PaperWorksCo .. a photo to inspire you

Hello again!

This is my second posting for the day ... please scroll down if you wish to see my Winter Wonderland card too!

Today's Recipe Challenge over at PaperWorksCo is a Photo Inspiration ... isn't it such a  fun and summery picture!  This is a beautiful combo of colours ... I think I'm getting affected by the sun as there is an unusual amount of yellow being used in my creations of late! LOL  :)

Well, here is my card ... you can see I was inspired by the colours as well as the floral aspect of the photo.  I used the sweet Abigail C. for my card - you can find the stamp here in the PWCO shop.  She's actually called 'Get Well Abby' but you can see how versatile the stamp is as I've used it for a birthday card.  She is coloured with copics.  The paper is a pretty Doodlebug sheet from my stash.  The pearls and swirls are also from stash.

Thanks for stopping in again today ... your visits really are very much appreciated!  I hope you're able to pop over to the PWCO blog and join in with the challenge ... remember Peggy always has wonderful prizes to give away for those particpating in our challenges!

Winter Wonderland - An Angel/Fairy for Christmas

Hello friends!

Thanks for stopping in today to see my Winter Wonderland DT card.  This week we have the theme 'Angel or Fairy' on your Christmas card.  There are so many gorgeous images out there that you can use for this theme.

I used this adorable LOTV image and have coloured it up with copics.  Now I have used non-traditional colours and papers on this card but I think it works beautifully!  I love the blue/gold combo - very regal!  The sentiment is also from LOTV and is part of their Christmas Circular sentiments set .. love all of these and such great value for money!

The papers are Stella & Rose 'Hattie' Collection.  Not normally a colour combo I use but I have to say I'm loving these tones of yellow and with the pretty blue they work so well together.  The punch is a EK Success 'Parisian' (I think).  The ribbon, twine and pearls are from my stash.

I hope you like my card and are able to leave a comment.  Don't forget to pop on over to Winter Wonderland and check out all the other gorgeous DT creations and join in with the fun ... there's always a fabulous prize up for grabs!

As this post goes live I will be getting on a jet plane with my family and heading out to Alberta for a 2+ week vacation to see the gorgeous Rockies - absolutely can't wait!

Please come back later for my second posting which will be my PaperWorksCo DT card ... another fun Friday Recipe Challenge card.

Congratulations ... Hip, Hip Hooray!!

Hi there!

I wanted to share a card with you that I was asked to make for an upcoming wedding.  I've used the gorgeous new Rachelle Anne Miller images from PaperWorksCo which have just been released.  In fact, I had the priviledge of making this card for Rachelle Anne Miller's mom!

I've followed the sketch this week from Papertake Weekly Challenge.  It fit perfectly with my image and layout idea!  The pretty peach papers are from Graphic 45.  I coloured the image with copics and the outside sentiment is from SU!  I've just noticed that one of the pearls has popped off ... oops!  There are meant to be 3 there!  I used a doily and some lace to add the delicate detail to the card.

Here is the finished card on the inside.  This sentiment is the one that accompanies the stamp!

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:-

Allsorts Challenge - 'Free 'n Easy'
Totally Gorjuss - 'Punch or Die'
Copic Creations - 'Pastel Colours'
Moving Along with the Times - 'Brand Spanking New'

That's all folks!  I will be back with a scheduled post for Friday ... my Winter Wonderland card and also my PaperWorksCo 'Friday Recipe Challenge' card.  We head out on our vacation early Friday morning ... we're going to Alberta and home of the beautiful Rockies ... can't wait to see those gorgeous mountains!

Thanks for stopping in at my blog ... it's always a pleasure to see you here and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment!

PWCO Blog Hop ... Ready to get Hitched??

Welcome to the PaperWorksCo blog hop featuring the fabulous new Rachelle Anne Miller release of stamps .. and if you guessed WEDDING as the upcoming theme ... you are correct!  You should have come by way of the uber talented Corinne but if not, you will want to start back at beginning at the PaperWorksCo blog here.

