Winter Wonderland - No DP Challenge!

Good Friday morning all!

I hope you are all well - unfortunately I had a bit of an accident yesterday and I think I've broken my little toe!!  Aside from the swelling and bruising it's doing ok but it's a good reason to sit down and maybe get some crafting done!

Anyways, onto todays Winter Wonderland challenge which is hosted by me this week!  'No DP' is the challenge so it'll be a perfect chance to see those beautiful background stamps, embossing etc.  We're sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs and the winner will get to choose 4 digi stamps of their choice!  Unfortunately I wasn't able to use one of their images on my card as my printer has been having issues this week!!  But the rest of the DT have so please make sure you pop on over and check them out - they're super duper!

I've used a trusty Tilda (she was already inked and coloured in my stash) and I've followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday this week.  The background is embossed using a Sizzix plate.  The circle sentiment is from SU! and the snowflakes are an MS punch.

Well, I'm keeping it short and sweet today.  My eldest turns 12 tomorrow and he's very worried that my foot is not going to be better to do stuff with him so on that note I had better rest up and ice it again!!

Thanks for your visit today - it is hugely appreciated and I hope you're able to join in with our Winter Wonderland challenge this week!  Take care and thanks for any comments you may leave!

Two Peas in a Pod!

Good Morning all!

I hope you're all well and continuing to enjoy a wonderful summer!  Today is the final installment of my Papercardkit for PaperWorksCo so I have this fun little shaker card for you.

I've been asked to make a baby card for the arrival of twins and when I saw this 'Two Peas in a Pod' sentiment and paper I remembered I owned this gorgeous little sweet pea baby stamp by Stamping Bella.  So I've made a rather unconventional baby card but I think it's turned out sooo cute!  I coloured the baby images with copics (I reverse stamped one image so I could get them looking at eachother).  They're cut out then I added a wire 'curl' to the top of their heads.  The flower behind them is the fun shaker part which I filled with seed beads.  The flowers, ribbon and sentiment are all part of the papercardkit.  This kit finishes at the end of the month so you only have 4 days left to get your hands on it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I really appreciate your visits over to my blog and the time you take to leave me a comment!  My craft room is still feeling a little neglected with this gorgeous summer weather but with the summer season being so short in Canada one has to make the most of being outside and the beautiful glorious sunshine.

Take care,

Winter Wonderland - Let's get sketchy!

Happy Friday everyone!

Boy, am I ever glad it's the end of the week!  I'm looking forward to the weekend and chilling with the family!

Here we are already at the fourth Friday in July - wow!  Kate is our lovely host this week at Winter Wonderland she has this fabulous sketch for us all to follow.  Great sketch Kate - it was really fun to work with all those circles!

I went with a pretty simple card this week.  My mojo is taking a major siesta on these hot days - it seems to enjoy an afternoon swim to cool off, LOL!!!  I used this super cute penguin pair from Motivet and coloured it up with distress inks for a change.  The paper is a christmas pad from my stash and the sentiment circle is from Magnolia.  A simple blue silk bow finishes the card off.  Like I said, simple but I like it!  Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's gorgeous creations - they've done a fantastic job with this sketch!

I hope you're able to join in with the sketchy fun this week over at Winter Wonderland.  We're being sponsored by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp so you could be in with a chance of winning a $15 spending spree!!  What are you waiting for!

I hope you all enjoy a wonderful Friday and start to the weekend!  Wishing you all lots of sunshine and relaxation!  Thank you so much for visiting today and leaving a comment - it is so appreciated and I love to read them all!

A New Adventure ....

Hi there!

Welcome to another Papercardkit Wednesday with PaperWorksCo!  I hope you guys all enjoyed the blog hop on Saturday and got a chance to see all of the new stamp images by Rachelle Anne Miller - aren't they gorgeous!!!   And remember, if you didn't get a chance yet you can still participate until Friday to be in with a chance at winning some free stamps!

Well, today I wanted to show you this cutie and how beautifully it goes with the papers from the July kit.  I love that these papers are double-sided and so fabulously co-ordinated!  I decided to try a new technique on this card and I've made a T-Slide card - the tutorial can be found on Splitcoaststampers here.  It is quite easy to make and I really love the end result.  It's a great card to combine co-ordinating papers with too!

Here's a view of the inside and slider, which when pulled, displays the hidden message inside!  The matching sentiment reads 'The path to your new adventure starts here'.  Isn't that great!  Perfect for so many different occasions.  You can find all of the new RAM stamps on sale here.  Go quickly though as there is still 10% off the I WANT IT ALL bundle and it won't last forever!!!

