A Valentine Heart for You ...

Hi there!

I hope blogger plays nicely and posts this as I should be half-way to Florida by the time this is scheduled!

It's my last December post for PWCO using the gorgeous Papercardkit.  I know, I know ... we're just finished with Christmas and I'm already moving onto the next 'holiday' of valentines but I wanted to show you just how versatile these fabulous Echo Park papers are.  The reverse side of this is very christmassy yet this beautiful green design allows for any interpretation.  So I thought I'd pull out this sweet Charlotte image from Little Loud Stamps which I've coloured up with my copics.  I used a favourite colour combo of mine of green & pink to show off the pretty paper.  All the paper used is from the Papercardkit and I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the dotty background.  I tied the bow on the bow-easy and used the MS Heart border punch.

The card is made using the 'Spring' style and the tutorial can be found under the resource section over at Splitcoaststampers.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope I can catch up with you all on my return!

There won't be any Winter Wonderland challenges this Friday but be sure to stop by the blog as there is some exciting news which will be announced!

Hugs,

Thank You .... from Winter Wonderland

Hi there!

Hope you are all well and getting excited ... I know my boys are desperately awaiting the arrival of Santa!!

Today I have my Winter Wonderland DT card for our final challenge of 2010!  Wow - hasn't this year just flown by!  The lovely Kate is hosting and the challenge is 'Thank You' ... your chance to get some thank you cards ready to hand out after Christmas!

It was so nice to make something besides a christmas card!  This gorgeous Tilda is coloured with copics and the paper is Cappella from Basic Grey.  Flowers are Prima and the circle sentiment is SU!  I followed the Sunday Sketch from PWCO.

The challenge is being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp this week so if you're able to find the time to squeeze in a bit of crafting it would be great to see your submission over at the challenge blog.  The rest of the DT have done some lovely cards too so be sure to pop over and get some inspiration!  This challenge will run until January 6th so we can all enjoy a break of the Christmas & New Year period.  The challenge will have some exciting news to share on December 31st so be sure to pop by and 'read all about it'!!! LOL

Thanks for stopping in today - I always appreciate your visit and any comments you may leave.  Have yourself a wonderful Christmas Eve!

A Pocketful of Tags!

Hello!

Welcome to another PaperWorksCo posting where I'm still showcasing the gorgeous Echo Park Papercardkit!  Time is tight with Christmas literally on the final countdown so this will be a quick post.

When I was browsing Curt's blog I also saw him create this wonderful pocket of tags - I just loved it and thought it was perfect to show off all the gorgeous EP papers!  So thank you Curt for yet again inspiring me!!!

Everything you see in here is from the Papercardkit.  I've used the Cricut to cut the tree out, MS punch for the snowflake, Marianne die cut for the poinsettia and a SU! circle sentiment.

I thought this would make a sweet token teacher gift ... something they can use rather than eat!!!  LOL

Well, that's all from me today.  I hope you're able to pop over to PWCO - yesterday was Recipe Tuesdays and everyone is welcome to join in and you could also be in with a chance to win a surprise something from Peggy!

Thanks for stopping in and every comment left is really appreciated, especially at this time of year when everything is so hectic!

Winter Wonderland - Wrap it Up!

Hello!

Thanks for stopping in today ... I have my DT projects for Winter Wonderland where I am hosting the challenge this week!  We're almost there with officially only 8 days left so what better time than to create some beautiful gift wrap or gift boxes for your gifts!  That's right ... today's challenge is 'Wrap it Up'!

I found this gorgeous handmade paper bow over on SCS here.  I just loved how easy this was to put together and the final effect is fabulous!  Talk about being able to co-ordinate all your gift wrap!  I made this cute little tag to match and the reindeer is done on the Cricut 'Create a Critter' cartridge.  I even found a sweet little red bell in my stash ... isn't he cute!!!  The snowflake is a large MS punch.

Here's a close-up of the bow which I put together using the gorgeous double-sided Bo Bunny papers.  These are still an absolute favourite of mine!

Well, that's all for today folks!  I hope you're able to pop on over to the Winter Wonderland blog and join in our challenge this week!  The rest of the DT have done some gorgeous gift wrap ideas too so don't miss out on some amazing inspiration!  We are also sponsored this week by Delicious Doodles so there's a fabulous prize up for grabs too.

It's the last day of school for the boys today so must finish up the last few things I need to do!  Thanks for stopping by, I really do appreciate the time you take to visit and leave me a comment!  Have a safe and wonderful day!

