Happy Birthday from Tilda Bunny

Hi there!

I've been laying low the last few days as I've been sick with a cold, but thank goodness for Dayquil & Nyquil ... seriously, the best meds ever to help clear up the congestion!!  I was feeling a little more human today so I managed some quiet time in my craft room and came up with this sweet Bunny Tilda card.

I coloured with my copics (I'll list the colours at the end) and the papers are MME Pretty Please. The guipre lace is a new purchase from Michael's which is just gorgeous.  I'll have to use it again where you can see more of it next time, LOL!  Flowers are from WOC and the pearl pin from stash.  I airbrushed the roses with R22 to colour match it to the bow on the image.  Sentiment is a Gina K one.

I was attempting to follow the sketch from Friday Sketchers although I think I may have reversed the two back panels ... anyhow, I'll still enter it and if it's no good, then just ignore it!

Other challenges I'm entering this card in for are:-

Magnolia Down Under - 'Flower Power'
Stamp Something - Flowers
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Birthday Wishes

Copic colours used:  E000,00,11,13,27,50,51,53,55 R01,19,20,22 W1,3,5

That's all for today folks.  Hopefully I'll get a chance to craft a bit more this weekend as the coming week is going to be hectic.  Our house is going up for sale as we are on the move ... yet again!  We are leaving Ontario and moving to Edmonton, Alberta!  We are very excited but it does mean lots of changes are on the way.  I have lots of organising and clearing to do to get the house ready for viewing ... sigh!  I love the prospect of a new start and adventure but always hate the packing up and moving bit!!  LOL

Thanks for coming by and if you have time to leave a comment I'd love to hear from you.  I greatly appreciate every one that is left for me ... I'm off to make a cup of tea and catch up with some blog hopping!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Pretty Pastels for Abigail C.

Hi!

It's Recipe Tuesday again over at PaperWorksCo and this weeks theme is 'Pretty Pastels' and to use the following recipe on your card/project:-

A pastel colour
2 papers
3 flowers

I must be in a 'try something different' frame of mind at the moment as yellow is not a favourite colour of mine, but when I found this pastel yellow sheet of cardstock and the Doodlebug papers I knew the pink would make everything alright!

I thought Miss Abigail C. would look really pretty using pastel colours.   She is coloured with copics and I trimmed her out from the main image and placed her on a nesties Label 14.  I followed Bella's Sunday Sketch at PWCO as I thought it would work perfectly with what I wanted to do on my card.  As seems to be a running theme with my Abigail C. cards I've used lots of bling ... and in this card is my attempt at mimicking the blowing of the dandelion fluff.  An MS border punch and ribbon finish the card off.

Thanks for stopping in again today at my blog.  Don't forget to pop over to PWCO and join in with the Recipe Tuesday fun ... we'd love to see you there!

Take care and stay warm (it's freezing again here today with -24oc temps)!!

You're a Peach!

Hello!

Thanks for popping in today for a visit - it's great to see you here!  And I apologise for the lack of postings this week ... I'm single parenting my 3 boys quite a bit at the moment as my husband is away on business a lot and it leaves little 'spare time'!!  Things should settle down soon, so please bear with me!

It is Family Day here today so I took advantage of a day at home with everyone present & correct (LOL) and snuck into my craft room for a little bit.  We had a stunning day here on Friday where the temperature escalated to +12oc ... oh, it was like Spring!  It didn't take winter long to come back and visit us but I felt inspired to create something that was full of the joys of spring - maybe it will hurry it along a bit!

So, I used the gorgeous Tilda with peaches.  I have totally gone out of my comfort zone and used colours that I'm not particularly comfortable with .. but am really happy to say I like the end result.  Papers are MME Bloom & Grow and I used copics to colour.  The sentiment is SU!.

I'm also going to enter this card into the following challenges:-

Just Magnolia - Love You (I used a sentiment - Sending You my Love)
Truly Scrumptious - Swirls & Pearls
Charisma Cardz - Spring has Sprung
Totally Gorjuss - 'Check' it Out

Thanks again for coming by - I really do appreciate your visits very much and love to read the comments that are left for me.  The truly brighten my day!