Well, that's all for today folks!  I hope you're able to leave a comment and let me know you've visited!  I must admit to finding it a little tough to spend time on the computer right now when the weather is so gorgeous outside, so any and every comment that is left is truly greatly appreciated!

I hope you enjoy your day and whatever is in store for you!

Summer Lovin' Blog Hop with PaperWorksCo

Hi and Welcome!

So glad you could make it to the next release of stamps from PaperWorksCo using images from Rachelle Anne Miller (RAM).  The blog hop is sure to be an exciting one and I KNOW you won't be disappointed with the fabulous images that are coming your way!

You should have arrived by way of Bella's blog but incase you haven't started from the beginning, you will want to go back to the start here so you don't miss out on anything!

So I get to show you the delightful 'Day at the Beach' - isn't it just the cutest!  I LOVE the beach so putting this card together was just so much fun for me!  I decided on an easel card as I wanted to incorporate at least one shell into the card and this was how I wanted to do it!  The image is coloured with copics and the papers are from Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety pack (the July papercardkit).  The punched seaside border was a gift from a friend (but I think will have to be a permanent purchase one of these days!!!) - it's so perfect for this card.  I punched out one of the little circles and placed it on the image to represent the sun.  I added some white ric-rac to give the feel of waves.

Close-up of the image

This photo gives you a clearer view of the sandpaper I used to really give the card it's final 'beachy feel'.  I added a shell, the sentiment (which I love) and some more ric-rac.

I certainly hope you love the card and have enjoyed what I've done with this cute image!  Your next stop is the ever-so creative Sunghee - you certainly won't be disappointed I can assure you!  In case you get lost here is the full list of the blog hop team!

Winter Wonderland - Angels & Glitter!

Hi!

It certainly seems to be Christmas in July out in blogland at the moment and this week at Winter Wonderland we want to see your angels and glitter!  I personally LOVE angels so this theme was right up my alley!  I love this particular angel image by Inkadinkado.

So for my card I followed the sketch over at Sketch Saturday and went with a pale blue/grey & white colour scheme.  The paper is from Magnolia and the ribbon & lace is from my stash.  I added stickles glitter to the angel's snowflake trail.  The sentiment is Penny Black and the silver pearls are also from stash.  I will also add this card into Cute Card Thursday where the challenge is Get a Head Start (on Christmas) this week.

Our challenge this week is sponsored by Whimsy Stamps so I certainly hope you're able to join us!  The rest of the DT have produced gorgeous cards and are always so inspiring!  Thanks for stopping by today - I'm so grateful that you've come for a visit and have taken the time to leave a comment.  I know the summer months are always so busy!  I'm gradually catching up on my favourite blogs - I might not be leaving comments on every one but I'm certainly viewing all your fabulous creations!

Have a wonderful Friday!

Seed Gift Box

Hi there!

Wow - I have so been MIA lately - my apologies but I'm really lacking some serious crafting mojo at the moment!!  And of course having the 3 boys home 24/7 doesn't leave too much time for crafty fun!

Anyways, it is another Wednesday and I have my second project to post for the PaperWorksCo July Papercardkit using the fabulous Garden Variety papers again from Cosmo Cricket.  These are so fun to play with and perfect for all those summer cards and projects that you need to get done.

Today, I decided to alter an empty cigar box.  I ended up having to completely dismantle the box to cover it properly with the paper.  It was very easy to do and fit back together again quite simply.  I loved this verse which was included in the kit and I thought it would make a perfect little Seed Gift Box to give to a gardening friend or even make a great teacher gift!  The papers and embellishments are from the kit (excluding the plain red paper which is from my scrapbooking stash).  The metal hinges are also from my stash.

As you can see I've placed some seed packets inside but you could also easily add in a pair of garden gloves and a garden centre gift card.

I am adding this project into a couple of challenges out there:-

Creatalicious Challenges - Something 3D
Simon Says Stamp - 'Let's Get Fruity!!'

Thanks for stopping by today - I really appreciate your visit.  I hope my little project has inspired you in some way!  I love reading your comments and I really do thank you for taking the time to leave them!  I hope you all enjoy a fabulous Wednesday!

Twas the Night before Christmas - A Winter Wonderland Challenge

Hi!

We've reached another Friday - wow, these weeks sure are going by fast!  And this has been a scorching one and because of that I have to admit to having had a tough time getting a christmas card done!  However, it did get done and this week Lynsey has given us the challenge of 'Twas the Night before Christmas' over at the Winter Wonderland blog.

