Nina and take up this weeks challenge. There's a free image from her store, Paper Cupcakes, as this weeks prize.

Thanks so much for visiting me today - as always, your visits are hugely appreciated! I thank you too for taking the time to leave a comment!

My first DT card for Winter Wonderland Challenge - A sketch

Hello and Welcome!
I hope your Sunday is going well and that you're doing what you love, whatever that may be! Today is my first posting as an official DT member for the Winter Wonderland challenge blog! This week, Pascale has challenged us with a sketch so be sure to pop on over and join in with the fun!
I came across Karen's Doodles this week - wow - what an amazingly talented artist/illustrator! Be sure to check out her blog - her images are gorgeous! She has a 400 follower freebie giveaway going on too so you get to choose any free image from her collection. I chose this one - isn't she just a darling little angel? I coloured her with my copics and used the gorgeous Magnolia paper from the christmas collection as my background. I pulled colours from there to work with on the image. The strip of music paper is also Magnolia. The sweet hydrangea flowers are from stash as is the lace and corner embellishment. The sentiment is from my stash (sorry, can't remember the company). I tweaked the sketch very slightly to make it work on my card (hope that's ok!!).
So, there you have it. Thanks a bunch for popping over today and be sure to check out the rest of the fabulous DT's creations - they're all so inspiring! I appreciate your visit and any comments that you may leave! Enjoy the rest of your day ....

Pop-Up Twirl Card

Hi everyone!
I hope this Thursday finds you all well. I found this adorable tutorial over on Splitcoast Stampers yesterday and just had to give it a go. This card is a Pop-Up Twirl card. The tutorial can be found here.
The mechanics on the inside of the card (picture below) show that when the card is opened the middle panel with the I'm Yours heart on it twists. You create a pulley system - it is so fun!
The main image on the card is very simply put together - an embossed hearts panel with a stamped heart image from The Stamp Barn. A bow and nesties labels 8 were used to complete the card.
If you click on the tutorial be sure to watch the video as it shows the card in motion and definitely helps with putting the card together.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. It is a short post as I have some clearing out to do as we're having our water heater replaced with a new energy efficient 'green' one. The room is filled with boxes of 'stuff' (which I have to say is not mine!!) but still need to come out the way to make room for the men to work! Hopefully it won't take too long.
I hope you all enjoy a wonderful day and thanks for any comments that you may leave!

Winter Wonderland Colour Challenge with Friday Sketchers

Hello again!
Yay - I'm back with a posting! I put this together really quickly this morning - it helped already having this sweet Miss Gorjuss girl already coloured up in my stash! How lucky that it was the right colours!!
I used this weeks sketch from Friday Sketchers by the wonderful Jacque. I loved the easy layout! I embossed the panels and punched the bottom one with an MS border punch. The lovely silk bow was made on my ever-so-brilliant bow-easy! Miss Gorjuss was coloured with copics and she has been set on the deckled nesties rectangles . The colour combo is this weeks challenge over at Winter Wonderland. It's such a pretty colour combo and not normally one I would jump at doing but I will definitely play with it again!
Thanks for stopping by today - I always appreciate your visits and comments that you leave. Thanks for the well wishes too - I'm feeling much better today and I know as the days go on with the detox everything improves!
I hope you all enjoy a wonderful day.

A quick update .....

Hi everyone
I just wanted to give a quick update with regards to my detox. It is going well although the feelings of fatigue, headache and nausea hit me really bad the first night. I felt like I was suddenly overwhelmed with the stomach flu!
Yesterday was better and this morning I feel somewhat brighter too. With this in mind I just haven't felt like doing anything, and I literally mean anything!! I never watch daytime TV but yesterday I did 'cos it was the easiest thing to do with my head in such a fog, lol! Anyhows, hopefully today I will get a chance to get into my craft room.
The positive side to all of this, yes, there has to be a positive right? I'm down 3lbs!!!
Hopefully will be back later with a project to share.
Hugs,

Love is .....A Magical Monday!