Take care everyone!

Sharing the love with Buckley ...

My PaperWorksCo card today is for the 'Recipe Tuesday' challenge.  I decided to go with a clean & simple card as the recipe is:-

A square
Embossing
2 Brads

I felt this recipe leaned towards a more masculine card so I have gone with a b&w colour theme with the pop of red.  Buckley Tinheart is coloured with greys and I kept him in simple tones of cool grey with the red heart.  I own the cuttlebug robots embossing folder set and this is super handy for matching with these stamps.  A simple layout design works with for guys cards don't you think!  I did add some gingham ribbon but it's b&w so therefore masculine enough.  I added the 2 brads inside the punched heart.

I'm entering this card over at Cupcake Craft Challenges this week where the challenge is 'I {heart} You' (must include at least one heart on your project).

It's a short and sweet post today my friends.  I hope you are able to pop over to PWCO and join in with the recipe challenge this week.  And did you join in with the blog hop and see all those gorgeous creations using the new Abigail C?  You still have until Friday to blog hop and leave your love and be in with a chance of winning one of those fabulous new stamps!

Thanks for stopping in today - your visit is always very welcomed and much appreciated!  Have a great day and stay warm (that's if you're in Ontario where right now it's sitting at -27oc with the wind chill .... brrrr)!!

Pretty in Pink & Brown ...

I managed to get in some crafty time this morning and as I had seen the twisted easel card around blogland this past week I wanted to give it a go.  And how fun and easy it is!

I coloured up this sweet little Tilda yesterday using pinks and browns and used Bev's fabulous sketch from the Friday Sketchers challenge blog.  The papers are Bo Bunny are just scrummy!  I adore pink & brown together ... and whilst this can be used for a valentine card it can also be an everyday card.  I'm actually sending this to a dear friend of mine whose mom has just been diagnosed with lung cancer - I hope it cheers her up and lets her know I'm thinking of her.

Here's a full view of the twisted easel card.  I used a doily on the bottom panel too with a swirl and 3 cherry blossoms to act as the 'stop'.  The hearts are from an MS punch and the sentiment is SU!.  Ribbon, bling and doilies are from my stash.  I also used the MS French Lace border punch along the middle panel.  My sewing machine also got some exercise today on this card!

Here's a close up of Tilda.  The copic colours used are:-

Skin: - E000, 00, 11,13,21,R20
Hair/Shoes - E25,29,30,34,35
Clothes:- R81,83,85,89

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges:-

Cute Card Thursday - Hearts & Flowers
Papertake Weekly - Have a Heart
Stamp Something Challenge - Something for your Valentine
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Let's see some Love

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are able to leave me a comment to let me know you visited!  Have a wonderful Valentine's Day tomorrow and hope your day is filled with love!

Come and join in ... it's the PaperWorksCo blog hop!!!

 'He loves me?'

Hello and welcome to the PaperWorksCo blog hop!  PWCO is thrilled to have a new artist on board and today is the debut of 'A Day in the Life of Abigail ...'

You should have arrived by way of the uber talented Alice.  So I have these two fabulous images to showcase today.  'He loves me?' is the first one.  Isn't she so sweet blowing away the dandelion fluff!  I have coloured with copics and will list the colours I used at the end of the post.  Paper is BG Euphoria and I created a flower trellis using the MS deep Trellis punch.  I punched out small flowers using the retro flower punch and greenery with an EK Success punch.  Plenty of bling adds the finishing touches and makes this image shine ... well, at least I think so, LOL!!!

'Abby Easter'

And the second card I have to show you today is this sweet 'Abby Easter' image.  How fun ... an easter egg hunt collecting eggs from the Easter Bunny himself!  Again, this image is coloured with copics.  I played around with the layout on this card and wanted to create the feeling that they were on top of a hill inside a rabbit field with the sun and a rainbow shining behind them ... do you think it worked?  I pulled out my MS punches to help me achieve this - both the picket fence punch and the bunny border.  The paper is Three Bugs in a Rug and the crochet flower and bling is from stash.