Snowflake Splendor!

Hello!

I have a PaperWorksCo DT card for you to today!  I was lucky enough to receive the November Papercardkit which included the gorgeous Echo Park christmas papers ... yummy!!

As December is always a very rushed month, Peggy didn't put a papercardkit together but instead has kept the November going until the end of the year. How lucky as these papers are just stunning!  This card design is based on the one I did a couple of posts back.  I love the simplicity of the lines and these non-traditional christmas colours and lime green & hot pink!!

The snowflake is a Marianne diecut with some Echo Park paper placed behind the cut out.  I covered the snowflake with Diamond Dust which makes it sparkle beautifully!  I sewed around the edges to add in some extra texture and the back panel is embossed with a snowflake folder.  The sentiment is one that comes with the RAM 'Magical Christmas' stamp.

Thanks for stopping by again ... I really do appreciate you calling in!  Hopefully you'll be able to pop over to PaperWorksCo and check out the Papercardkits - they are such fantastic value for $11.99!

Take care and I wish you all a wonderful day!

Holiday Hello!

Hello!

So glad you could find the time to stop by my blog and pay me a visit ... I love having you here!

Well, today I've made a card for the Lily of the Valley challenge blog for the very first time - yay!  I just adore these cute LOTV bears and wanted to do a few more christmas cards!  The challenge at LOTV is to follow Dena's gorgeous sketch.  I coloured with copics.  Papers are from Magnolia (last years christmas) and the sentiment is SU!   I used an MS punch and some Prima poinsettia flowers with gold adhesive pearls for their centers.  Some gold ribbon and gold cardstock behind the image finish the card off.

Thank you so much for stopping by .... I'll be back tomorrow with my posting for the PaperWorksCo DT.  I'll be showcasing the gorgeous November papercardkit!

I hope you're staying safe and warm wherever you are ... it's been a cold snowy one here today so am quite happy to be tucked up in my craft room, LOL!!

Winter Wonderland - Christmas Baubles!

Hi there!

Welcome to my Friday posting for the Winter Wonderland challenge blog.  Today the lovely Janet is hosting our challenge and is asking for 'Christmas Baubles' on your cards.  How fun is that ... I love lots of those images to play around with and this is what I managed to create.

I found this Santa Tilda already coloured up with my prisma pencils in my stash and the colours were a perfect match to the BG Eskimo Kisses paper I had chosen to work with ... don't you love it when a plan just falls into place so easily!!    The bauble image is from The Stamp Barn and cut using a nesties circle.   The sentiment is from Penny Black and I've added some bling and lots of stickles to the baubles to make the card sparkle!

I hope you're able to pop over to Winter Wonderland and join in our challenge.  This weeks prize is being sponsored by 'I Did it Creations'.  The rest of the DT have come up with some gorgeous inspiration so be sure to check out their cards!

I'm entering this card over at the Just Magnolia challenge where this week they're asking for a Christmas card!

Again, thanks for your visit today and your lovely comments ... I know how rushed everyone is at this time of year so I really do appreciate you taking the extra time to leave me a comment!  I wish you all a wonderful Friday and start to a fabulous weekend!  I'm single-parenting it again for a couple of days as hubby is out on the western side of Canada in the beautiful city of Edmonton - too bad I couldn't join him!!

A simple card ...

Hi again!

I'm on a roll with the simple cards at the moment!  I was inspired to make this card when I visited Curt's blog this morning and saw what he did - thanks Curt for sharing such wonderful inspiration!

It's pretty basic and it came together quite quickly - gotta love that!  The large snowflake is punched out using a MS punch.  The back panel is embossed with a snowflake folder and the dp behind the snowflake is Daisy D's.  A small piece of linen twine for the bow adds a final touch.  The sentiment is from stash.

Thanks for stopping in again .... I appreciate your visit and your comments so much!  Must get on and make some more of these!

Take care and stay warm - unless you're in California as they're heading into a heatwave ... lucky them!!

Friends are like snowflakes ....

Hi there!

I'm putting together some simple christmas cards and thought I'd share with you what I've done.  I love this sentiment and have been wanting to use it with my snowflake stamp.

I stamped the snowflakes and then embossed them with stardust glitter to give some sparkle.  The back panel is snowflake embossed with a Sizzix folder and I used an MS border punch for the inside panel.  It's a very easy and straightforward card but I like the finished result.