Hello everyone!
Thanks for popping by for another Magical Monday with There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes! Nina has this super cute elephant image 'Tons of Love' as a freebie with todays challenge. Our challenge host is Olga this week and she has requested RBG's - Red Ribbon, Buttons and Glitter (or something that sparkles) to be included on the card.
I coloured this image with my copics and dolled her up and painted her finger and toe nails, lol!! I thought this red polka dot paper was really fun and that gave me the idea to use the buttons as 'balls' and to try and achieve a circus feel to the card. I used red ric-rac for my ribbon and then I punched out some glittery hearts which she's blowing out of her trunk!
Again, a very simple layout but I think there's enough going on with the polka dot paper that I didn't want to overshadow that!
On a personal note I am starting a herbal detox 12 day programme today to try and get rid of excess toxins and 'stuff' from the over-indulgent christmas period! I'm hoping it will be the kick start I need to reaching my goal of losing 30-40lbs before my 40th birthday (this November)!!! I've never done one before so I'm not really too sure what to expect although I've been warned to possibly experience headaches, nausea, fatigue and mild flu-like symptoms. I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run!
Ooops, sorry for the long waffle! Thanks for your visit today - I love having you stop by and I really hope you have the time to pop on over to TMITA and check out my fabulous DT's work and grab the image for yourself and join in!
Hope you all enjoy a great day!

No card - but some VERY EXCITING NEWS instead!!!

Hello friends!
I hope this Sunday finds you all well. The last couple of days have been busy for me preparing and doing my class at Heather's yesterday. It was a huge success and I have to say the group of ladies were a ton of fun!!
So, unfortunately I don't have anything to post up today but hopefully I'll get into my craft room today and create. I do, however, have some fantastic news that I want to share with everyone. A challenge blog that I took part in a lot before Christmas was Winter Wonderland and a couple of weeks ago they had a DT call ....... and YES, I was asked to join the DT Team, woohoo!!! I am thrilled beyond words - other than it being the perfect motivation to keep those Christmas cards coming, the ladies are fabulous and super talented and I can't wait to start working with them all! They sound like a really fun, relaxed bunch of girls - just like me, lol!!!
Oooo, I just knew 2010 was going to be a good year! Be sure to check out this weeks Winter Wonderland challenge - it's a colour combo - how fun!!
I would like to thank all of you, my blogging friends, for your continuous support. You all know that I have tried out for DT positions and have been unsuccessful so far so you know how much this all means to me. I couldn't have done it without you supporting me all the way!

A flower for you .....

Welcome!
So glad you could stop by today and take a peek on my blog! I managed to make a couple of cards with this weeks sketch over at Friday Sketchers. I used this sweet Hanglar image - isn't she the cutest!
I coloured with copic markers and pulled out colours from the papers. This was my first attempt at this sketch and I don't think I did the angled rectangles very well - but ah well, all part of the learning process right?! I added a cream silk ribbon and bow (using my bow-easy) and added a sweet charm that says 'friend' on it. I did some zig-zag sewing around the edges - don't think that was particularly straight either!! Geez, I'm doing a lot of self-criticism on this card today!
Anyways, I'm off to my craft room to prep for my class on Saturday! Hope you all enjoy a wonderful day whatever you're doing.
Thanks for your visit and for any lovely comments you may leave. Much appreciated as always!

Miss Anya - You're Special

Welcome and thanks for stopping by today to take a peek! I have finally inked up this gorgeous new Anya image that I've had sitting for a while! I love these and just hadn't had the time to ink her up until now. And I do think it's the perfect image for my niece who is turning 12. So this will be her birthday card.
I'm also able to join in with a couple of challenges - the layout is the sketch over at the Winter Wonderland challenge blog. Also, Cupcake Craft Challenges has the theme of 'Going Girly' - do you think this is girly enough??
I coloured Anya with my copics and the gorgeous paper is from K&Co. Ribbon is from stash and the bow is tied with the bow-easy tool. Sentiment is from EK Success and punched out with the SU! word window punch. Pearls are from stash.
Thanks again for your visit and for any lovely comments you may leave. I'm off to get this card in the post - those January birthdays always seem to creep up on me and I get them into the mail late!!

Winter Birthday Wishes

Hi there!
Great to see you here and I hope you like what I've posted up today. I have managed to include a few challenges on this one card - MDUC for 'Stamp with Another Use', Sketch Saturday for the sketch layout and Stamp with Fun which is to use snowflakes. Woohoo - 3 challenges with 1 card - way to go!
So I inked up this gorgeous Tilda from the new So Jolly Christmas Collection. I thought it make a perfect winter birthday card - I'm sending it off to my goddaughter who turns 13 (tomorrow actually, so I guess it'll be late, oops). I coloured with my copics and pretty much followed the colour scheme of the paper I chose to work with. The snowflakes are MS punch and the sentiment is from The Stamp Barn.
I hope you're all enjoying a fabulous day. We have beautiful blue skies and sunshine here today but it still remains very chilly (-21oc with the wind chill, bbbrrrr). Thanks for popping over for a visit today - you are always so very welcome and I thank you for the comments you leave!

