A Very Merry Christmas...

Hi there!

I know you're probably all wondering where on earth I've disappeared to but life has been incredibly hectic of late.  I have been dealing with a slipped disc myself, which has prohibited me from long periods of sitting, as well as continuing to work and take care of the family.

Nevertheless, I hope the new year will bring a more settled routine for myself and my crafting.  Also, I have decided to step down from the Winter Wonderland DT - this was a very hard decision to make but I know it was the right one for me at this time.  I cannot find the time to dedicate myself properly to anything crafty right now and I certainly don't want to do anything half-heartedly.  I hope you're still able to pop on over to the challenge blog and join in with their fabulous challenges!

I WISH YOU ALL A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND EVERY

BEST WISH FOR 2012!

I hope to have some cards to show you after the holidays once I get a chance to relax and sit at my craft table!!

Hugs,

Photo Inspiration at PaperWorksCo!

Hi there!

Sorry for the delay in posting up my PaperWorksCo Friday Recipe ... yesterday was a busy day and after a week of dealing with back pain, Friday just couldn't come quick enough!

Anyways, it is a pretty simple card but my idea behind the colouring in warm greys is that the little girl is putting up her christmas stockings in a darkened room, just before Santa arrives.  I really do like the finished look and to be honest, it looks much nicer in real life too!  The background is velvet paper which I ran through a holly cuttlebug embossing folder.  It is very lush and elegant!

If you pop on over to the PaperWorksCo blog you'll find the inspirational photo for this weeks challenge. Now we take a blog break from December 15th so the challenges going on right now are purely for inspiration only and hopefully a help to you in getting some of those christmas cards finished and mailed off!

Have a great weekend everyone!  I plan on doing some Christmas baking with my brand new KitchenAid ... wooohoo ... I don't think I've ever been excited about baking before!!  :)

Let's Pig out Together!

Hello!

I have my last Anything But a Card project for the month of November with PaperWorksCo.  I've decided to use the super cute Patti the Pig from the new Barnyard Buddies Collection which was recently released.  I made this Milk Carton Box which I thought would be a really cute and fun way to package up some chocolate truffles to gift someone with.  I think this container makes giving chocolates really fun and humorous!

The colour combo is not something I normally go with but I'm glad I did ... red/pink/brown together is pretty funky ... especially with the red card stock being a little sparkly too!  I attached the sentiment on the top with the binder clip and added some pink ribbon which matches the circle tag.  The dp is MME Lost & Found - such pretty papers!

I hope you like my project today.  I will be back doing Recipe Fridays with PWCO for the month of December.  I hope you're able to join in with some of the fun ... you have until the end of November to submit a project and be in to win 2 PWCO stamps OR the Papercardkit ... so what are ya waiting for??!

Enjoy your Sunday ... it's my son's birthday today ... Joel is 10!  I don't know where the years go to!  We'll be enjoying dinner at Pizza Hut tonight - his personal request!  Thanks for stopping in and taking the time to leave a comment - they are always very much appreciated!

Safari Friends Boxed Card Set ... with a twist of hot pink!

Hi there!

Welcome to my PaperWorksCo ABAC posting for today.  I have this little boxed card set to show you ... a really sweet way to gift some of your beautiful handmade cards!  I used the Safari Friends stamp set which I just inked up using Memento Rich Cocoa and left the images uncoloured - I like the effect it gives!

The box is a 4"x4" square with an acetate sleeve to fit over the top.  I decorated the acetate with some bling.  Each card is slightly smaller than 4x4" so they fit snugly in the box.  The safari paper is a pad by DCWV and I used the paper to match the cards and box.  I added some hot pink ribbon and some gem stones to each of the finished cards.

Thanks for stopping in today!  I hope you enjoyed my little ABAC project today and remember if you get a chance to do a project don't forget to link it up over on the PWCO blog to be in with a chance of winning a couple of free stamps or the November PaperCardKit!

The weather is turning cooler here today with some rain and possibly snow on its way.... ahh well, can't complain as the temperatures we've had up until now have been so mild!  Have a great Sunday everyone and a wonderful start to your week!

Awww what a cutie for Winter Wonderland!

Hi there!

I have this cutie to show you today for the Winter Wonderland Christmas challenge this week hosted by the lovely Kate.  We're looking for any cute christmas image on your card that makes you go 'awwww'!!

I've used this Penny Black hedge singing carols - he sure is cute isn't he!  The papers are a mish mash of BG Wassail and American Crafts.  The image is coloured with my copics and the ribbon, flower and jingle bell are all from stash.  I embossed the black panel with a music score embossing folder through the cuttlebug.