I get to feature the beautiful 'First Kiss' stamp ... and I decided to make a Wedding Day Guestbook! This was such a fun project to do and very easy with the Bind it All machine.  The image is coloured with copics and I embossed the gold nestabilities hearts to add detail and texture.  Papers are from LYB (Little Yellow Bicycle) and the paper doilies from Michaels.  The back of the Guestbook uses another stamp from the release 'Driving to a New Beginning' and doesn't it just go perfectly on the back of the book!

This project also uses my own wedding colours ... Burgundy, White & Gold ... and, new to this release, we have decided to issue a COLOUR CHALLENGE to all the participants!

You will have 48 hours to participate in as many of the colour challenges hosted in this blog hop (one entry per colour challenge) and you will be in with a chance to win the ENTIRE new release PLUS the July Papercardkit ... WOW!!  If you complete all the colour challenges you will be entered in 9 times to win this amazing prize package!

And here is my second project using the adorable 'Happiness is a Piece of Cake' image!  These stamps are just a dream to colour.  This card was inspired by a similar one I saw in the Magnolia Ink magazine.    The image is coloured with copics and the papers, lace, pearls & flowers are all from my stash.  The sentiments are included with the stamps.

And in case you get lost, here is the order of the blog hop:-

Danielle ----->  You are Here!

Phew ... thanks for staying with me through the long post - I sure hope it was worth it!!  So remember ... my colour challenge is BURGUNDY, WHITE & GOLD!  Great to see you here and don't forget to leave some love on each of the DT's blogs!  As always, Peggy will have some great deals this weekend for the new stamp release so be sure to check out the PaperWorksCo store here and get shopping!

If you've never checked out the artist and illustrator Rachelle Anne Miller's site you should go and give yourself a treat ... her work is stunning!

PaperWorksCo - Recipe Challenge Card

Hello there!

Welcome to my Friday Recipe Challenge card for PaperWorksCo.  Today's challenge is to use 'Triangles, Texture and 3 papers.  I pulled out my super fun Zac the Golfer stamp and used my fabulous new pennant dies from Whimsy Stamps.

I used the gorgeous Echo Park papers 'Summertime Fun' ... must make a mental note to replenish my stash as it is getting very low and I just love these papers!  I paper pieced all of Zac's clothing and embossed his golf shirt with the cuttlebug argyle folder.  The rest of the image is coloured with copics.  I threaded some linen twine through the holes in the pennants so they could hang nicely on the card.

I really love how this turned out and am so happy to have some boy/male cards in my stash!  These images are so perfect for the guys in your life ... you should check out all the super duper sport images that Peggy carries here.

I'm also going to enter this card into the following challenges:-

Cute Card Thursday - 'For His Eyes Only'
Totally Papercrafts - 'One for the Boys'
Stamp Something - 'Something Embellished'
Totally Gorjuss - 'Punch or Die'
Charisma Cardz - 'Sunshine Colours'
Well, that's all for today folks!  It has been unbearably hot here the last few days ... we experienced 47oc with humidex yesterday!!  Today is a little better but the best place is still inside air conditioning!!  Hope you're all staying cool wherever you are.

Thanks for stopping in and don't forget to stop by tomorrow to blog hop with us for the new Rachelle Anne Miller release .... you will be falling in LOVE for sure!!!  Until then ...

PaperWorksCo - Recipe Challenge - 'Wild for You'

Hi again!

This is my second posting for today ... if you want to see my Winter Wonderland card, please scroll down.

The Recipe Challenge over at PaperWorksCo this week is a Photo Inspiration ... go to the blog here to check out the deets and join in if you can.  This is my take on the photo and it was sooo much fun to do.  This card is a step away from what I would normally do and I love that these challenges can take you out of your comfort zone if you allow them to.

Zoie the Zebra is coloured with copics (R81,83,85 & Colourless Blender) and I used nesties labels (?) for the main image & matt.  The animal print stamp is by HSH Stamps which I just stamped repeatedly to create the background.  Ribbon, sentiment and bling are from my stash.

I hope this card makes you smile today .. after all, it is Friday too so we should all be smiling, right?!!

I'm off for a pedicure - catch you all later!

Hugs,

Winter Wonderland Challenge - 'Give a Little Lift'

Hello everyone!

Welcome to another posting for the Winter Wonderland 'Team Kate' challenge!  This weeks challenge, set by the lovely Kate, is to 'Give a Little Lift' ... to use some embossing on our cards.  This can be either type of embossing - you choose!