A Truly Scrumptious Challenge Card

Hello!
I've been doing so well on challenges recently and here I am able to add to another one! This sketch is by the fabulous Mina for Truly Scrumptious. Again, I've used the MME papers from my fabulous PWCO Papercard Kit - 'Be Loved'.
I coloured in the gorgeous Hanglar image with my copics and matched the colours to the papers as best I could. I took white Prima flowers and used my copic airbrush system with R22 to colour match them. Some beautiful spacers with pale green brads, glimmer mist and glamour dust finish the flowers off. I used an SU! sentiment and added the gorgeous decorative brad that was included in the PWCO kit.
Well, that's it for today folks! I'm glad I even got a second posting in! I hope you all enjoy a wonderful evening - I'll be watching 'The Bachelor' - I was pretty smitten with Jake on 'The Bachelorette' and can't wait to watch this season. He is such delicious eye candy, lol, besides having his upstanding morals and values! Enough of my waffle ....
Thanks for your visit and hopefully I'll do some blog hopping a little later too. Hubby went off to Paris today so my next 4 evenings are free (once the kids are in bed that is)!!!!
Hugs,

A Magical Monday with Miss Kitty!

Good Monday Morning to you all!
I hope this finds you all well and ready to start another week! Here we are with another digi image from There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes - Miss Kitty! Isn't she sweet! The perfect image for a little girls' birthday or such occasion. Today I set the challenge and I chose to use "stripes" on your project, other than what's already on the image!!
I found this paper in my stash and went with that and pulled the colours from there. Miss Kitty is coloured with my copics. I think my mojo must still have been in sleepy mode as I have to admit to being a little stumped as to how best showcase this image. I kept things pretty simple and added some lovely silk ribbon and tied a bow (with my bow-easy). I made some sweet little flowers from my punch and added a diamond gem in the center of each. A couple of dew drops in opposite corners add the final touch.
Thanks for taking the time to look today - I appreciate it so much! Hopefully you can pop on over to TMITA/PCC and take up the challenge this week - it would be great to see you there! Be sure to check out my fellow DT's amazing work too!
I wish you all a beautiful day!

Just Magnolia - Happy {Heart} Day

Hello my friends!
A Happy Sunday to you all - I hope you're enjoying the weekend and managing to get those fingers really inky, lol!!!
I made this card yesterday with the Just Magnolia challenge in mind - Paper Pleating. I won the January Paper Card Kit from Paper Works Co at the release of their last stamp set. And they are gorgeous!! They're from the new My Minds Eye 'Be Loved' range. I am not a huge peachy colour fan but these papers are just wow! I love them. The kit includes cardstock, dp, MME 'Be Loved' accessories, ribbons and embellishments - enough to make at least 10 cards!! What a prize!
So, knowing what papers I wanted to use I went ahead and started colouring Tilda on my Neenah cardstock (love this stuff) with my copics. I chose this new image from the 'Raising the Ceiling' collection. I decided to paper pleat a 'ladder' so it gives the effect that Tilda has climbed up and is sitting on the rungs. I used the MS Heart Lace punch either side of the paper pleating. I have managed to use all my paper cut offs on this card. I used some white tulle to make a bow. The sentiment I just picked up in Michaels in the $1.50 bin. I added 3 pearls in the other 2 corners. And because I used a wack of new stash on this card I'm also going to enter it into the Cute Card Thursday challenge - All New.
I'm really pleased with how this turned out- Mina gave a fantastic tutorial on paper pleating so made that element to the card quite easy! Thanks for visiting today - I hope you enjoy the card I made and maybe you'll get time to enter into the Just Magnolia challenge this week too!
Enjoy your day whatever you're doing!

Edwin's Adventures .... A Shadow-Box card

Hello my friends!
This is the last of my cards for my class at Heather's next Saturday. I decided to use Edwin - he so often gets neglected and passed over for the beautiful Tilda, but I feel bad 'cos he really is such a cutie too!
I decided to send Edwin on a safari adventure and the shadow-box style card is perfect for incorporating many images onto one card. I sure wish I was going with him.......brings back lovely memories of the safari I did take! The images are coloured with my copics. We will be colouring the images though with Tombow markers in the class. I put the little stool in the other corner and even though I don't have the cat it would sit beautifully on there to add some extra detail should you wish. I would have liked Magnolia to have included some 'adventure' type sentiments or postage stamps like they have in their christmas collections. Maybe they'll think about adding some as they would be perfect to go with these images!
I didn't go with any embellishments on this card - I wanted the images to just lead the way! The aperture is cut out with the largest square nestie. I added glossy accents to the jeep's windows to give the look of glass (hard to see in the picture).
There you have it. Looking out of my window I know where I'd rather be - I'll go on a Tilda & Edwin Tour any day, lol!!!
Hope you all enjoy a wonderful Saturday. Thanks for popping by for a visit today - I love that you take the time to leave me a comment - I really love reading them!

