Snowman Wishes

Hello again!

Wow - I'm on a bit of a roll here!  AND I've started with Christmas cards too ... I guess the cooler weather is finally getting me to be cosy in my craft room!  :)

So I've used this super cute Penny Black snowman image (just inked up for the first time after having won it as blog candy ages ago)!!  Coloured with copics and using the traditional Christmas colours of red, green & white.  Paper is from stash and the snowflake is a MS punch.  I finally got myself some bakers twine and I love the red & white.  I threaded it through the centre of the snowflake and then tied a small bow on top.  Sentiment is from LOTV.

Some challenges I'm going to enter this card in for:-

Winter Wonderland - 'Across the Miles'
Craft your Passion Challenge - Hip to be 'Square'
Totally Gorjuss - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping in - I appreciate your time and thoughtful comments!

October Calendar Page & A very Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello there!

Firstly, I would like to wish all my lovely Canadian friends and fellow bloggers a very Happy Thanksgiving!  We're having a gorgeous weekend and it has certainly been one to be very thankful for.  I even managed time in my craft room yesterday - VERY thankful for that and to my mojo for finally wanting to come out and play!!

So here is October's calendar page.  I've used the adorable RAM image from PaperWorksCo which I've coloured using the warm grey copics with a splash of orange for the pumpkin.  I've done this before and I really love the finished look it produces.  The rest of the layout is pretty simple and the paper is from a Cosmo Cricket pad 'Nutmeg'.

I even managed some christmas cards yesterday so you may even see them later on or tomorrow!  I am going to try to get back in my craft room today.  I am going mostly for the 'Clean & Simple' look right now as I hope to get quite a few made whilst my mojo is willing to play along!

Hope you're all having a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Danielle

September's calendar page ... better late than never!

Hello there!

I know, I know .. it's been way too long since I last posted!  I hope you are all keeping well!  Aside from thoroughly enjoying a magnificent summer, my mojo has completely gone missing and life just hasn't afforded me much time in my craft room.  Ahh well, the month of September is upon us already, kids are back in school and the winter hibernation months are just around the corner, LOL!

Anyways, I only have a quick minute to post this before I head in to work.  I know it's late but at least I managed to do September ... poor August didn't even get a look in!  I coloured up this older Tilda with copics and used some Cosmo Cricket paper with some gorgeous fall colours and designs.

Thanks for stopping in and saying hi!  I can't honestly say when I'll be back but having a bit of a blogging break is lessening some of life's stresses.  I'll just see when my crafty mojo takes me ...  in the meantime take care and happy crafting to you!

Welcome July - a calendar page

Hello!

My goodness - I can't believe a whole month has gone by without a posting!  So sorry .. but at this time of year it's always super busy with the kids finishing up school and the weather is simply too gorgeous to not be outside!  Although we have had some pretty hot days where the coolness of my craft room was the absolute best place to be!!

So, without further ado, here is my calendar page for July.  Yesterday we celebrated Canada Day so this weekend has been a 3 day long weekend and it's been wonderful having the additional day off with the family!

I have used the super sweet PWCO image and have coloured with copic markers.  I had a lovely delivery of goodies the other day and my new Memory Box cloud dies were in there!  I love them - I think I may indulge in the larger clouds too at some point!  I made the paper rose myself with a sizzix die and the sentiment stamp is from my stash.  Paper is MME (I believe).

Thanks for stopping in.   I really hope I can get into my craft room again soon but with the busy-ness of summer I really don't know!!  I appreciate any comments that you may leave and hope I can do a spot of blog hopping again soon!

Take care,
Danielle x

Welcome June .. two calendar pages!

Hi there!

I have two calendar pages for the new month of June to share with you today!  The top one I've used the super sweet LOTV image and used the lovely hues of aqua blue, brown & cream.  The image is coloured with copics and the paper is BG Capella.  Ribbon, flowers and spacer are from stash.