With that title a mouse comes to mind immediately so I pulled out these cutie House Mouse images from my stash who are decorating their tree - and in this case it's the night before Christmas!!!!  I coloured with my prisma pencils and OMS.  I kept the card very simple in design as I wanted to use lots of punched MS branches to create more christmas tree.  I found these sweet embellishments in my stash so added them to look like decorations on the tree.  Some stickles on the branches add a little extra sparkle to the card.

I hope you're able to join in with us this week - there's a fabulous prize up for grabs again from Delicious Doodles.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment - I always love to know you've visited.  I still haven't found the time to pop onto my favourite blogs and go commenting as I've been making the most of this gorgeous weather and swimming with the boys!   I hope I will get a chance to hop around this weekend!

Take care and enjoy your Friday!

HOT! HOT! HOT!

Hi there!

Phew, it's hot here!  We've been experiencing 44oc with the humidex these last few days - thank goodness for air conditioning!

This month I am showcasing the Papercard kit from PaperWorksCo!  And trust me when I say that this kit is HOT! HOT! HOT!  It is full of scrummy goodness with papers from Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety, matching cardstocks and embellishments.  So I decided to go with a hot chilli pepper theme and make a hostess gift with a recipe card for homemade salsa.  I went with another criss-cross card (these are so fun and easy to make) and made a matching sleeve for the jar of salsa mix.  Everything is from the Papercard kit.  I used my MS zigzag punch on the recipe card and sleeve.   I think this makes the perfect hostess gift for those last minute invites to the pool.  And I can honestly say this was put together in less than 20 mins!

Thanks for your visit today - I love that you're able to come by and leave me a comment!  And be sure to check out PWCO - Peggy still has the amazing 40% sale off!

Stay cool!

Just Magnolia Challenge - Criss-Cross Card

Firstly, I'd like to wish a very Happy 4th of July to all of my American blogging friends - I hope you all have a safe and happy celebration!

In between swimming, drinking G&Ts, kids and enjoying the sunshine I have put together this criss-cross card for the Just Magnolia challenge this week!  I haven't done one of these before and I followed Jeanette's fabulous tutorial over on the challenge blog.  I used this gorgeous Ballerina Tilda (kindly borrowed from my friend) and coloured her with copics.  She was an absolute dream to colour in.  Her tiara is covered with stickles although the angle of the camera didn't pick up the sparkle too well unfortunately.  The dp is from the Luxury Stack by DCWV (beautiful pearlised papers) and I used the MS punch for the borders.  Ribbon, tulles and flowers are all from stash.  I will also enter this in at Totally Papercrafts where their challenge is 'One for the Girls'.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I need to do a bit of catch up on my blogging - I'm a little behind but it's so hard to be inside when the weather outside is absolutely gorgeous!  This week is set to be a scorcher with temps rising to 34oc with humidex expected to hit 42oc!!!! WOW!!!

I appreciate every comment you leave so thank you very much for taking the time!  Enjoy what's left of your weekend!

Winter Wonderland - Punch it Out!

Hi there!

I hope you are all keeping well and thankful it's Friday and the start of another weekend!  We celebrated Canada Day here yesterday and whilst it was a pretty quiet and uneventful start to the day, it unfortunately ended with quite distressing neighbourhood news.   It seems apparent that kids were letting off firecrackers by a house currently under construction and the next thing it's up in flames and two homes are completely destroyed with a third badly damaged.  Thankfully noone was hurt but the damage is estimated at $1million!  I can't begin to tell you the feelings you get when this happens just down the street from you and your kids witness it too.  I've had a gazillion questions to deal with from my boys to assure them that we and our house are safe.

Anyhow, let's move onto the business of the day which is my DT card for the new Winter Wonderland challenge which begins today and for which I'm host.  I chose to Punch it Out!  So let's see you pull out your punches and die cuts and create something christmassy!

I decided to go with a white card - I've seen so many around blogland lately and have admired them greatly.  So I thought I would give it a try and really love the result.  I used my cricut to die cut the trees and the reindeer and an MS pine needle border punch along the bottom.  I wanted to emboss the trees with different designs to make them stand out from eachother.  As much as I tried to go with all white I had to add a pop of colour somewhere so decided to add the punched word JOY in red cardstock.  Do you like it?   A sheer white organza ribbon adds a final touch.

I sure hope you're able to join in our challenge this week which is sponsored by the generous Nikki from Bunny-Zoe Crafts where there's a fabulous prize up for grabs.  The DT have some marvellous inspiration for everyone too!

Thanks for stopping by today - your visit is very much appreciated as is every comment that you leave!  I hope you all enjoy a wonderful day and whatever you're doing and wherever you are - please stay safe!

Hugs,
Danielle x