I have the kids home today as they're all off on a PD Day. They sure do need the break and a 3 day weekend will be very welcome.  I, however, have to work later so had best get my skates on get organized!  We had our first fluttering of snow yesterday ... not much but it certainly marks the end of the glorious mild weather we've been having up to now!

Well that's all for now folks.  Thanks for stopping in today and with only 36 days until Christmas I sure hope you're able to join in with our challenge over at Winter Wonderland and add to your christmas card stash!  I appreciate each and every one of your comments and the extra time you take to leave one!  Thank You!  Have a great Friday everyone!

Anyone for tea?

Hi there!

Wow - this has been a busy week!  So sorry I haven't been able to post much recently - this whole 'work' lark is really getting in the way of my crafty time, LOL!!  Plus we've been having the most glorious Fall weather - second week of November and we're still experiencing double digits of 14 and 17oc!  I'm sure once the snow hits my craft room will beckon me with greater and renewed enthusiasm!

Anyhow, onto todays posting which is my ABAC project for PaperWorksCo.  I've used the super cute 'Orest the Owl' from the new Forest Critters Collection which was recently released ... aren't those eyes just adorable!!  I've made this sweet Teabag Holder - it's the perfect way to send a little thank you or miss you to a loved one!  I've used the sentiment 'Thanks for Owl you do' which accompanies this stamp.  Papers are from Cosmo Cricket 'Earth Love' collection which Peggy currently has in the Blowout section of the store at some amazing prices!  Orest is coloured with copics.  The branches are the oak leaf MS punch.

Here's a side view of the project showing the sentiment which I placed down the spine of the holder.  When you open it up this is the treat inside ... it contains two pockets for teabags or you could easily place a gift card in one of the pockets should you wish.  There are so many different ways you could use this.  And of course you could dress it up for a Christmas gift too!

I found the tutorial here should you wish to make one yourself.  They are quick and easy ... just my kinda project!  I hope you enjoyed my ABAC project for today.  I just love trying out all these little handmade gifts ... this one has been received very well to the friends I've shown it off to which means I will make more!  :)

I hope you're all enjoying a wonderful Sunday!  Thanks for stopping in at my blog today - I really do appreciate it.  And if you're crafting I hope you can find the time to make a 'Anything but a Card' project and join us at PaperWorksCo ... remember you don't have to use a PWCO image to join in but you'll get an extra entry in the prize pot if you do!  Until next week ... but hopefully I'll have a card or two to show you during the week!

You are my #1!

Hi there!

I am back doing 'Anything but a Card' projects for the month of November with PaperWorksCo!    I have some quick, easy and economical projects to show you which I hope will get your creative juices going.

Today I have this sweet photo holder.  I picked up this oversized  clothes pin from the $1.50 bin at Michaels.  I used a drinks mat (picked up from any bar/restaurant) which I covered in this beautiful Echo Park boy paper.  I sanded the edges to give it a nice finished look.  I added a strip of co-ordinating paper down the front of the clothes pin and tied a knot with some cotton twill (recycled from some dishcloth packaging)!

The photo is of my middle son, Joel.  I stamped the 'You are my #1' image from the Zac & Zoe Sports Collection, cut it out and coloured it with my copic sketch markers using B91,93,95,96,99.

This was a very quick and economical gift idea ... perfect for those work desks or small spaces!  I hope you get inspired by my ABAC project today and that it makes you realize you can make super handmade gifts for very little financial outlay.  And what grandparent, uncle or aunt wouldn't love to receive a little gift like this with a picture of their favourite family member!

Thanks for stopping in again today - it's always great to see you on my blog.  I must apologize for my lack of commenting lately ... I'm still trying to find my groove with my new work routine but at least hubby is home now so I'm no longer doing the whole 'single parenting' thing anymore ... she says with a big 'phew'!!

I hope you all enjoying a wonderful Sunday evening and a fabulous start to a new week!

Let it Sparkle with Winter Wonderland

Hi there!

Thanks for stopping in today - I have my DT card for the Winter Wonderland challenge which is hosted by our lovely teamie, Sally.  This weeks challenge is to 'Let it Sparkle' ... that's right, bring out the glitter, the sparkle, the bling ... we want sparkles galore!

I have been rather rushed off my feet this week in a very nice way - it was my birthday and have been spoiled with some very nice treats!