The second page I've done using the sweet Greeting Farm image, coloured with copics too.  I had forgotten about this delicious paper and made a little garden scene with her sitting on a bench (Magnolia) and punched out flowers and grass border.  I punched the MS double loop border and placed it on either side of the back panel for an added delicate touch.

I hope you like these ... best get cracking with my July pages as the months are just slipping by so crazy fast!

Thanks for stopping in today and taking a peek at my blog!  I always greatly appreciate your visits and any comments!

You're a Star!

Hi there!

Wow - another week rolled by so quickly!  Suffice to say I'm still here and bearing up under the weight of being a working single mom for this past week!  Hubby will be back late Friday night - geez, it can't come quick enough!!

Anyways, I was asked to make a thank you card for a synchro coach ... mmm, that had me stumped for a minute!  Well, this is what I came up with and I've used the colours of the team (Blue & Black).  It's hard to see but there is some cheesecloth behind the coloured image which I've glued the little silver stars on to.  The punched borders are from a Fiskars punch and the flip flops are from a stamp in my stash.  The sentiment stamp is from PWCO and the image I found on the web.

Here's another view of the card.  I hope she likes it - I know she had told me she searched all the regular card shops and couldn't find anything to fit the bill.  I'm really quite pleased with the finished result.

Well, that's me.  I need to get dinner cooking and then ready for work.  I'm providing dinner but my neighbour is feeding my boys tonight!!  Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping in and for any comments you may leave!

You're never more than a thought away ...

Hi there!

Another long absence since my last posting.  My crafting has been sadly neglected lately but I did manage to get some time in there today as it's a Bank Holiday Monday ... yippee!!  This is an LOTV stamp that arrived in my collection a while back and I'm only getting ink on it now .. oh well, better late than never, right?!

Image is coloured with copics and I've followed the sketch from the Sketch Saturday Challenge this week.  Papers are from MME Pretty Please Collection and the sentiment is from SU!  Ribbon, pearls, flowers, cheesecloth and punched border are all from stash.

Here's a close up of the coloured image for you.

And in keeping with my New Years resolution to finish off the insides of my cards at the time of making them, here is a peek inside.  It's finished off following the same layout as the main outside panel.

Challenges I'm entering this card in for:-

Cupcake Craft Challenges - 'Book Lover'
The Crafty Pad - 'Bingo' (Ribbon/Flowers/Bling(pearls))
Moving Along with the Times - 'Keep it Real'
Papertake Weekly - In the Garden
Stamptacular Sunday - In the Garden

That's all for now folks.  Not sure when I'll be back with another creation as hubby has just gone off to Asia for 2 weeks on another business trip ... that means 'single mom' time again and not much time for anything else ... but we'll see!!

Thanks for stopping in for a visit - I always appreciate you coming by and for any comments you may leave!

Welcome May ... a calendar page

Hello there!

So sorry for the long silence but as always, life gets busy and tends to take over - I'm sure I'm not the only one!!!  This is the first time I've managed to sit in my craft room and create ... my mojo has been a little lost too I have to say!

Well, here we are in May already - can you believe it!  I coloured up this cutie LOTV fairy with my copics and made the calendar page around that.  Papers are MME and Graphic 45.  Flowers, lace, pearls and sentiment are from my stash.

Thanks for stopping in - I really do appreciate it.  I hope I can get back to some regular crafting soon!!

Danielle

Spring Birthday!

Hello again!

I managed some time in my craft room yesterday and I had coloured up this new LOTV image which I just adore.  LOTV images are becoming more and more my favourite stamps ... I just love them!  This post is a little photo heavy but I don't often have the time to take more than 1 photo so I enjoyed a little more play time with my camera!!

