Timothy the Tiger

Hello!

Welcome to my last 'Free for All' posting for PaperWorksCo - it has been a fun month showcasing different projects using products from PaperWorksCo.

Today I've made this cute corner bookmark using Timothy the Tiger from the Jungle Jesters set.  Isn't he the cutest - I personally think he has more meow than grrrrrr!!!  I've been wanting to make one of these bookmarks for ages.  My eldest son is an avid reader and has been bugging me for the longest time to make him a bookmark.  So, like the true procrastinator that I am, I finally got round to it, LOL!  I followed the tutorial I found on SCS here.

Timothy is coloured with copics and cut out.  I distressed the nestie circle with Tea Dye ink.  The jungle paper is DCWV Safari stack and the orange cardstock and backing paper (Jillibean Soup) is from Peggy's store.  The sentiment ticket is Tim Holtz.

Here's how the bookmark sits on the corner of the page.  I think I will be making lots of these for christmas gifts this year ... pair it up with a nice Chapters gift card in a matching card holder and they make perfect teacher gifts or stocking stuffers!

Thanks for your visit today.  I love that you're able to stop by and am so grateful for the comments you leave - they are a ray of added sunshine in my day!  Have a fabulous day whatever you're doing!

Winter Wonderland - All I want for Christmas!

Hello!

So glad you could stop by today!  I have my DT card for this weeks Winter Wonderland challenge which is hosted by my lovely teamie Kate.   She has given us the challenge 'All I want for Christmas' - what a fabulous theme which can be interpreted in so many ways!

I decided to pull out one of my Tildas which I haven't played with in a while.  I also saw that the Simon Says challenge this week is Paper Piecing so decided to add that into my card too.  All my papers are BG Wassail which I just love.    I paper pieced Tilda's dress, her bow and the two parcels.  The rest of Tilda is coloured with copic markers.  I added a doily from my stash and a glittery (I promise, it is glittery - it just doesn't show up in the pic) Tim Holtz flourish.  I also managed to get my hands on a book of Tim Holtz's ticket sentiments recently - just couldn't resist those!

We are sponsored by Whimsy Stamps this week so hope you're able to stop by and join in with the festive fun!  We now are officially under 4 months away 'til Christmas .... are you getting your cards ready??  The rest of the DT girls have come up with some splendid inspiration for this challenge so if your christmas mojo is not quite there yet, be sure to check them out!

I will enter this card into the following challenges:-

Stamp with Fun - Card for a girl
Creative Card Crew - Sparkle & Shine
SirStampalot Challenge - Bring on the Bling
Creative Inspirations Challenge - Christmas in August
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Two's better than one (use 2 stamped images)

Thanks again for your visit here today - I love having you stop by and I really appreciate every comment that is left!  I wish you all a wonderful start to the weekend and hope the sun shines where you are!

Bon Voyage ....

Hi there!

This is a card I made a couple of weeks ago and haven't had time to blog until now.  I was asked to make a Bon Voyage card for someone leaving to go to Paris for 2 years.  Unfortunately I have been on a spending freeze and haven't bought any new Magnolia stamps for ages and as much as I love some of the new Bon Voyage collection I haven't succumbed to buying any .... yet!!!

So I hunted through my vast collection of rubber and stamped images and came across this super sweet Stamping Bella image which I thought is very Parisian Chic!  I decided to make an awning card to give the feel that these gals are drinking Cafe Lattes al fresco on the Champs Elysee .... well, one can only imagine ...LOL!!!

Anyhow, this is the end result and I have to say I'm really happy with it!  The sentiment was stamped with an alphabet stamp from my stash.

I hope you're all enjoying a fabulous day .... it's a little cool and cloudy here so I think some crafty time may be the order of the day!  Thanks for stopping by and leaving your much appreciated comments - I'm going to get a coffee and sit down and catch up on some blog hopping!!

Take care all!

Desk Caddy & Notepad

Hi and welcome to my Free for All day again for PaperWorksCo!  Today I'm focusing on stamp-free projects as I wanted to focus on all the gorgeous papers that Peggy has in the store.  Also, I am a huge paper hoarder and I figured I need to stop stroking them and start using them instead, LOL!!!

So I've had this fabulous desk caddy tutorial sitting around for ages and finally decided to give it a go!  Oh boy was it ever easy - 12x12 cardstock with 2 12x12 designer papers, some folds and there you have it!  Seriously, it's that easy!  I chose these pretty papers from Basic Grey's Euphoria collection.