Anyways, back to todays card - I used this super sweet LOTV image which has been coloured with my copic markers.  It's hard to see but the card stock is very sparkly and the matting behind the image and sentiment is also very glittery.  I used the MS pine needles border punch along the bottom of the card.

A very quick and easy card but one I hope that is inspiring nonetheless.  I appreciate you calling into my blog and leaving any comments - your kind words really do make my day such a happier one!  And don't forget to pop on over to the Winter Wonderland blog and join in with the challenge ... it's a great way to get those Christmas cards under way!!

Ta ta for now ...!!

Are you ready to blog hop for the PaperWorksCo new release?

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the PaperWorksCo blog hop where you are going to be treated to TWO fabulous new stamp releases.  You should have come by way of Janet's blog but if you're off the path make sure you head back to the PWCO blog here so you don't miss out on all the goodness!

Firstly, I would like to introduce you to Rocky the Raccoon.  He is part of the Forest Critters Collection ... now this dude is quite the 'love bandit'!  He keeps his feelings masked but I'm sure if you coax him out of the forest he will tell you just how much he loves you!!

Next up is Becky the Bunny!  She comes in all different shades of colour to fit whatever occasion you need her for!  Here she is 'Hopping on by with a Birthday Hi' after having had a blue rinse done at the salon!  Her smile is infectious and she is definitely a 'Be Hoppy' bunny!

Now I get to introduce the 'Barnyard Buddies' and the ever so sweet Dillon the Duck.  Now Dillon will take on every challenge you introduce him to ... baby projects, happy birthday cards, a cheery card ... he is definitely the character who will 'quack you up'!!  He was most obliging with my Diaper Pouch project and of course was more than happy to take centre stage ... he sure does like being the centre of attention!

And last, but by no means least, let me introduce you to Shelley the Sheep.  She really is the considerate one in the barnyard and is always 'thinking of ewe'!  There are of course times when she thinks you're baaaa'd but that really is just her sense of humour coming out to play!

So there you have all the friends that I have had the pleasure of working with this last little while and it has been an absolute pleasure introducing them to you!  I sure hope you had fun on my blog seeing my projects and are enjoying the blog hop so far.  Your next stop is going to be the uber talented Alice so be prepared to be wowed some more!

Should you get lost at any time I've included the order of the blog hop below:-

     - Janet
    - Danielle ------>  YOU ARE HERE!

As this is such a big hop, Peggy has some amazing prizes to give away.  You must also collect a letter along the way from each blog.  My letter is 'T' ... when you get to the finish line all your letters will spell a special word which will entitle you to some fabulous discounts!

Thanks for hopping with us today and I sure hope you continue to have more fun along the way!  Be sure to leave some comment love aswell as Peggy will be randomly selecting winners from the comments left on each blog.

Delight in the Little Things!

Hi there

Welcome to my posting today for PaperWorksCo and our last Recipe Friday for the month of October!  Wow - that month sure flew by didn't it!

So today's recipe is" 'Raindrops keep Falling on my Head' - to use an image with rain/puddles and something reflective.

I've chosen to ink up the sweet Abigail C. 'Singing in the Rain' and have used papers from Echo Park 'A Walk in the Park' (Peg has these on a blowout sale right now at fabulous prices).  I've coloured with my copic markers and have used some glossy accents on the rain drops and puddles (the photo doesn't show it well).

I found these small mirror circles in my local Dollar Store and thought they would work well for the 'something reflective' element on the card.  I placed some small buttons on the top to add some extra detail and interest.

I love this simple sentiment ($1.50 from Michaels) - it really reminds us that splashing in puddles ... or even just to enjoy the rain ... is something we should take delight in!

I am off today so am looking forward to enjoying a bit of crafty 'me' time.  Just to remind you too that tomorrow is the PaperWorksCo super blog hop where the DT will be showcasing the double release of stamps. There are some fabulous new images in these two collections - you won't be disappointed!  I hope you'll be able to join us and of course be in with a chance to win some goodies!

Until tomorrow ....

Adding another candle ...

Hello friends!

I have a quick posting for you today.  This is a card that I was commissioned to make for a lady celebrating her 70th Birthday!  I used this super sweet Sparkles Creation stamp (loaned to me by the lovely Sheena).  I coloured her with my copics and the papers are from a stack by MME.

A view showing the finished inside of the card - isn't that sentiment great!  Again, I'm doing this post on the run today ... will my life ever start to slow down again, LOL!  I do have great news though - my husband returns to the fold permanently next week!  He has been working in Edmonton full-time since May but now has a job back in Ottawa and our family life can hopefully get back to some normality!

