Easter Lamb

Hi there,

It's been so cold here the last couple of days that I decided to sequester myself for a bit in my craft room and treat myself to some more crafty time!!

I recently added to my copic collection and have been wanting to play with some of my new colours ... so this Tilda is coloured with the delicious BV tones.  Paper is a mix of BG Kioshi and Wisteria.  I followed the sketch from this weeks challenge at Stamp with Fun.  Butterfly is a MS punch and flowers, ribbon and metal corner embellishment are from my stash.  The banner is also a Magnolia stamp.

I'm entering this card into these challenges too:-

Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Ribbon
Just Magnolia - 'Bingo' (I chose gems, flowers, ribbon/lace)
Stamp Something - 'Spring' somethings
Totally Papercrafts - Cuddly & Cute

OK, that's all for now folks.  I'm slowly catching up on my commenting ... if I haven't reached your blog yet I will be sure to get there very soon!!  Thanks again for your visit today and for any comments you leave ... I really do love to read them all!

Finally ... a bit of crafty time for me!!

Hi there

At last, I found a little crafty time for myself this weekend ... and I'm so desperately wanting to see Spring that I pulled out these gorgeous C.C. Designs stamps from last years Spring release (which are only just seeing ink now, slap wrist)!!!

I incorporated some masking in this card and managed to get the little girl sitting on top of the fence quite nicely!  I chose these lovely spring papers from BG Green at Heart.  The image is coloured with copics and I've followed the sketch (mostly anyways) from this weeks challenge at The Sweet Stop.  I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:-

Totally Gorjuss - 'Spring into Spring'
Stamp with Fun - 'Spring'
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Ribbon, pearl/rhinestones & flowers
Papertake Weekly - It's a Mom Thing (or just be girlie)

Thanks for stopping in and I hope to get a chance to pop by everyones blogs and catch up on some commenting.  I always appreciate your visits and the comments you leave.

Hugs,

Spring Blooms!

Good morning friends!

Firstly, I need to apologise for my lack of blogging presence lately .... these past 2/3 weeks I've been crazy busy purging and cleaning out my house getting ready for the big FOR SALE sign to go up.  So, it's up and now it's the waiting game ... not too much longer I hope as trying to keep a house tidy and presentable to sell with 3 boys is quite the feat!!  My lack of posts and commenting is unfortunately a side-effect to all what's currently going on ... but hopefully not for too much longer!  Please bear with me ...

Anyways, today I have my last 'Stamp Free Friday' project for PaperWorksCo.  I decided to make this sweet flowerpot card using these gorgeous Cosmo Cricket Earth Love papers.  You can find the tutorial over at SCS.  The ribbon, buttons & papers are all available at PWCO

Here's the inside panel of the card ready to be used for whatever occasion is needed.  The next little project that I've done are these sweet flower/rosettes using ribbon.  I punched out a circle and covered it with double stick tape (score tape used here).  I then took a length of ribbon and starting on the outer edge ruffled it up around the circle until it completed the circle.  I then took some hot glue and glued in the button in the middle.

The green one I used polka dot organza ribbon for a slightly different look and then pinned this sweet RAM image button in the middle.

Here are some close ups of the flowers/rosettes.

I hope I can use these sometime on a new project ... actually, one has already been requested by my mother!  It's really fun to start looking closely at your stash to see what embellishments you can start making yourself ... Stamp Free Friday has definitely helped me do that!!  Why don't you challenge yourself too?

Have a great day and weekend and whilst I hope I can be back soon with another posting I hope in the meantime I can do a bit of catch-up on my commenting - I've missed you all!!

PaperWorksCo Blog Hop ....

Hello and welcome to the new release 'A Day in the Life of Abigail C' stamps for PaperWorksCo!  I hope you can join us on this exciting blog hop.  You should have come here by way of Alice but if you  haven't you may want to start back at the beginning here so you don't miss out on any of the fun!

This first image is called 'Bundle Up' and how sweet that Abby has her teddy bear looking after her with what I can only assume is chicken noodle soup in that cup, LOL!!  I've used some lovely bright and cheery papers for this card and a favourite colour combo of mine ... purple & green!  Everything is coloured with copics.