So I decided to use one of my favourite PaperWorksCo Christmas images by Rachelle Anne Miller 'A Magical Christmas' - isn't she just a darling.  I coloured with copics and the papers are October Afternoon.  The red panel down the side is embossed with a Sizzix snowflakes folder and I adhered this gorgeous pearly snowflake onto the red ribbon & bow.

I hope you're able to pop on over to the Winter Wonderland blog and join in with this weeks fun challenge.  There are always fabulous prizes up for grabs too!

I will have my PaperWorksCo DT card coming up a little later so be sure to pop back for that!  Until then ... have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful start to the weekend!

Summertime swing ...

Hello friends!

It's another Recipe Challenge over at PaperWorksCo today and part of the recipe is to use a 'summertime' image.  And who doesn't like to swing at the park with their friends during the summer!

This gorgeous image is from RAM.  I tried something a little different with my colouring ... I used my copic Toner Greys to colour the majority of the image and then injected some colour for the teddy bear and bird - how do you like it?  I like the effect it gives.

The rest of the card is pretty simple.  I used this fabulous dotty kraft paper from Jilli Bean Soup and embossed the small retro flower with a polka dot folder.  The ribbon, button and gem are from my own stash.

I hope you can head over to the blog and check out my fellow DT Janet's recipe card for today too!  And don't forget, these are challenges that you can join in with too and get entered to win some free PWCO stamps!

Right, we're off strawberry picking!  Mmmmm .... can't wait to eat some local fresh-picked strawberries!  Have a great day everyone!

A special PaperWorksCo Posting ... Sketch #88

Hi there!

Wow - this is a flying visit and I'm sorry this card is up late today ... again (oops)!!  Geez, with the kids home from school and the weather so gorgeous outside my craft desk is not seeing much action at all at the moment!  Hubby has now gone back to Edmonton so maybe this evening I'll get a little crafty time to myself!

The PWCO DT are all participating in this weeks Sketch #88 in anticipation of a new RAM stamp release coming up July 23rd.  We're all extremely excited and for the occasion Peggy has offered this gorgeous free digi frame to PWCO fans!  Why don't you head on over to the blog and check out the deets for downloading the freebie and then participate in the PWCO challenges for the month of July and see what wonderful goodies could be yours!  You will also notice a little bit of a theme running through all of the DT cards .... I wonder if you can guess what the new RAM stamp release theme will be??

Well, thanks for stopping in and I think most of my computer issues have now been resolved.  The setup is not perfect but it will be a good temporary fix for the time being.

Have a wonderful Wednesday evening and will see you back here on Friday with my PWCO 'Recipe Friday' challenge card!  Until then ....

Double posting ... Winter Wonderland & PaperWorksCo!

Hi there!

I would like to wish all my fellow Canadians a very Happy Canada Day today!

Sorry these cards are late today but I've had major computer issues in the last 48 hrs and unfortunately my desktop has died.  Thankfully my husband came home this morning and he has hooked up my notebook to the keyboard and monitor for the time being.

So .... firstly I have  my Winter Wonderland card which follows a 'buffet' style recipe challenge today!  I chose this sweet LOTV image which is coloured with copics.  Papers are from a gorgeous lush christmas stack (DCWV I believe).  The sentiment is from Sentiments 4 You.

I am scheduled in for Recipe Fridays with PaperWorksCo for the month of July.  Today's recipe is 'O' ... Orange, Octagon & any 'other' embellishment.  I used the sweet Mikey the Monkey and went with a funky orange/pink colour combo.  I totally went out of the box with this one and coloured the monkey hot pink!  Paper is from Echo Park 'Sweet Summertime' and the sentiment is from the Jungle Jesters sentiment bundle.  The vines are a die cut.  I stitched around the edges to add some detail and my 'other' embellishment is the orange button & twine!  I hope you like it and that it inspires you to join our challenge this week or to try something different and 'out of the box' yourself!

Thanks for stopping in today.  I won't be around blog land too much in the next few days as my husband is back from Edmonton for 5 days so we'll be enjoying some well-needed family time!  I hope you all enjoy a wonderful weekend though!

Hugs,
Danielle x