I hope you're all having a wonderful day - I'm off out to lunch today to celebrate my BBF's birthday - I believe Chinese is on the menu!  Thanks for stopping in and for any kind comments you should leave!

Hello Friend ...

Welcome to my second posting for today ... if you want to check out my Winter Wonderland card, please scroll down.

This weeks 'Recipe Friday' challenge over at PaperWorksCo is a photo inspiration - pop over to the blog and check the photo out!  I hope it inspires you to create a card and join in with the challenge fun.

I used one of the sweet 'Tinheart Family' robot images and went with a soft colour scheme (I seem to recall I used this colour combo on my last card - I guess it is a favourite of mine)!!  I coloured with copic sketch markers (RV000, 00, 10 and BG10,11)  The papers are a mix of Echo Park and Doodlebug.  The flowers are a mini punch and the pearls are from stash.  I created squares with the paper and did a patchwork quilt effect and zigzag sewed it all together - I love the finished effect - and it looks so much nicer in real life too!  The sentiment is Studio G ($1.50 from Michaels).

Well, that's all for today folks.  Again, many thanks for stopping in for a visit and leaving a comment - I really hope I find time in my schedule to do some blog hopping and leave some much needed love with you all!

A Vintage Christmas

Hello!

Welcome to my Friday Winter Wonderland DT posting where the lovely Kate is hosting this weeks challenge 'A Vintage Christmas'.  I love doing vintage and the few Tim Holtz stamps that I have are always the perfect choice for these projects.

My papers are Graphic 45 and I distressed the edges very lightly.  I added a pearl swirl, a little lace and a poinsettia for some detail  The card is very simple but I like the finished result.  At the moment simple equates to quick and easy right now which is what I need whilst I still juggle my time between family, work and craft time!

I hope you're able to hop on over to the Winter Wonderland blog and get a chance to join in with our vintage themed challenge this week.  It's a little scary to see just how close to Christmas we are!  How is your pile of christmas cards coming along?

Well, thanks for popping in today at my blog and paying me a visit - I always truly appreciate it!  If you have the time please pop back for my 'Recipe Friday' challenge with PaperWorksCo!

I hope you're all having a wonderful Friday and a great start to a relaxing weekend ahead!

Recipe Friday challenge with PaperWorksCo

Hi there!

Welcome to my Friday Recipe Challenge card posting for PaperWorksCo!    I'm afraid I'm writing this post on the run today as I need to be at work soon ... I've been having a bit of a hard time trying to find 'crafting' time now that my job is on the go!  I'm sure I'll find a routine soon enough ... please just be patient with me until I figure it out!!  :)

Anyways, todays recipe is 'You Float my Boat' - the deets are over on the PWCO blog so be sure to check them out and join in with the challenge.  I've coloured up this cutie patootie 'Swimmingly Yours' image with my copics.  I used a texturizing technique for the water - so cool!  The rest of the card is pretty simple and I kept to a fun light colour palette.

Thanks for stopping in today - I hope you like!  And my sincere gratitude and thanks to you should you leave me a comment - they are always so much appreciated!

Enjoy your Friday and have a fabulous start to the weekend!

Colours of Fall for Winter Wonderland

Hi there!

I have my Winter Wonderland DT card for you today and our lovely teamie Linda has posted the challenge this week of 'Colours of Autumn/Fall'.    There are always so many gorgeous colours surrounding us at this time of year so you shouldn't be too hard set to find inspiration ... and of course there are the other DT members cards too!!

So I've used this super sweet LOTV teddy bear and coloured him in using my copic sketch markers.  I was inspired by the two colours of the dp and then carried on adding in some yellows and golds and a bit of orange.  The paper doily, ribbon and sentiment finish off the card.

I hope you like it and it inspires you to join us at Winter Wonderland this week and add another Christmas card to your pile!  This will be a quick post today as my boys have the day off from school.  It is Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend and we look set for a stunning 4 day period of 25oc and full-on sunshine - woohoo!!  I can see some hiking in the beautiful Gatineau Hills coming on!  My hubby is back in town too for the long weekend so we have lots to be thankful for!

I hope you all enjoy a wonderful start to your weekend whatever your plans are!  Thanks for stopping in - it's always so great to see you here!

Oh Joy! Make your Own Photo Frame!

Hi there!

Sorry I'm late with my PaperWorksCo post .. well, in fact, if truth be told, I totally messed up!  I was scheduled in to do 'Recipe Fridays' and for some reason I had 'Anything but a Card' Sundays in my head ... yes, a major oops!  I guess we all have minor hiccups now and again, right?  My schedule has been so hectic recently what with starting a new job etc. no wonder I had a brain fart, LOL!!