I'm going to enter this card into the Stamptacular Sunday challenge which is 'Blue...Blue Christmas' this week.  Also, a Spoonfull of Sugar challenge is asking for Christmas cards.

This is a quick post as I have some free time and I want to continue creating whilst I can.  It's snowing outside and I'm more than happy to stay warm in my craft room!  I hope you all enjoy a wonderful day!

Winter Wonderland - Penguins & Polar Bears!

Hello!

It's Friday again ... geez, these weeks sure are flying by fast aren't they!!  And here we are on the very last few challenges of 2010 for Winter Wonderland.  Marianne is our lovely host this week and we have the theme 'Penguins & Polar Bears'.  How can you not make a cute card with either/both of these adorable winter animals!

These polar bear images are from Sunshine Designs by The Stamp Barn and come in a set of 4.  There is a bit of technique to making this card as I stamped the images on both the front of the card and inside, cut out a square around their face and then the inside image shows through.  I used Tombow markers to add some subtle watercolour.  The background paper is Echo Park - isn't it gorgeous!!  Some turquoise ribbon and a MS punched snowflake finish the card off.

I hope you're able to pop on over to the Winter Wonderland blog and join in our challenge this week.  We are sponsored by The Hobby House and Stamping with the Dragon.

I'm off to see if I can catch up on some blog hopping and commenting ... I seem to keep saying this and yet I don't ever find the time to catch up to my tail .... I'm continually chasing it!!  Must be the time of year, LOL!!

Thanks for stopping by and for the comments you leave - they really are truly appreciated!

Winter Wonderland - Shape Up!

Good Friday morning!

Firstly - a very Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends out there - I hope the spirit of gratitude and thankfulness fills your hearts & homes!

I am hosting this weeks challenge over at Winter Wonderland and I have chosen the theme 'Shape Up' - to create a shaped card (anything but square/rectangle).  It's so easy to stick with the square/rectangle cards yet there are so many wonderful opportunities out there to create with different shapes.  I hope you're able to join us and show your creativity!

I have created this Christmas Tree shaped card - I've had this  template in my folder for years now and honestly cannot remember from whence it came!  But I love the shape it creates and I decided to decorate this one up like a tree with branches and ornaments.  I ran the cardstock through a snowflake embossing folder too to add some extra detail.  The snowflake is a Marianne die (a purchase from my recent trip to the UK) and the ornaments are part of a stamp set from CTMH (Close to my Heart).  I punched the MS branch punch on some glittered paper for lots of sparkle.  I'm also going to add this to the Totally Papercrafts challenge this week which is 'Untraditional Christmas' (no red or green).

The challenge is sponsored this week by Simon Says Stamp so get creating and submit your project so you're in with a chance to win a $15 gift certificate!

I have the kids home from school today on a snow day so we've voted in a pjama day (yay!!).  I plan on relaxing and hopefully doing some blog commenting and catch up.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking the time to visit to leave a comment.  It is very much appreciated as always!

Winter Wonderland - A Christmas Ornament

Hi there!

Welcome to a rather belated Winter Wonderland posting .... apologies for this being late but having been in the UK until yesterday I hadn't realised Mr Blogger didn't play nicely!  :(

Anyways, this weeks challenge over at Winter Wonderland is to create 'a decoration' for christmas - for the tree, for the table etc.  What a fabulous opportunity to get making something really special to add to your christmas decor!

I made a little tree ornament using this tutorial over on SCS - easy peasy, quick and beautifully effective I think!  This is a really fabulous way to use up your scraps and display all those gorgeous double-sided christmas papers that are in your stash!!

Don't forget to check out the rest of the challenge blog and see what all the other DT girls have made!  We are sponsored this week by Delicious Doodles too!

This will be a quick post.  I've had a fabulous time away in the UK and I have a lot of catching up to do ... both in the home and on the blog!!  :)
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to get a chance to blog hop and see you all very soon!

Winter Wonderland - Winter Sports!

Hi there!

I'm hoping Mr Blogger plays nicely for me and posts this  up as I should be landing in London, Heathrow for my week of 40th Birthday celebrations in Jersey!!!

I will keep this short and sweet.  Kate is hosting this weeks challenge over at Winter Wonderland and has the theme 'Winter Sports' for us all to play along to.  These will make perfect cards for those active sporty types in our families!  I used this cute CC Designs image and coloured with my copics.  I decided on an easel card and went with the masculine colour tones of blue and beige.  Lots of MS punching on this card and the sentiment is from my stash.