Now I have followed the tutorial but I think I will tweak it a bit more and make a divider that I can place at the bottom so the desk items will have support when they sit inside the caddy and not fall into the caddy so much.

Next I made a matching notepad still using paper from the Euphoria collection.  I used my Cricut to cut out the word NOTES and punched these small retro flowers with a leftover piece of designer paper from the desk caddy.  A gem bling in each of their centers finishes off the look to this notepad.

My visitors are now gone and my house is somewhat back to normal!!  We had a fabulous time with them but the house now needs to get back to some sort of a routine - looking forward to school starting up again in 2 weeks to be honest!  Thanks for stopping by and paying me a visit - I really do appreciate your time and your comments!  I'm off the blog hop for a bit!

Don't forget the PWCO Summer Ultimate Challenge is now done and voting has begun - make sure you get over there to place your votes and make sure your favourite team wins!  :)

Blue Monkeys

Good Monday morning to you!

I have a little something to share with you today ..... a card made by my 20yr old goddaughter, Lisa.  She has been visiting with me and yesterday we got to have some crafty time together!  Lisa is studying 3D Design at Portsmouth University so loves to get crafty and with the rainy weather we had yesterday it was a perfect opportunity to sit down together and stamp.

Lisa hasn't stamped or made a card before so this was a new experience for her.  She chose this super cute Changito image and the wacky girl that she is, coloured her monkeys blue!  She followed the sketch over at Sketch Saturday so I will enter this card over at that challenge and I believe it also follows the Colour Create challenge this week which is Ivory, Duck Egg blue and one other colour.  The image is coloured with distress inks and flowers and papers are from stash.

Hope you like it - I will have my regular PaperWorksCo post up tomorrow for my Free for All project - hope you can come back and pay me another visit!

Take care and thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments - they are always so much appreciated!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland ....

It's Friday again - these weeks sure are flying by aren't they!  I'm at the tail end of my visitors so by the middle of next week my routine should be relatively back to normal.  And then of course school will be starting back up!

Today is another challenge at Winter Wonderland and our wonderful teamie, Marianne, has asked us go Walking in a Winter Wonderland this week.  This was a fun challenge and I decided to pull out a completely different image from you're normally used to from me.  I also made this super cute snow globe card (tutorial available at Splitcoaststampers).  I chose to go pink as I loved these papers!  The snowflakes are MS punch on glitter cardstock and I adhered polar white flower soft to the white snow drift at the top of the card.  Bella is coloured with copics.

I hope you can stop by over at the Winter Wonderland challenge blog - Simon Says Stamp is our sponsor this week and you could be in to win a $15 shopping spree - imagine all the goodies you could get with that!!!  We also have our featured Designer in the Spotlight too!

Thanks for stopping by and paying me a visit.  I love to read your comments so I hope you're able to leave me one.

Take care and hope you all enjoy a wonderful Friday and start to the weekend!

PWCO Ultimate Summer Challenge - Inspiration Day!

Hi!

Today is Inspiration Day over at PaperWorksCo for their week of the Ultimate Summer Challenge.  I chose to be on the Inspiration Team and the idea is to base your card on an animal of your choice, it must be more inspired than simply the stamp you use, but the overall feel of the card. Specially, the card has to be more than just using the animal stamp. For example, you can look at Zoie the Zebra, and make a card using a zebra stripe pattern, or make a jungle themed card using the Jungle Jesters. The variations are endless.

So I made this fun jungle scene card.  I am so happy with the end result of this.  All the images are coloured in with copics.  The dp is from the Safari Collection pad from DCWV and the big jungle leaves are die cuts from my stash.  I embossed the top panel with a cuttlebug folder and the flowers are Prima.

This card folds flat like a book.  I can't remember where I found the instructions but I ended up having to modify it and create my own.  I will try and remember to do a tutorial on this card at some point as I think it's a really neat effect.  Let me know if you'd be interested in a tutorial.

Well, I am still entertaining visitors and having lots of fun.  Hopefully by the end of the week my schedule will be calming down and I will get a chance to start blog hopping again!  I feel like I've been totally out of the loop lately - please accept my apologies for not visiting you all.  Thanks for visiting and leaving your comments - I really do appreciate them!

Winter Wonderland - Tag It!

Hello!

Welcome to another Winter Wonderland challenge - this week Lynsey is hosting our challenge 'Tag It'.  It's a great opportunity to start getting your christmas wrappings ready.  I have made this simple snowflake tag and added lots of twinklets to the snowflake for plenty of sparkle and texture.