Anyways, you will get to see an 'ABAC' project from me today and it's this ... a handmade photo frame.  This has to be one of the easiest and cheapest gifts to make.  The plain wooden frame was a $1 from Michaels and the JOY sentiment (which is also wood and covered in material) was $1.50 from Michaels too - bargains eh!  I measured each of the side panels and cut a corresponding piece of paper, glued it down and sandpapered the edges.  The image is RAM's 'Flaky Friends' from PaperWorksCo and coloured with copic markers.  I trimmed the image out and glued it down.  The final addition of a little red bow finishes off the frame.  And that's it ... and handmade christmas picture frame for under $3!

I plan on making some more of these ... I think they'll make such sweet christmas gifts.  That's all for today folks ... I'm out of the my regular schedule at the moment so I'm not sure how much blog time I'll get but I'll try and catch up!  It is Canadian Thanksgiving this coming weekend and then after that I'm back in at the Physiotherapy Clinic again (my new job) with probably more regular hours coming my way.  Will keep you posted!  In the meantime, hope you all have a wonderful day and a fabulous start to the week!

Hugs,

Snappy Birthday ... celebrating PWCO's 100th sketch!

Hello!

I have a special posting today as over at PaperWorksCo we have our 100th sketch .. that's right, can you believe we're at #100!!  All of the DT are joining in with todays sketch challenge and we invite you to do the same and get in with a chance to win some PWCO stamps of your choice!

This is the sketch and although I've followed the main sketch I have taken some artistic license and placed it onto a bigger card so I could add in the sentiment and ribbon details.  Now this is a colour combo I haven't tried before and have to say I absolutely LOVE it!  Adding in the turquoise was a last minute decision and I'm so glad I went with it!  I've used Carlos the Crab and coloured with copic markers (R35,37,39,59 B00,01).  I embossed the smaller circles and the dp is from the BG Boxer pad.  Ribbon is seam binding bought from the sewing section in Wal-Mart!  The sentiment is from the 'Aqua Amigos sentiment set' and the tag is a spellbinders.

Well, thanks for stopping in again today!  My apologies for not getting around and commenting too much at the moment ... my schedule is getting busier by the day but I try and pop in to see all the lovely work being posted out there.  I may not be leaving a comment right now but I am admiring!!  :)

I hope you all enjoy your day!

Embrace your Birthday!

Hi there!

It's Monday again which means I'm showcasing my final card for the September Papercardkit from PaperWorksCo!  I have so enjoyed working with these gorgeous Authentique 'Journey' papers ... the blues and browns have been delicious!  :)

Anyways, I chose this style of card (not sure what it's called) and I used the super sweet RAM 'A Surprise Cheer' image.  All the papers, card stock and embellishments are from the kit.  I coloured with my copic markers (if you want to know what colours I used they are listed over on the PaperWorksCo blog.

Here's a view of the inside back panel of the card which features the sentiment which comes with the stamp.  Again, the papers are from the kit.

Thanks for stopping in today.  I start my job today and although I'm easing in gently with some training I'm really looking forward to it!

I appreciate your visit and thank you for any kind comments you may leave!  I hope you all enjoy the beginning to this week!

Across the Miles ...

Hi there!

I have my Winter Wonderland DT card for you today and am thrilled to bring you a little bit of Tilda goodness!  Wow - these stamps have been a little neglected lately .. what is a girl to do when there is so much gorgeous rubber out there!!

Anyway, I am hosting this weeks challenge and we're looking for cards to 'SEND ACROSS THE MILES'.  With so many families spread across the world these days there is always a need for this type of card at Christmastime.

I kept my card and layout pretty simple and coloured Tilda up with my copic markers.  The white paper is beautifully embossed with snowflakes (I hope you're able to see it).  I used an EK Success deep edge snowflake border punch.  The sentiment is from LOTV (luuuurve these circle sentiments) and I added stickles to the edge of the layered panels.  It adds a super touch of sparkle in real life!

Well, that's all for today folks.  I hope the weekend allows me some inky time ... we're forecast 30oc (with humidex) but with thundershowers ... if it's nice as they say then it'll be hard to stay inside!  We'll be having snow before we know it so I want to enjoy every last drop of warmth and sunshine whilst it's around!

Thanks for stopping in and any comments you may leave.  Be sure to pop on over to the Winter Wonderland blog and check out the rest of the DT's amazing inspiration!  How is your christmas card pile coming along ....?