This sweetie is coloured up with my copics and I sponged the background with Stormy Sky distress ink.  The gorgeous papers are from MME So Sophie.  I just love this pinky purple plum colour ... isn't it divine!  I actually even pulled out my sewing machine for this card - I'd forgotten just what a fabulous finishing touch it adds to the card.  Must find more time to do it more!  I haven't followed any particular sketch but everything seemed to fall into place nicely like this.  The doily, ribbon, lace, pearls & flowers are all from stash.  The sentiment is SU! and the button and twine are also from stash.

Here's a view of the finished inside - very simple but elegant.  The embossed butterfly is an SU! embosslits die/embossing folder - love it!

A side angle view of the card showing some of the dimension and the finished inside too.

A close-up of the coloured image.  Copic colours used are:

Skin: E000, E00, E11, R20
Hair: E21, E23, E25, E27
Clothes: R59, R81, R83, R85
Dog/Dirt: E30, E33, E34, E35, E37
Grass: G63, G67

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges this week:-

Lili's Little Fairies Challenge - Ribbon, Buttons & Bows
Paper Sundaes - Sundae Bar (lace, die cuts (nesties circles, butterflies)

Just for You ...

Hello peeps!

I have a card to share that I had made a couple of weeks ago and I'm just getting round to posting it now!  Tilda is coloured with copics and trimmed out with a nestabilities oval.  The layout and papers are very simple - the pink panel is embossed with a very sweet butterfly folder.  The bits of lace are from some lace trim and the flowers are from stash.

I'm going to enter this into the following challenges:-

Cupcake Craft Challenges - Spring is in the Air
Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Use your favourite tool (cuttlebug to emboss & die cut)

Well that's all for today folks!  It's going to be a bit of a dreary day here for Easter Monday so I'm going to head on down to my craft room for a little bit and see what my mojo can come up with!  I hope you all enjoy a wonderful day ... and many thanks for your visits here.  A welcome to my new followers too - I hope you're enjoying my creations!

Welcome April - a calendar page!

Hi again!

Happy April Fool's Day to you all - I hope you didn't get fooled!  haha

Well, here is my calendar page for the new month of April.  I wanted to do something related to Spring/Easter and had this sweet uninked Tilda in amongst my stamps.  It's a very simple layout as I chose the gorgeous BG Wisteria paper for the background and it's a scene in itself!  I cut Tilda out and placed her on some purple gingham ribbon and added some die cut butterflies (SU!) and a small cherry blossom and swirl.

Thanks for stopping in and taking a peek!  Make sure you pop on over to the lovely Christine's blog here as she always does the most beautiful calendar pages too!

I'm going to enter this into a couple of challenges:-

Paper Sundaes - Happy Easter

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday - I'm back to colouring more images for my 17 Easter Egg holders that I'm making .... 7 down 10 more to go, LOL!!!

Easter Egg Holder

Hello!

I saw this fabulous Easter Egg Holder tutorial over on the Whiff of Joy blog and was so inspired by it that I just had to make one of my own!  I had this adorable Tilda as chick image already coloured up so I went with the sweet colour hues of yellow and purple ... yellow is showing it's face again!!  I decorated up the front using flowers from stash, a green grass border with my MS grass punch and some raffia.

Here's a view showing you just how the holder works.  I will replace this plastic egg with a Kinder Surprise egg - it's the exact same fit.  Papers are from stash and I used the nestabilities circles to adhere to the openings.  The raffia is tied around the back so the back flap just lifts up when you want to take the egg out.

I just love this Easter project and will definitely be making some more in the coming week!  I hope it inspires you as much as it inspired me.  Give it a go - it really is super easy and quick to make!  The tutorial can be found here.

Right, well I'm off to make pancakes for breakfast as one of my boys had a friend for a sleepover last night and they always request pancakes and lots of yumminess for breakfast!!  I hope you all have a wonderful day.  It's a little dull here today so it's perfect to hang out in my craft room for a bit later!  Take care and thanks for stopping in for a visit - I always love seeing you here!

A dress full of eggs!

Hi there!