This week we're being sponsored by The Stamp Barn so check out Winter Wonderland and see what their fabulous prize is!  The other DT girls have once again done some amazing work which is sure to inspire you to create!

I'm afraid I have no further postings for the time I'm away but will be eager to catch up with everyone and all your blogs on my return (Nov.21st).

Thanks so much for stopping by and as always, truly appreciate the time you take to leave such beautiful comments!

I have my Winter Wonderland post scheduled for tomorrow so hopefully Mr Blogger will play nicely for me!  I unfortunately haven't had a lot of time to craft and schedule posts for the time I'm away but I will definitely share some pics of my time away when I return.  And I hope my schedule will start to allow me to blog a little more regularly and catch up on some sorely missed commenting!

Take care everyone and see you in 10 days or so!!

Happy 3rd Birthday to PWCO ..... we're celebrating!!

Welcome to the PWCO 3rd Birthday bash!  Peggy is celebrating her 3rd year with PaperWorksCo and so all the DT plus alumni are helping her out with 2 weeks of fabulous fun and games!

We were asked to choose our favourite PWCO image and even though this is from the new RAM Winter release, I am so partial to snowmen.  This HAS to be my all-time favourite image in the PWCO collection.  I love that I can colour these snowmen up anyway to mix and match my projects.  I decided to make a sweet box that can be filled with christmas goodies.  Paper is the ever-so-gorgeous Echo Park and the image is coloured with copic markers.

So to help you understand how to play the game, this is what Peggy has posted on the PWCO blog:-

Winter Wonderland - Sing a Christmas Carol!

Hi there!

Apologies for my very quiet week - it's a busy fun time here!  I celebrated my 40th birthday on Tuesday and spent a lovely day with my mom and family.  I got very spoiled and received a wonderful gift of a computer notebook for my craft room - yay!  I can now browse all the challenges online in my craft room which I'm so thrilled about!  However, I now seem to have come crashing down with the sniffles and aches & pains!  :(

Anyhow, onto todays card which is for the Winter Wonderland challenge, hosted this week by the lovely and talented Marianne.  She has set 'Sing a Christmas Carol' as the theme this week.  I was very excited as I was able to pull out this gorgeous new Winter release RAM image from PaperWorksCo - aren't they just beautiful angels!

I decided to colour these beauties with my prismas - I've added a few new colours to my collection and was eager to try them out!  I coloured their faces with copics.  The paper is from a candy win from Lynsey and are fun bright greens and pinks!  I decided to make a very pink card for this one!  The sentiment is an old PSX one but works perfectly with this image.  Snowflakes are the MS punch with rhinestones placed in the centre.

This weeks challenge is sponsored by Pink Gem Designs so be sure to stop by and join in the fun!  These days to Christmas sure are counting down by fast!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.   I hope to use the weekend to relax and recover some energy as I head to the UK next week to celebrate my big 4-0 with family and friends on my home island of Jersey.  I appreciate all of your comments and thank you so much for taking the time to come by and leave them!

Winter Wonderland - Have a Mousey Christmas!

Good Friday Morning all!

Wow - another week ending and the end of October to boot!  It's challenge day at Winter Wonderland again and the lovely Lynsey is hosting this week with the theme 'A Mousey Christmas'.  There are so many cute critters out there to play with for this theme so why don't you join us and add another Christmas card to your growing pile.  Remember, there is also a fab prize from Whimsy Stamps up for grabs this week too!

I have made this sweet 'Wiper' card with these lovely Penny Black mice hanging in their stockings ... aren't they so darn cute!  On my card they're fine .... I just hope I would never find them for real in my stocking!!!  LOL  I have coloured the image with Distress Inks and added some sparkly highlights with my Sakura gel pen (hard to see in the pic).

Paper is from my stash and I used the MS Pine Needles border punch.  I stayed with very traditional Christmas colours on this card!  The 'wiper' comes into play when you pull the card to the side .... the wiper pops up with the message!  It's super easy to make and makes for a fun and different card!

I hope you can pop over to the challenge blog and check out the rest of the DT's mousey creations - they really are super cute!  Thanks for popping by - I hope the mice didn't scare you away, eeek!  I hope you all enjoy a wonderful Friday and have fun getting ready for Halloween!  I'm driving my middle son, Joel, off to Cub Camp tonight for the weekend .... I hope it doesn't get too cold!!!  brrrr

Tissue Box Cover

Hello!