This second image is 'Medic Abby' and she's there ready to help at a moments notice with your ailments!  For this sweet image I decided to make a little project of a 'Get Well Soon' package.  I used an empty travel wipes container and using the same papers and colour combo as my card, I decorated up this little box.  Again, the image is coloured with copics and I used a SU! scallop edger punch on the paper strip around the box and behind the image.  The sentiment is SU!  I used glossy accents on the balloon so it has a lovely shiny look to it.  You'll also notice that I used the 'outside the nesties' technique when I die cut the image using the nesties labels.

Different angle showing the box

Here's a peek at the 'get well' goodies inside the box.  There's a travel pack of kleenex, tube of Tylenol pills, lip balm, tic-tacs and some mint mentos.

I purposely used matching papers and colours so this could be a little co-ordinated gift set.  I had so much fun with this and wouldn't this be such a delight to receive when you're feeling under the weather?

Well, that's all folks!  I hope you enjoyed your stop here and don't forget to leave a comment as Peggy will be randomly picking winners from all the DT blogs on the hop ... she has 6 stamps to give away!!  Your next stop on the hop is the delightfully talented Cabio!

In case you get lost the order of the blog hop is as follows:-

Thanks for coming and enjoy the rest of the hop!

Pretty in Metal

Happy Friday morning!

Firstly, I want to say that my heart goes out to everyone in Japan today ... I am so saddened by the natural disaster happening there and hope and pray not too many more lives are lost.

Today is my Stamp-Free Friday project for PaperWorksCo and I have been inspired by my friend Lorraine to do some work with a used pop can.

Using a stanley knife, slice off the top and bottom of a pop can (very carefully) so that you have a flat panel of aluminum to work with.  Wash and dry it off and you're ready to go.  On this first card I punched the metal with the small and medium retro flower punches, punched a hole in the middle with my crop-a-dile and inserted a brad.  A beautiful metal flower and a perfect embellishment!  And just in case you're wondering ... no, the edges aren't sharp at all!  The papers and ribbon can all be found over at PaperWorksCo.

For this second card I used the Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die cut and then I ran it through an embossing folder.  After that I took copic R24 and airbrushed the flower ... oh, this was so much fun!  I used the heat gun quickly just to set the ink as it was a bit sticky after airbrushing it on the metal.  Again, the papers and brad are all from PaperWorksCo.

These cards are totally different to what I normally do but they were super quick and such a fabulous way to recycle some of those pop cans!  I hope you like what I've shown you today and are inspired to look around your home and see what you can recycle and use on your cards!!

A Fancy 'To Do' for PaperWorksCo!

Happy Friday everyone!

Welcome to my weekly PaperWorksCo posting and for the month of March I have been assigned my duties to 'Stamp Free Fridays'.  How fun ... as much as I love my stamps it's going to be interesting to see what wonderful projects one can do with all the glorious papers and embellishments that are in Peggy's store!

So today I have this quick & easy 'To Do' list project for you.  I saw this over on my blogging buddy Sheena's blog here and thought it was a fabulous idea!  So thank you Sheena for sharing this.

I bought a clipboard frame from Dollarama and chose this cheery Doodlebug paper as my background. I took a page out of a list pad and matted it with some blue cardstock and I did the same with some plain white cardstock.  The bird is from the TH birdcage die cut and the words are from Doodlebug alphabet stickers.  The flowers are all punched using three sizes of the retro flower punch.  The fern is from an EK Success punch.  Everything is adhered in place and then the glass placed back on top.  You can now take a black erasable pen and write your 'to do' lists and then erase when you're done ... and then go again!!

Isn't this so cool!  I love it and it's already been gifted!  A really easy and inexpensive gift to make and one that is definitely useful and pretty at the same time ... just you wait, you make one and you'll have everyone asking you to make them one!!!

Well, thanks for stopping in today and taking a peek.  I love to see that you have visited and I hope you can find the time to leave me a comment.  This week has been a particularly busy one as I have started the de-cluttering process in the house getting it ready to sell.  It sure does feel good to purge ... I haven't reached my craft room yet but maybe when I do I will have some candy to share!!!

Oh, and don't forget .... those of you who are Canadian bloggers be sure to sign up for the fabulous Scrapbox giveaway I'm hosting!!

Thanks again and have a fantastic start to the weekend!

Hugs,
Danielle x