I hope you're all keeping well and thank you for stopping by today.  Sorry for the mini absence - the weather has been absolutely gorgeous here in Ottawa - a very unseasonally but stunning 25-30oc!  It's like we've had a mini summer vacation in the middle of March!  The weather is set to turn a little cooler again over the weekend but we've all been out enjoying the sunshine and warmth, hence my lack of posts!

Anyhow, I've been asked for some Easter cards and I coloured up this very sweet Tilda with Easter Eggs - isn't she adorable!  She's coloured up with copics and I have to say I'm quite captured by the pretty yellow - I'm not normally a yellow person - maybe it's all this early sunshine!!  LOL  Papers are from Kay & Co, flowers are a min punch and ribbon, pearls and doily are from stash.  I had some new LOTV stamps arrive yesterday and some of them were the new grunge corners - I've used them on this card on the green and patterned layers using brown ink.  Sentiment is from stash.

Here's a quick side view of the inside of the card, all finished off and ready to be sold!  Here's a front view showing the punched panel down the side - a new EK Success punch which I just love!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:-

Moving Along with the Times - Easter Wishes
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Crafty Purple Frog Challenge- Anything Goes
Crafts and Me Challenges - Light and Airy Spring Colours
Allsorts Challenges - 3 in a Row (my 3 flowers)
Totally Gorjuss - Spring

Thanks again for popping in - your visits are always so appreciated!  Hope to see you all again soon!

Easter Tilda

Hi there!

I love this very sweet Tilda to show you today.  I followed the sketch over at Cute Card Thursday and paired Tilda up with the gorgeous BG Cappella papers - love the hues of turquoise and brown/cream together.

All the embellishments are from my stash.  I recently found this gorgeous pearl border strip which I just love.  Tilda is coloured with copics and trimmed out.  I used my Retro Flower punch for the flowers and an MS border punch along the bottom (French Flourish I believe ... or something like that)!

Some challenges I have entered this card into are:-

Totally Papercrafts - My Favourite Things (favourite stamp (Tilda), favourite colour (turquoise), favourite embellishments (ribbon, lace, pearls, flowers)
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by everyone.  This is a busy week for me as my boys are home for March Break so I hope to spend as much time with them after I finish work!  Hope you all have a great week!

ENJOY ... it's your day!

Hi there!

I'm on a roll in my craft room at the moment and made the most of my day off on a rather 'chilly' day here in Ottawa (-25oc)!!!  I coloured up this sweet Bunny Tilda with my copics and trimmed her out and sat her on the Magnolia swing.  I punched out the little flowers and added a pearl for their centres.

Papers are DCWV Nana's Nursery (Girl) - the flowery panel is glittered too which doesn't show up in the photo.  I tied the lace with some twine and added a button for extra detail.  I used the MS grass punch to add the grass detail under the swing.  Sentiment is from stash.

Here's a quick view of the finished inside of the card.  I added another strip of punched grass to complement the front.  I've left it sentiment free inside.

I've found a few challenges which I can enter this card into.  I haven't entered any challenges for a few weeks so thought I would take the time to find some:-

Stamp with Fun - Pink & Green
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Text Me (Use a sentiment)
Cute Card Thursday - Signs of Spring

That's all for now!  Thanks for stopping in - I hope to get some time tonight on the couch and blog hop for a bit!  Until then, your visits and comments are greatly appreciated!

Hugs,

Another March page ... and some copic colouring

Hello again!

Back so soon - who would have guessed!!  LOL  I have been wanting to put a second calendar together to go in our other Physiotherapy clinic so I have finally done a second 'March' page and here it is using a very sweet LOTV image.  I know it's a little on the summery side but I needed something pretty and colourful!  I coloured this with my Prisma pencils - they haven't seen daylight for quite some time so figured it was about time I got them out.  I was a little rusty with them but am happy with the overall finished look of the image.