I have my last posting for my 'Free for All' days at PaperWorksCo for the month of October.  This Tissue Box Cover has recently been up at SCS and I decided to give the tutorial a go.  This was SO much fun and absolutely dead easy!

I used this gorgeous RAM image from the Winter release - 'Flaky Friends' and coloured it up with my copics!  Each of the four panels is embossed with the cuttlebug snowflake folder and sponged over with Pine Needles distress ink.  I used the MS Icicle border punch around the lid to add some extra detail.  The paper is from Cosmo Cricket 'Jolly by Golly' collection available at PaperWorksCo.  I added a button and twine for a finishing touch next to the main image.  The sentiment comes together with the image when purchased .... you should check out the rest of RAM's Winter release stamps here.

I punched some MS snowflakes out and added adhesive pearls to the lid.  I used a nesties label 4 to cut out the aperture for the tissues.

I can't wait to have this out with my christmas decorations in the house!  Isn't it a wonderful way to fancy up a dull, boring box of tissues .... and goodness knows we need tissues at this time of year!!  I think I can see myself making quite a few of these as little gifts .... just imagine all the seasonal opportunities you could make with this box!

Thanks for stopping in again, it really is so great to see you here!  I feel like I'm finally slowing down a little and managing to get caught up.  I am doing lots of DT work behind the scenes though as I leave for  the  UK on November 11th .... I'm going home to celebrate my 40th birthday!

I hope you all enjoy a wonderful day .... it's blowing a hoolie here so don't plan on going very far!

A Hanglar card!

Good morning friends!

I hope you are all well on this Monday morning.  I had a quiet relaxing weekend and got to craft lots with my mom!  The dreary weather is definitely setting in now and there's nothing better than sitting and crafting to your hearts content while it rains outside!

My dear brother gave me two Hanglar stamps for my upcoming birthday and this is one of them!  I'm so excited to actually own some of this rubber!  I coloured the image up with my copics and die cut it out using a Nellie Snellen die.  I've followed this weeks sketch over at Friday Sketchers.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts with some added stickles and I used a fab TH ticket.  I also used a new EK Success fern punch which I found at Heather's Stamping the other day.  The pearl pin is from my stash and so is my dp.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'm having another relaxing day today and hope to get some more crafting done!  I might actually get some time to blog hop and catch up on some commenting too!  I appreciate you visiting and can't thank you enough for all the beautiful comments you leave!  Hope you all enjoy a safe and lovely day!

Winter Wonderland - A Recipe to Follow...

Good morning friends!

I'm back with my card for todays Winter Wonderland challenge which is hosted by the lovely Kate.  She has challenged us to follow a recipe this week - 2 papers, 1 ribbon, 1 snowflake and a charm.

I've been wanting to colour up these gorgeous LOTV James Bear images (very kindly stamped for me by Christine - thanks sweetie!).  Believe it or not I actually put down my copics for this project and picked up my Prismas!  I just love the soft finish it gives the image.  My papers are from Cosmo Cricket and I used the sketch layout this week from Papertake Weekly so I'll be entering my card in there.  Snowflake is punched using the MS punch with a gorgeous pearlised snowflake to adorn the top.  The charm is from stash (Bunny-Zoe's if I recall) and I stickled the snowflakes.

Great to see you here again .... thank you for your continued visits and support, it is truly appreciated!  I hope you're able to pop over to Winter Wonderland and join in the challenge fun - we have a wonderful prize up for grabs from Simon says Stamp!

Leafing Around .....

Hi there!

I hope you're all keeping well and I'm so happy to see you here - thanks for stopping by for a visit!

It's my 'Free for All' posting again today for PaperWorksCo and I was determined to find my scrapbooking mojo for todays project.  We've had such gorgeous Fall weather that I've had lots of photo opportunities with my littlest dude, Jacob, out and about on the trails, in the leaves and feeding the chickadees.  So I knew I wanted to use this gorgeous Fall RAM image 'Autumn Leaves'.  Doesn't it look perfect on this layout!

I coloured the image with my copics and die cut it using my nesties.  The birdie border is from the Cosmo Cricket Earth Love range.  I cut the title out using the Alphalicious cartridge on my cricut and the leaves are from my stash.

