Making a SPLASH!

Hello!

Welcome to my Sunday 'Anything But a Card' posting for PaperWorksCo!  I found some photos hanging around my craft room which I had had printed ages ago for scrapbooking so I decided it was about time to put together another page layout for Jacob's scrapbook.

These pictures were taken on Jacob's first trip to DisneyWorld back in 2009 when he was 3 1/2.  We were on a splash pad in Toon Town and of course the water kept disappearing and appearing randomly out of the spouts.  He had soooo much fun and I was thrilled that I managed to capture it all on camera.  So here is my page of Jacob at the splash pad.  I pulled out the blue and lime green colours from the photos and inked up the gorgeous Ollie the Octopus from PaperWorksCo 'Aqua Amigos' collection ... too cute!  I coloured with copics using YG11,15,17).  I punched out loads of different sized circles, again to mimic the splash pad design.  I used the Cricut for the title page (Opposites Attract cartridge) and found the cute splash embellishments amongst my scrapbooking goodies.

It was so much fun doing a scrapbook page ... I get so zoned into my cardmaking that I put my scrapbooking too much on the back burner.  I think I need to make myself a crafting commitment to make at least 1 or 2 pages a month .... that or I'll never get the kids' pictures scrapbooked!!

Thanks for stopping in again today.  I hope you can pop over to the PWCO blog and check out what the lovely Tanya has also done for her ABAC posting!  Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!!

Some thank you cards

Good morning peeps!

I had a very quiet week this past week ... hardly touched my craft desk!  I think my mojo has been suffering with seasonal allergies too, LOL!

Anyways, I just wanted to share a couple of CAS male thank you cards that I was recently asked to make.  I enjoyed going back to a basic design without using a coloured image ... sure makes for quick cards!!    The stamped 'Thank You' I found in the $1 bin at Michaels and I pulled out my cuttlebug embossing folders to add lots of texture and interest.  I tried to keep the colours quite masculine. I am going to enter this first card into the CAS challenge over at 'Moving Along with the Times'.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hopefully I'll get some time to blog hop today and do some well-needed catch up on all your blogs and commenting!  I always appreciate your visits and especially the time you take to leave a comment.  Be sure to come back tomorrow for my PaperWorksCo 'Anything But a Card' Sunday posting!  Until then ...

It's a Pool Party!!

Hi there!

So glad you could stop in and visit me today!  I have my 'Anything but a Card' posting for PaperWorksCo and I decided to embrace the hot weather we've been having a put together some fun 'pool party' decor!  I've used some fun summer paper by Cosmo Cricket 'Snorkel' to make these elements with.

Firstly, I made a sweet little favour box using a tutorial here on SCS ... super easy with fantastic results.  Then I made a fun little drink umbrella using a 4" circle cut on the Cricut and some pom-pom ribbon for the trim.  A button and a pom-pom on the top and a skewer stick, finish this off.  To complete the water-themed project I made a little boat from a tutorial I found on youtube and used the same Cosmo Cricket paper to make the sail masts.  As you can see in the picture I filled the boat with chips ... isn't that the perfect way to serve up chips beside the pool!

So that's all for today folks!  I hope my fun little summer project has inspired you to create some poolside projects ... and if you don't have a pool yourself, get making anyways ... 'cos if your neighbour with a pool sees THIS creation you will get a pool invite in no time at all!!  LOL

Have a great Sunday and thanks for leaving a comment ... I really appreciate them when I know everyone is busy enjoying the beautiful sunshine and outdoors!

Christmas Flowers at Winter Wonderland

Hi there!

I am so happy to say that I am back from my 'break' from Winter Wonderland and have re-joined the DT as part of 'Team Kate'!    You can now look forward to some christmas card postings every second week ... and hopefully my stash will start to grow quickly!

So this weeks challenge is 'Christmas Flowers' and I've coloured up this sweet Tilda holding a wreath.  My layout is pretty straight forward.  Sentiment is from LOTV and poinsettia flower is from my stash.

Thanks for stopping in today and hopefully you'll be able to pop over to Winter Wonderland and join in with the challenge this week and start working on your christmas card stash too!!

Achoo ... pass the Kleenex please!

Welcome to my PaperWorksCo postings for the remainder of June ... you will see me on Sundays featuring 'Anything but a Card' challenges.