Be sure to check out the challenge blog where Delicious Doodles is our sponsor this week.  We hope you can join in our Tag It! challenge.

This is a super quick post as our visitors are keeping us occupied!  Just to think, only 3+ more weeks and summer vacation is over already - we have to make the most of the beautiful weather whilst it's still with us!  I hope you're enjoying your Friday and can look forward to a fabulous weekend!

Thanks, as always, for stopping by and leaving your comments!  My schedule and routine will be back to normal soon I promise!!  :)

Take care,

Mini Accordion File Folder

Hi there!

I hope you're all well - I'm enjoying a fabulous time with my visitors so you'll have to excuse my lack of presence in blogland these last few days!

Today is my 'Free for All' day at PaperWorksCo and I decided to make this sweet mini accordion file folder.  I've done one of these before and had a lot of fun making this one again.  The papers and image are all available from PaperWorksCo.

I coloured Jam Tinheart (robot) in with my copics and colour co-ordinated him with my papers.  For the outer panels I used matt board to make the folder sturdy.

Here's a side view of the accordion files showing.  My goddaughter has now claimed this as her own - I wonder what fun things she'll find to fill it with!!!

I hope you all enjoy a beautiful day!  It is hot, hot, hot here and we're off go-karting and mini-golfing followed by some poolside relaxing.  Thanks for visiting and any comments you leave - they are all so greatly appreciated!

Winter Wonderland - An Easel card with sparkle and shine!

Hello friends!

Gosh - it's Friday again!!  I have had such a busy week entertaining unexpected guests, sleepovers, playdates etc. that Friday is here and my UK guests arrive in 7 hrs and I haven't even started the cleaning yet - yikes!!!  To make matters worse I've woken up with a stinker of a headache too - it must be the heavy humidity we've been having.

Anyways, here's my card for the Winter Wonderland challenge this week which is set by the lovely Janet.  She is asking us to make an easel card with sparkle & shine.  We are sponsored this week by Robyn's Fetish Stamps - unfortunately my printer is playing silly buggers and won't co-operate so I was unable to use one of their images for my card.  I did, however, use this gorgeous sleigh stamp from The Stamp Barn on these fabulous sparkly papers (sorry, can't remember who the papers are by).  I punched out lots of blue sparkly snowflakes with my trusty MS punch and added some white glittery floss to the side embossed panel.  Sentiment is from The Stamp Barn too.  I coloured the sleigh in very subtly with Weathered Wood distress ink and added some glamour dust as snow on the ground.  I'm also entering this card into Cute Card Thursday challenge 'Whateva' and Simon Says Stamp 'Sing It Baby' (Jingle Bells).
So there you have it!  I hope you're able to pop on over to Winter Wonderland and check out the rest of my teamies fabulous creations this week.  And even better, join in with the challenge and get going on those christmas cards!!

Thanks for stopping by for another visit - I appreciate all your visits so much and will do my best to return the favour and comment when I get a chance.  I honestly don't like not having enough time to visit my favourite blogs and admire all the gorgeous handiwork  :(

Enjoy your Friday and have a wonderful weekend!

Star Player!

Hi there!

A new month means a new PaperWorksCo challenge and I have the pleasure of posting on Tuesdays for the month of August.  'Free for All' allows me to showcase any project/card with materials from the PWCO store.

So today I have this homemade picture frame.  Jacob played T-Ball for the first time this year so when I saw PWCO released the Sports Series #2 set and Zac came out all dressed in his baseball gear, I knew he would be getting lots of use!  I love to make these picture frames to gift to family members who are all overseas.

For the base I used matt card and this fabulous Jillibean Soup paper.  I matched up the colours as best I could to Jacob's softball T-Shirt.  Zac is coloured with copics and STAR PLAYER is done with doodlebug alphabet stickers which I then flocked in blue.  The metal stars are from my stash.  I bound it together using my Bind it All machine.

Thanks for your visit today - I love that you're able to find the time to stop by and leave me a comment!  Every single one is very much appreciated!  I'm getting over my eldest son having a birthday sleepover last night (5 rather loud boys!!) so I may hibernate down to my craft room later for some much needed 'quiet time'!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Hugs,
Danielle x

Edited to add:

Thanks for asking about my toe - it is feeling much better thank you!  The swelling has gone done but plenty of bruising has come out - I can at least wear my flip-flops now!!