The papers are the gorgeous K&Co 'Watercolour' pad which have the most glorious mix of floral papers you could ever want!  The butterflies are punched using the MS monarch butterfly.

I had some time to play today and have been wanting to try and create folds in clothing using my copic markers.  There are plenty of 'how to' videos on youtube so I sat myself down and this is what I came up with.  Have to say I'm quite thrilled with the result and will look forward to using this sweet Tilda on an up-coming project or card.  (Maybe on a future calendar page)!!  LOL

Right, that's it from me - can't chat long as I'm in charge of the roast beef dinner tonight and have the potatoes on the go and the yorkshire puddings to get ready!!  Yum ... I'm getting hungry!!

Thanks for stopping in - love seeing you here and am so glad you came by for a visit!

Welcome March ... a calendar page

Hi there

I have my March calendar page to share with you all today.  I was hoping the beginning of March would bring some signs of Spring ... but alas we begin the new month with a big snow storm - sigh!

However, I thought I would bring some pretty colours into the new month and I've used some gorgeous EP paper and this sweet CC Designs image, coloured with copics.

The layout is pretty simple and I added a small organza bow to add a touch of detail.  I had hoped to post this earlier but unfortunately I got called in to work sooner than what had been planned!  Be sure to pop on over to my dear friend, Christine's blog, who also does the most delightful calendar pages.

Thanks for stopping in again ... your visits are always so welcome and gratefully received!  I hope you all have a great remainder of the week and a wonderful start to the weekend.

Take care ... hugs,
Danielle x

Butterfly Elegance

Hi there!

So I've decided to go back to basics and make some very Clean and Simple cards.  I'm selling my cards at a couple of places and they're being sold quickly so I needed to find a way to still create beautiful and elegant but 'cheaper' and 'quicker' cards - hence going back to basics!  I really love this set of 4 matching cards that I've made today - I used the gorgeous colour combo of aqua and pink and used an old SU! flower set and a flourish from my stash.  The butterfly is a MS punch and the sentiments are SU!  On two of the cards I've embellished with pearls and the other two with bling.

Thanks for stopping in - I always love your visits.  We seem to have been hit by a stomach bug that is doing the rounds so I'll make this a quick post!  I have been blog hopping but I just haven't had the time to leave any comments  :(

I hope to catch up with you all again sometime soon.

Take care,

Spring Swing

Hi there!

Can you tell I'm hankering for Spring to arrive!!  Still a ways to go before we see signs of Spring here in Canada but hopefully it won't be too much longer!

I vowed to get into my craft room this weekend so after some baking (yummy banana muffins for the kids lunches) I descended to my craft room and inked up (for the first time may I add) this delightful LOTV image.  I coloured with copics and sponged the background with distress inks to create the sky. The papers are Stella & Rose from MME - aren't they just gorgeous!

Here's a side view of the card.  I'm keeping up with my new year promise to finish off the insides of my cards when making them - woohoo!!

The finished inside panel of the card, with details matching the front.  Hope you like my card today.  I really hope I'll get some blog hopping done in the next couple of days but hubby just flew out to Japan today for a week business trip so I'll be on my own with the boys and working at the same time ...eeek!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:-

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Pearls & Lace
Moving Along with the Times - Cute Critters
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Allsorts Challenge - Free & Easy February
The Crafty Pad - The Letter 'B' (bunny, bow, butterfly)

Thanks for stopping in - your visits are always so much appreciated!

Whoooo loves you?

Hi there!

Another quickie card for you tonight.  I managed to get this sweet valentine card done on Monday ... and lucky for me it was sold by the end of the day to a colleague at work!

This cute owl is a new addition to my collection and is coloured with copics.  I love the pink/brown colour combo and I punched out loads of hearts using my MS heart punch.  The sentiment is from stash.

Here's the completed inside panel of my card.  Whoooo loves you?  I LOVE YOU!  So cute isn't it!  Again, pulled the papers and colours and punched hearts from the main panel to complete the inside look.

