Winter Wonderland - Punch it Out!

Hi there!

I hope you are all keeping well and thankful it's Friday and the start of another weekend!  We celebrated Canada Day here yesterday and whilst it was a pretty quiet and uneventful start to the day, it unfortunately ended with quite distressing neighbourhood news.   It seems apparent that kids were letting off firecrackers by a house currently under construction and the next thing it's up in flames and two homes are completely destroyed with a third badly damaged.  Thankfully noone was hurt but the damage is estimated at $1million!  I can't begin to tell you the feelings you get when this happens just down the street from you and your kids witness it too.  I've had a gazillion questions to deal with from my boys to assure them that we and our house are safe.

Anyhow, let's move onto the business of the day which is my DT card for the new Winter Wonderland challenge which begins today and for which I'm host.  I chose to Punch it Out!  So let's see you pull out your punches and die cuts and create something christmassy!

I decided to go with a white card - I've seen so many around blogland lately and have admired them greatly.  So I thought I would give it a try and really love the result.  I used my cricut to die cut the trees and the reindeer and an MS pine needle border punch along the bottom.  I wanted to emboss the trees with different designs to make them stand out from eachother.  As much as I tried to go with all white I had to add a pop of colour somewhere so decided to add the punched word JOY in red cardstock.  Do you like it?   A sheer white organza ribbon adds a final touch.

I sure hope you're able to join in our challenge this week which is sponsored by the generous Nikki from Bunny-Zoe Crafts where there's a fabulous prize up for grabs.  The DT have some marvellous inspiration for everyone too!

Thanks for stopping by today - your visit is very much appreciated as is every comment that you leave!  I hope you all enjoy a wonderful day and whatever you're doing and wherever you are - please stay safe!

Hugs,
Danielle x

What a lovely card Danielle - and the red is a perfect touch. So sorry to hear the news of the fire in your neighbourhood. We heard firetrucks late yesterday afternoon - I'm guessing they were responding to this fire!

Sorry to hear about the fire. This might be a good time to have a fire drill and teach your children how to get out of the house safely and where to meet afterwards.
Love your card, it's beautiful.
Hugs