Download Diva!

Hi there

A card just for fun today!  I had a very fun crafty date with two girlfriends over the weekend and we got to share our rubber ... so a big thank you to Tanya for letting me ink up this gorgeous 'Download Diva' Kenny K stamp.  I've admired these beauties but had no idea they were so much fun to colour!  Mmmm, thinking I need to treat myself to some new rubber as I want to try out some different colour combos with my copics on these!!

I am quite thrilled with how this one has turned out ... the first time I can truly say I'm happy with my black hair copic colouring!  Not sure what the papers are as they were a gift (but thinking BG Lime Rickey).  I went with a modern twist with the ribbon and used staples to adhere them.  I also added a gem to her belly button so it looks like she has it pierced ... not sure how well you can see it!

Anyways, that's all for today folks!  I had a fabulous power walk this morning so I'm going to settle down into my craft room for a little bit after lunch!  Hope you're all having a wonderful day!

Together Forever

Hi there

Welcome to my PaperWorksCo posting today where I get to show off more of this months Papercardkit featuring the gorgeous Authentique 'Journey' papers.

These papers are so elegant they really lend themselves to a wedding card so that is exactly what I've done for todays project.  I've used the beautiful RAM 'A First Kiss' stamp and coloured it with my copics.  Have to say my brown and blue copic markers are definitely getting a workout with these papers, LOL!

I've used a pretty simple layout ... the cream strip of paper is the reverse side of the pretty blue/brown flourish.  All the papers and embellishments, including the sentiment cutout, is from the Papercardkit ... such fantastic value for money at only $11.99!!

Some challenges I'm entering this card in for:-

Critter Sketch Challenge - A Recipe (1 image, 2 dp, 3 embellishments & 1 sentiment)
Creatalicious Challenges - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Stamp with Fun - Anything Goes

Well, thanks for stopping in today.  It's always great to see you here and receive your lovely comments!  I'm off to enjoy a little more crafty time today ... hope you're having a great day!

A butterfly flies beside us ...

Hi there,

A quick posting today as I have a fun crafty date planned for this afternoon at my house and I can't wait to get my fingers inky!

This is a card I made last week for a friend who stayed with us for 3 months.  She has now returned to Australia and we miss her very much ... this sentiment is truly how we felt!  It was a very quick card to put together.  The papers are the beautiful MME, border punch and butterfly is from Martha Stewart and bling and doily is from my stash.

Thanks for stopping in.  I appreciate all your visits and your comments so much!  I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful weekend!

Dream Big ...

Hi there!

I have a card made with the September PaperCardKit from PaperWorksCo today.  This kit is fantastic value at only $11.99 and it features the beautiful Authentique 'Journey' papers ... and you can make at least 10 cards!!

This image has to be one of my absolute favourites from PWCO and he's the little mouse from the Cutie Patootie Collection and is called 'Up, Up & Away'.  It always make me think of 'Dream Big ... You will soar into the clouds' so I was excited to see some of the cutout sentiments in the kit had a 'dream' in it.  Well, of course I had to use it with this cutie!  So all the papers, embellishments and sentiment are from the kit.  I coloured the image up with copic markers (E21,23,25,27,33  B21,45,52  T0,1).

I had a super busy weekend so am looking forward to some quiet time in my craft room with the boys back in school today!  I think I may go and grab a coffee and sit down and catch up on some blogging and commenting too ... there never seems to be enough hours in the day!  I start my job in a months time and I'm beginning to wonder how on earth I'm going to fit it all in!!  LOL

Here are some challenges I'm going to enter this card in for:-

Crafts 4 Eternity - Brown & Blue
One Stitch at a Time - Anything Goes
Stamp-n-Doodle - Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

That's all for today folks!  Thank you, as always, for stopping in and leaving me some love!  I really do appreciate it.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town ....

Hi there!

It's Friday again and that means it's time for a Winter Wonderland posting!  This week the lovely Miria is hosting our challenge of 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town' ... always a fun and popular challenge and one we hope you can join in with too.

I had this lovely Magnolia Santa in my pile of stamped images.  I coloured him up with my copics and kept the card layout pretty straight forward and simple.  Papers are a Bo-Bunny double sided sheet and still one of my favourite christmas papers around!  I added some twine and tied a simple bow and added the Magnolia sentiment.

A slightly different angle of the card

Here's the finished inside of the card.  It's very simple using an EK Success deep border snowflake punch to decorate the top of the card with another twine bow to complement the front.