Friday Sketchers - Penguin Love

Happy Friday everyone!
Today, as it's still cold and snowy, I thought I'd go with a winter card! This is a new Motivet stamp that I won on Claudia's blog candy. It is sooo cute and just too much fun to colour! I used my Prima pencils on this image and I have finally figured out that the quality of paper is everything when it comes to the finished result! I used this on some copic paper and the blending of the pencils was beautiful!
So I've used the sketch off Friday Sketchers today which is hosted by the lovely Claudia. It was a fun one for sure. I've kept this card quite simple and just let the papers and image take full focal point. I've used my sewing machine to add some subtle detail and then sparkly snowflakes are my simple embellishments. I added some stickles as snow at the bottom of the penguins. Some organza and grosgrain ribbon add some detail too.
Well, it's a quick post as I have to take my son to the Children's Hospital for a follow-up Urology appointment. Hopefully the snow will stop as I hate driving in the stuff! Thanks for taking the time to pop on over and visit me. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your Friday and have a good start to the weekend! Stay warm!

A Calendar Easel Card

Hello!
Wow - it's Thursday already! This week seems to be flying by so fast! I hope you are all well!

Today I have used this sweet Tilda from the new Winter Club 'Raising the Ceiling' collection. I know many people were disappointed with this kit and I have to say I was a little let down with no winter images being included, but I do still love the images that make up the collection.

I have been wanting to make use of these little 2010 calendars that my mum sent me and I had seen this idea being used over on Debby's blog a while ago. I wanted to use papers and an image that would be ideal to look at all year round. I figured you can't go wrong with pink & aqua and flowers!
A close-up of Tilda

I'm really happy with the end result of this card. I've made it for a special friend so I just hope she likes it! I'm going to enter this into the Cute Card Thursday challenge for today which is 'Something New' - this Tilda is from the new collection and saw ink for the first time today!

Well, that's it for today folks! I hope you're all staying warm - it's chilly here again (-16oc) but the sun has finally shown its face after what seems like weeks!!

Thanks once again for your visit - I feel so blessed that you take the time to come and check out my creations and leave the beautiful comments that you do!

Amour .... in Paris!

Hello folks!
I hope this Wednesday finds you well - I know for the friends back home in the UK they're enjoying what seems to be quite a bit of snow. Honestly, it's hard to feel excited for their enthusiasm - I'm sick of the white stuff here - it just keeps coming and coming!!!
Well, today I have the second card from my trio of cards for my upcoming class at Heather's. I created the 'z' fold card and went with a very classy valentine card - perfect I think for the men! And talking of men, my lucky hubby gets to go to Paris next week on business! How I wish I had family close by so I could leave the boys and join Sean on a 4 day trip!! I have been to Paris before but not with my husband - how nice would that have been!
I decided to use black - I don't often use it but I wanted to heat emboss this gorgeous Penny Black image. I used Platinum embossing powder on this. The back panel is embossed with the hearts cuttlebug folder. On the image I cut out the two little hearts and placed a piece of red cardstock behind to make them pop out - I think it worked!! The bow is a double bow using my Bow-Easy - love that tool!! For the class I will be doing one thing different - instead of a half-circle at the top I will use a nesties heart with an eyelet to hold the front panel of the card up. As I don't have this set I couldn't make it at home but I will use Heather's from the store to complete the card. Maybe I'll have to add that to my ever-growing wish list, hee hee!!
Thanks for stopping by again today - I love your visits. And I thank you for any comments that you may leave - your input and support means the world to me!
Hugs,

We may not have it all together ......

Hi there!
A quick posting as I'm about to head out the door - really don't want to as it's so cold outside, brrr!!
This is a card sample for an upcoming class at Heather's Stamping Haven on January 16th. It's another easel card and I've used an image from The Stamp Barn. Isn't it just the cutest!! I coloured with my Distress Inks and used a nesties label. The hearts embossing folder and some cuttlebug corner embellishments are used on the front panel. I made the bow using my Bow-Easy tool. The sentiment is also from The Stamp Barn. I used the MS hearts border punch and a wooden button to finish off the card. I'm going to enter this card into A Spoonfull of Sugar challenge as they are asking for cards with hearts on them!
I'm so happy with this - it's simple yet cute and I tried to go with a vintagey feel too.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all stay warm!