This past week has been brutal for me with regard to my seasonal allergies so I thought what a fun little project this would make to have sitting on my desk as I constantly pull out the Kleenex ... my nose has seriously given Niagara Falls a run for its money lately!! I found this tutorial in the Christmas Edition of the Magnolia Ink magazine. These beautiful cheery papers are Euphoria from BG and I used the lovely Harriet the Hippo who always puts a smile on my face. I coloured her in blue to match the papers. I used a Viva pearl pen to create the pearl drops around the square border. The MS Doily border punch adds a nice feminine touch too!

A close-up of Harriet for you ... isn't she sweet!!

Well, that's all folks! I hope you're able to pop over to PaperWorksCo blog and check out what Tanya has also done for todays challenge. Thanks for stopping in and leaving a comment too ... they are always so much appreciated.

Right, I'm off down to my craft room ... I've been asked to prepare a Father's Day craft for a class of 21 kids in a Kanata French Elementary school - I'm so excited but I have lots to do! See you soon!

A Birthday Wish ...

Hello!

It's taken me a while to upload this post as Blogger has gone and changed the whole dashboard around ... don't you hate it when they go and change things!  I liked it the way it was ... please bring it back!

Anyways, I was asked to make a birthday card and this image 'Birthday Parade' by Rachelle Anne Miller @ PaperWorksCo was a particular request.  So I pulled this paper and went with the combo of pink/brown as my inspiration.  Aren't the polka dots just so much fun!  I coloured with copics and finished the card off with a fab ribbon and some pink pearls.

Here's a sneek at the inside view of the card.

A close-up of the coloured image ... just love this colour combo!!  I am so honoured as Rachelle Anne Miller, the illustrator of these stamps, has just emailed me to tell me how much she loves this card and wants to post it on her blog!  Wow - pop on over and check out her site!

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges:-

Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Colour Challenge

*As a post-edit note, I couldn't even finish writing this post as the new dashboard layout was driving me crazy and it just wasn't working for me.  SO ... I emailed blogger my comments telling them how much I hated it and guess what ... they changed it back!!!  Yippee!!

Thanks for stopping in folks!  It has been a scorcher of a day here at 42oc with the humidex!  A swim in the neighbours pool has cooled us down and it looks like the thunderstorm is ready to hit any second!  I hope that brings the humidity down for tonight and tomorrow.

Take care and thanks for any comments you may leave.  I plan on blog hopping a bit more tonight and do some catch up!

Heart to Heart ...

Hello!

I have had this gorgeous set stamps from The Greeting Farm for at least a year and can you believe this is the first time this little sweetie has been inked up?  I know .. a big slap on the wrist!!  LOL

My colour inspiration for this card came from this gorgeous new 6x6 pad of papers by MME - Stella & Rose Hattie.  Now, you all know I am NOT a huge fan of yellow but this mellow tone of yellow combined with these gorgeous blues have me totally in love!  There is not one sheet of paper in this pad that I don't love - I can't wait to use it again!

This little Greeting Farm miss is coloured with copics and I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday's challenge this week.  The sentiment is SU! and the flowers, lace and MS punch are all from my stash.

Here's a view of the finished inside of the card

Here's a close up of the coloured image.  I really must pay more attention to the copic colours I use so I can include them in my post!

I will also enter this card into the following challenges:-

Cute Card Thursday - Embellish It!
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Flower Power  -  :(  too late!

Thanks for stopping in!  I really want to get around and blog hop and catch up on commenting but time runs away from me so quickly as I am single-parenting, yet again, and the gorgeous sunshine has me outside enjoying every minute of it!  Thank you for taking the time to leave me a comment ... I really do appreciate every single one as I know how precious time is!

You're a Star!

Hello peeps!

I am thrilled to say I get to enjoy another fabulous term on the PaperWorksCo DT team!  This week is seeing the introductions of new and returning DT members with a debut project of their choice.

I chose to use Zoe the Tennis Player for my debut project ... inspired by my love of tennis and the current French Open.  I love using the bold and bright papers of Echo Park which are so perfect for those summer cards and projects.  The image is coloured with copics and the sentiment is also from PWCO.  I'm dedicating this card to our fabulous boss lady, Peggy, who is not only the best DT boss ever, but who has also become a great friend and is generous in every sense of the word.   You are a STAR Peggy and I'm so blessed and thankful to be part of the PWCO family!

I hope you're able to pop over to the PaperWorksCo blog and give the new DT members a warm and friendly welcome!  Normal service of challenges and projects will resume next week!!

Thanks for stopping in today - I always appreciate your visits and any comments you may leave!  I hope you enjoy a wonderful Sunday!

Hugs,