Here are some other challenges I'm entering this card in for:-

Totally Gorjuss - Sketch
Charisma Cardz - Inspired by a song (Santa Claus is coming to Town)
Sparkles Forum Christmas Challenge - Santa
Stamp Something - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping in today and taking a peek at my project!  Although the boys have returned to school this week it has been emotionally tiring for them ... especially my little guy Jacob who just started full-time school!  He has come home every evening totally exhausted and cried before falling asleep saying he doesn't want to go back to school ... he'd much rather stay home and watch a movie on the couch with his mommy!  I'm sure after the weekend and a good rest he'll be ready to start another week and hopefully each day will just get easier for him.

I hope I can get some more inky time in this weekend ... it definitely helps me recharge my batteries!  Have a great one and I hope to be back to a more regular blogging schedule once things settle down a bit next week!

Hugs,

Together is the best place ...

Hi folks!

I am delighted to bring you the PaperWorksCo Papercardkit for the month of September! Peggy has on offer the gorgeous Authentique's Journey Collection ... and let me tell you the paper in this kit is nothing short of stunning!

So to show off my first project I went with a shabby chic look and coloured up RAM's 'Whoo Loves You' stamp.  I used my copies and kept to the tones of Toner Greys for a monotone look.  I just coloured in the girly owl's flower blue for a little pop of colour.

I distressed the edges with my distressing tool, inked up the edges and got out the sewing machine.  The sentiment is one of the bonus cutouts that come with the kit.  I used the MS doily border punch and finished up with some embellishments from the kit.

Here's a slightly different angle to show you the design of the card.  Peggy's papercardkits are amazing value for money at only $11.99 - enough card stock and papers to make a dozen cards!

Some challenges I'm entering this card into:-

Ooh-La-La Creations Challenges - Anniversary
Paper Creations Ink - Vintage/Distressed Look
Pile it On - "B" is for ... (blue, buttons, bow)
The Crafty Pad - Blue & Brown

Thanks for stopping in today - we're enjoying a Bank Holiday Monday today here in Canada - the last day of summer holidays before the kids head back to school tomorrow!  I've absolutely loved this summer and am sad to see it end but it IS time for the kids to go back to school ...  LOL!!

Enjoy your Monday and hope it's a wonderful start to the week for you!  Thank you for any comments you leave - I appreciate every single one of them!

Abracadabra ... it's your Birthday!

Hi there!

Well, today I have a card to show you which I made for my son's birthday which is today.  Jacob turns 6 and I just adore these LOTV boy images ... absolutely perfect for little boys birthdays!!

The image is coloured with copies and the papers are Echo Park 'Little Boy'.  I followed the sketch for this card over on Papertake Weekly this weekly.  I added the metal charm on the twine - it's hard to see but it says celebrate.  The metal star is from my stash and the little blue stars are a punch which I then covered in Stickles.  I wanted them placed over the wand so it looks like he's creating sparks with his magic spells!  LOL  The bottom red panel is embossed with a new embossing folder ... loving these big flat polka dots!!  I used a nesties label die cut (4 I think) for the main image panel.

Here's a picture of the finished inside of the card  I kept it pretty simple but I love the star punched border popping through the red panel.  The sentiment is a cheap Studio G find from Michaels.

Some challenges I'm entering this card into:-

Papertake Weekly - sketch
Charisma Cardz Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafty Purple Frog - Birthdays
Crafts and Me Challenges - Add a Charm
Crafty Creations Challenges - Dies n Punches
Cute Card Thursday - A Pinch and a Punch

Can't stop and chat too much today as we have a fun-filled day ahead for Jacob.  It's looking like it's going to be a gorgeous day (they're calling for 29oc) so we'll be heading into the pool after a birthday lunch out with friends!  And his Daddy arrives on the plane tonight for the long weekend and beginning of school - yay!

I hope you all enjoy this wonderful Labour Day weekend and that the sun keeps shining for you wherever you may be.  Thanks for stopping in - your visit truly is always much appreciated!

Hugs,
Danielle

A little sprinkling of love with PaperWorksCo!

Hi again!

I'm back for my last 'Anything but a Card' posting for the month of August with PaperWorksCo.  This summer has been a real scorcher and there's nothing better than having a good ol' sprinkling in the garden to cool you off ... so that is what inspired todays little project!

I found this sweet little watering can template over on Splitcoaststampers in the resource section.  Super easy to download and print and even better, print it directly onto your patterned paper and bingo ... you're all set to go!  I used this lovely summery paper from Doodlebug.  I thought this project would be such a sweet favour at a wedding or garden party.