Here's a list of the copic colours I've used:-

'He Loves Me'

Skin - E000,00,11,13,21,R20
Hair - E25,29,35
Dress & Head scarf - RV32,34,69
Boots - B91,93,95,99
Dandelions & Grass - Y11,15  G40,82,85

'Abby Easter'

Skin - E000, 00,11,13,21, R20
Hair - E25,29,35
Dress - BG72,75,78
Head scarf & boots - R35,37,39
Basket & eggs - E30,31,33,50,53, YG05

So should you get lost on the blog hop here is the list of everyone.  Be sure to hop all the way through the list as Peggy will randomly select winners from comments left on everyones' blogs.  I hope you've enjoyed what I've made and that Abigail has squeezed her way into your heart ... she certainly did with me!

I have for you today my PaperWorksCo DT card for Recipe Tuesdays.  Today, it's a 'Recipe of Love' and the elements required on your card are:-

  • Red/Pink

  • 1 image
I decided to make an easel card and I've used the gorgeous RAM VDay Bunny - isn't he so cute!!  I used my copics to colour with and I'll list those at the end for you.  I am trying to keep a record of the colours I use as I know how helpful that can be when trying to determine the combo of colours for your own projects.

The paper is 3 Bugs in a Rug 'Sweet Dreams'.  I used the MS X's & O's border punch and then stamped the sentiment directly on the paper.  The roses are from WOCrafts, ribbon is PWCO and the rest from stash.

I used the sketch from this weeks challenge over at Friday Sketchers.  I'm going to enter my card into the following challenges seeing as there are lots of 'love' challenges out there this week!

Papertake Weekly - 'Have a Heart'
A Spoonfull of Sugar - `Let`s see some Love`

A Giggle a Day ....

Hi there!

I hope you're all keeping well!  We weathered a huge winter storm yesterday and the boys had a snow day from school so were very happy!  It took us over 2hrs to shovel our way out of the driveway and the snow just kept coming ... today we have gorgeous blue skies and sunshine albeit a tad chilly at -17oc!

Anyhow, I have this little boy card to show you today.  A good blogging friend, Debbie, over at Passion for Crafts  has her autistic son Jack moving into a residential school.  The transition is going to be difficult for both of them and she came up with the idea of sending cards to Jack to keep his spirits up.  So, that is where todays card is off to ... hopefully to put a smile on Jack's face!

The image is from Wags & Whiskers and coloured with copics.  The  paper and sentiment is from the Cogsmo pad from Cosmo Cricket.  The button & twine are from my stash.

I'm going to enter this card over at the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog where this weeks challenge is 'Banish the Blues' - to make a card that features humour (either image or sentiment).  I hope my card reflects it - I think it does!  Also, over at The Crafty Pad they're asking for 'Something for the Boys'.

Thanks for stopping in today ... your visit is most welcome and very appreciated!  I hope you're able to leave a comment for me - I love to read them!  Take care and stay warm!

A Heart for You ...

Tuesday is my new posting day for PaperWorksCo and it's Recipe Tuesday.  This means it's a challenge day and there is a 'recipe' to follow for your creation.

Today's recipe is:-  Stitching (Faux or Real), 2 papers & ribbon/lace

I was inspired by a previous PWCO post  to look at my stamps with 'new eyes' and see other creating possibilities with the rubber.  And this is just what I've done with my card today.  This RAM 'A Magical Christmas' came to mind and when I looked at the stamp, I thought, "Mmmm, the snow globe could be cut out and replaced with a heart".  So that's exactly what I did ... do you think it worked?

The image is coloured with copics.  She is surrounded by snow & snowflakes and in hindsight (and if I did the card again) I would refrain from inking them up.  However, the deed was already done so I got creative with my heart punch and created heart & gem confetti which I make sparkle with stickles!  I embossed the heart with the D'vine Swirls folder.  The paper is Bo Bunny 'Bee Mine', lace is from stash and the sentiment is Hero Arts.

Thanks for coming by and popping onto my blog today.  It's really great to see you here and I hope you can find the time to leave a comment - it is always very much appreciated.  I also hope you're able to pop over to PWCO and join in with the challenge fun.

Hugs,
Danielle x