Thanks for stopping by ... I so appreciate you coming by and I hope my schedule eases up some so I can spend a little time playing blog catch up!  Not sure when that will be as hubby jet sets off to Japan at the weekend for a weeks business trip ... sigh!

Take care and hope to see you all again here soon!

Tilda blowing kisses ... a kleenex box project

Hi there!

Thanks for popping in today to see my little Tilda project.  I've been asked to make up some of these kleenex box covers and I thought I would do a valentine one using this sweet Tilda.  I have altered it slightly so that she is blowing hearts - isn't she cute!

I followed the tissue box cover tutorial over on Splitcoaststampers - super easy to follow!  Each side and the top is embossed with this sweet daisy flower design (just given to me by a friend, Lilia, thank you!)  I sponged Spun Sugar distress ink on the edges and over the embossed flowers to add in a gentle hint of pink.

I used the MS Deep Edger heart border punch for the bottom border of the box and trimmed it with this gorgeous pearl lace.  I added some punched hearts in both red and pink.  Tilda is coloured with copics and trimmed out and sitting on top of the hearts.

I decorated the top of the box with some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaf punch from MS. The oval is die cut using a testability.

Thanks for your visit today - it's greatly appreciated, as are any comments that you may leave!  It took me all day to get this done today.  It was my day off work and I had hoped to get a lot more done but unfortunately my 10 yr old son, Joel, had an asthma attack at school.  He is doing ok now but it's always a scare when it happens.

Have a great evening everyone ... not sure when I'll be able to post again.  I seem to be averaging one a week at the moment.  I'm loving my job but it sure does get in the way of my crafting, LOL!!!

Ahoy there me matey ....

Hello there!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  I managed a little crafty time and wanted to make a boy card and decided to use Pirate Edwin which had yet to see ink!  He's coloured with copics and I found this fab paper in my stash which is eons old.  I applied a new copic technique to this image ... colouring in fabric folds.  Can you see them on the bottom of his pants?  Love how it turned out!  I pulled out some burlap (hessian to the UK folks!!) which adds a nice touch to the card.  I also added the charm.

In keeping with my New Year crafting resolution, I finished the inside of the card.  This one is ready to be packaged up and hopefully get sold.  Unfortunately I don't have time to scour through the challenges that are out there at the moment but I do thank you for popping in and for any comments that you may leave.  I will try my hardest to return each one.

See you again soon!

Tilda - As cute as can Bee ... and some sad news

Hi there!

Yippee ... I got some more time in the craft room today!  And I decided to ink up a 'new to me' Tilda stamp that I had purchased back in the Fall.  I have to admit to being a little scared to pick up my copics again after not colouring with them for so long, but after a few minutes I was in my 'zone' and happily off in copic land!  The papers are from an SU! pad.

It took me forever and an age to embellish this card - I just couldn't find the right stuff until I found this felt and beaded flower.  I adhered the two together and I think it's the ideal finishing touch I was looking for!  I've also made a commitment to myself this year that any cards I make I will finish off the inside before I walk away from my desk.  So, this card is complete and ready to be sold!

I'm sure there are plenty of challenges out there right now but I don't have the energy to sit and wander through them all.  Maybe next time ...!!

Some sad news which I need to share is that PaperWorksCo is closing it's online store.  I have been a part of Peggy's fabulous DT team for 2 years and I am going to miss her and the team terribly.  She had a fabulous 4 years with her online store but commitments and priorities have changed and she and Mike have decided to move on to pastures new.  I wish them all the best in their new ventures and can't thank them enough for the generosity they've shared with me and the beautiful friendships that I've made through PWCO.  Goodbye PaperWorksCo ... you will be sorely missed.

Thanks for stopping in today - great to see you here!  And thanks for any comments that you should leave - I love reading them and they are very much appreciated!  Until next time ....

Hugs, Danielle