Whilst I haven't used any image I thought it would be perfect to use one of the new wedding sentiments on the front of the can ... isn't it lovely!

A bit of a bird's eye view on the project ... the flowers are the retro flower punch and the butterfly is the MS punch.  I also used the MS doily border punch to add some detail along the bottom of the can.  I filled this one with some Twizzlers in a cellophane bag and tied it with pink ribbon (but of course you can put anything inside)!

Challenges I'm entering this project in to:-

Totally Gorjuss - 'As you Like It'
Whoopsi Daisy Challenge - 'Summer Fun'
Incy Wincy Designs - 'Anything but a Card'
PaperCreationsInk - 'Show us your Flowers'
Dutch-Dare Card Challenges - 'Anything but a Card'

Thanks again for stopping in and checking out today's project - I hope it was worth the visit!  Be sure to pop on over to PaperWorksCo and check out what Janet has done too.  For the month of September I'm lucky enough to be showcasing the PaperCardKit and I can't WAIT ... the papers are delicious!  Enjoy your Sunday!!

Trim a Tree ... with Winter Wonderland!

Hi there!

It's Friday again which means it's time for my Winter Wonderland card for this weeks challenge - which is 'Trim a Tree'.  What a super fun theme this is and so many wonderful images to use!

I have used this gorgeous stamp which is part of the RAM Collection from PaperWorksCo.  You can find it here.  Isn't it just adorable??  I coloured with my copies and used a fabulous christmas paper collection which has some wonderful glittered sheets.  The layout is pretty simple as I wanted the image to take centre stage!  The sentiment comes with the stamp .. how fab is that!  The snowflakes, pearls and ribbon are all from stash.  I used the MS Fir Tree border punch behind the image.

A yummy treat ... peanut free!!

Hi there!

This weeks ABAC post for PaperWorksCo follows on from last week's birthday invitation.  In keeping with the robot theme for Jacob's birthday invites, I created this sweet treat bag holder.  Inside I have added  a couple of peanut-free peanut butter cookies.  Yes, that is contradictory but read on and I'll explain ...

Jacob has severe food allergies, nuts being one of them.  I miss peanut butter terribly, but of course, Jacob has never eaten it so therefore does't know what he's missing!  Anyway, I discovered WOW! Butter in the organic section of the grocery store one day ... a roasted soy product .... which tastes just like peanut butter - WOW definitely describes it!!  LOL   So I thought I would bake some peanut butter cookies using the WOW! Butter instead ... and it worked ... and Jacob LOVES them to boot!

So the motivation behind this treat bag is that many parents who don't have allergies to deal with don't often know of the alternatives out there.  So I thought whilst giving out treats, why don't I take advantage and do a little bit of educating at the same time!  I intend on each child receiving one of these treat bags, which will also include a recipe card inside for the parents ... they are soooo quick and easy to bake!

If you want to the recipe it is included in my post over at the PaperWorksCo blog here or you can request it and I'll email it to you!  Or you can simply take your Peanut Butter cookie recipe and replace the peanut butter with an alternative product!

Wow ... I've rambled on.  Apologies but this is an issue that is of vital importance and obviously one that is close to my heart.  Thanks for listening!!

Back to my project - I've used Alfy Tinheart once again to continue with the theme, same papers and colours.  The treat bag tutorial I found over on SCS and just modified the measurements to fit my treat bag - very easily done!

Here are some challenges I'm entering this in for:-

Craft us Crazy - 'Anything Goes'
One Stop Craft Challenges - 'Bold & Bright'
Craft your Passion - 'Anything but a Card'
Cards for Men - 'Anything Goes'
Ai Factory Challenge - 'Anything Goes'
Creative Craft World - 'For a Child'

Sweet Stampin' Challenge - 'Babies or Little ones'
Paper Playtime - 'Anything Goes'
Crafty Ann's Challenge - Scallops or Fancy Borders'
Sparkles Forum Challenges - 'One for the Boys'
Crafty Sentiments Designs - 'No Sentiment'

Thanks for stopping in today and be sure to pop on over to the PWCO blog and check out what my other DT gal, Janet, has on offer today too!  I appreciate your visits immensely and of course any comments that you so kindly leave.  We only have 2 days left here in Edmonton before we return to Ottawa.  We've had a fantastic time but I must admit to craving a bit of craft time ... I just hope Mr Mojo will be waiting for me on my return!

Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

Hugs,
Danielle x