First Magical Monday of 2010!

Good Morning all!

I hope this Monday morning finds you all well. I'm excited to be putting the boys on the school bus today after the christmas holidays!

Over at There's Magic in the Air Nina has this sweet 'Painted Pony' image to share from her 'Paper Cupcakes' store with everyone today. Patti Nelson has chosen today's challenge which is the following colour combo:-

I don't use SU! so to get these exact colours was a bit of a challenge in itself, but I did the best I could with what I have. I coloured the pony with my copic markers. As the image is quite detailed I didn't want to do too much to the card. So I took out my embossing folders and used ones that reflected the patterns on the painted pony. I used the Hearts folder, Swiss Dots and D'vine Swirls. So red adhesive pearls on the swirls and somw green ribbon finish off the look.

It's another simple card but I still hope you like it. As much as I love Nina's images they do take me out of my 'comfort zone', but I like that, I like the challenge of having to use something that I just wouldn't normally choose for myself. I hope that you can find the time and hop on over to TMITA and join in the challenge and check out all the rest of the amazing DT's work. I'd like to give a big welcome to some new members on the DT - Sue Walsh & Patti Gilliam. January's GD is Lisa Foster. You have until next Sunday evening to submit an entry and as always, Nina has a lovely prize up for grabs.

Thanks for taking the time to come and visit me today. As always, you are so much appreciated and I thank you for leaving a comment. Hopefully, with the boys back at school today, I can get some crafting time in! Enjoy a wonderful day!

Hugs,

Danielle x

An old Magnolia ....

Hello folks!
I hope you are all enjoying this last day before school starts up tomorrow (for us anyway!!). The weather is miserable; snowy, windy, cold. So, what better way than to spend my Sunday wrapped up in my craft room!
I popped over to The Stamp Shoppe blog and saw that the new challenge this month is to use an old Magnolia image. Well, this was one of my very first purchases from Magnolia - wow, hasn't Tilda grown up and changed along the way! OK, so now just having reviewed the challenge it also calls for your oldest paper too - hmmm, forgot to check that one off - this is BG Wisteria - not old at all! Ah well, I'll still submit it and perhaps I'll do another one!
Anyways, Tilda is coloured with my Distress Inks. I followed the sketch off Friday Sketchers and you may not be able to tell, but I used a half-circle of acetate and embossed it. I didn't want to cover up the gorgeous Wisteria paper!! Ribbon, mini flowers, pearl brads and the sentiment finish off the card.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek today. I thank you for the comments you leave and hope you are able to take some inspiration from my card today.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
Hugs,

A simple Thank You

Hi there!
I just wanted to quickly share a very simple thank you card. I'm wanting to make some quick cards to send off to family members for the boys to say their thank yous after the christmas holidays and I thought this would do the trick. This is an embossing folder (eeek, can't remember the company, sorry!!). I like that it has the box to stamp whatever sentiment you need.
A Prima flower, brad and a couple of gem stones add the very simple touch of elegance. Over at Winter Wonderland the challenge is 'Thank You' cards so I will enter my very simple card in. Sometimes, simple is best, and this is definitely one of those times!!!
(Apologies for the photo - it's not the best).
Hope you enjoy a great evening!

My first project of 2010!

Hello again!
Well, I did get a bit of crafting time in and I've made my first project of the year - this sweet little gift box. I used the largest scalloped square nestie and cut two out from brown cardstock. I then made a 3x3" box and attached the bottom and the top to the respective nesties. I haven't coloured up this cute Tilda in a while and thought she would be perfect atop this box lid. I coloured with my copics and cut her out. The MS frond punch and small roses and hydranges finish off the little flower ensemble. I added some ivory tulle under the nestie and tied at each end. Cream and pink pearls give the finishing touch.
Here's showing the open box (I filled it with flowers to show how you can gift it to someone or just keep your own stash in). Chocolates in this would be perfect for a little Valentine gift! Maybe even a special diamond .....ok, ok, I'm dreaming now, I know!! I gave a final finishing spray of Tattered Angels pearl mist (the camera has really picked it up!!).
Thanks so much for stopping by again! I'm so pleased I just got to craft on the first day of the new year - definitely makes me optimistic for making this a crafty year!!
Enjoy the rest of your day ..... it's still snowing here so not going anywhere!!
Hugs,