I will be back again tomorrow with my scheduled DT card for Winter Wonderland.  My mom and I had a fabulous cardmaking day last Sunday at Sheena's house using Close to my Heart products (wow - are they ever fabulous!!).  I have yet to show you the dozen christmas cards we made!  Yep, my christmas card pile is looking quite voluminous!  :)

I feel awful that I just haven't had time to blog hop too much again this week but I will try and find some time in the next few days.  I have some girls coming over tonight for a skin care party and tomorrow I'm off out to an Oktoberfest night and hubby flies out to Germany for a week .... phew, I'm exhausted just listing off what I'm doing!!!  Thank goodness my mom is still around!!  :)

Take care all and a million thanks for the beautiful comments you leave!

New winter images from PWCO ...

Hi there!

Friday night saw the winter release of the new RAM images from PaperWorksCo ... and what a fabulous release it was!  Wow - the DT sure did some amazing work with all the new gorgeous images.

So, here is my first one 'SEASON OF JOY' - look at all that amazing detail!  It certainly took a while to colour in but soooo worth it!  Coloured with copics and then some flower soft added to the mantel for extra detail.

This next image 'A LITTLE HAUL OF CHEER' is so super cute.  What I love about this is that the child can be coloured to be either a boy or a girl - isn't that great!  Again, this image was coloured with copics and glamour dust was added for lots of sparkle.  The card design is a 'Peek-a-Boo' style which I made following this tutorial.  It's really quite easy and very effective .... when you open the card another image slides over in the punched circle cut-out - so cute!

Peggy has a fabulous price on all these stamps right now and of course a special deal on the 'Want it All' package!  So head on over to PaperWorksCo and go check out those deals .... your Christmas cards will love you for it!! LOL

We had a super fun day out yesterday at La Fleche in Quebec.  We discovered the cave although I had to leave as my father was struggling with the terrain and my 5yr old was a little scared. Ah well, will have to try it again another day ... but I did see some bats which were super cool!  And then we did the Kids Adventure Park which was a blast.  Here's a little family snap although Jacob is not wish us as he was too small to participate.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'm off on an all-day cardmaking session with my mom.  We are signed up to make a dozen Christmas cards!  Should be lots of fun!  I'll try and do some blog catch-up later!

Winter Wonderland .... Give it a Vintage look.

Hi everyone!

It's Friday again which means another Winter Wonderland challenge.  The lovely Janet is host this week with the theme 'Give it a Vintage Look'.  Oh, I love it .... a wonderful opportunity to get out my distressing inks and tool.  And I treated myself to some of the Tim Holtz's christmas stamps!

I stamped this image with Rich Cocoa and distressed all the edges and added some Tea Dye ink to enhance the distressing.  The paper is Graphic 45 which I absolutely adore - wow, they do such an amazing range of vintage papers don't they!  The pearly snowflakes are a recent purchase from a local craft store and I just couldn't resist them (oh boy, that seems to happen a lot!).  The 'flower' was a strip of cardstock which I distressed then spritzed with water and just twisted round into a circle.  I flattened it out and glued it together and added a pearl for the center - an easy handmade distressed flower!  Lace & pearls are from my stash.  The ticket is also Tim Holtz.

Terri's Delicious Doodles is sponsoring another fabulous prize for this weeks challenge.  I hope you're able to join in and add another Christmas card to your growing pile!!  These weeks sure are counting down fast!

Thanks for stopping in again today - I truly appreciate your visits and comments!  I have a busy weekend coming up with the family including zip lining tomorrow and a crafty card-making day all day Sunday with my mom!!

I'll be back later to post more details about PaperWorksCo new RAM stamp release party tonight ... CAN'T WAIT!!!

Colouring in Grays

Hello!

Welcome to my Thursday 'Free for All' posting for PaperWorksCo.  I had initially done my first copic colouring in grays video tutorial but for some reason couldn't get it to compress into a small enough file to blog.  :(

So instead, I have the finished image 'Happy Owl-O-Ween' coloured in grays and made into a card.  I used all the tones of cool grays C1,3,5,7,9 to colour in this image.  I'm really happy with the way it turned out too!

I used a pale cream yellow cardstock embossed with the cuttlebug circles folder to mimic the moon.  The rest of the layout is pretty simple and the main image was die cut using a Nellie Snellen die.

Thanks for stopping by today ... once again I feel like I'm chasing my tail and have not had any time to do some blog commenting.  I do apologise and hope I can catch up with you all soon.

Hope you all have a great day!

Winter Wonderland - Jesus is the Reason for the Season

Hello friends!

Welcome to another Winter Wonderland challenge today where I'm hosting this weeks theme of 'Jesus is the Reason for the Season'.

Whilst I absolutely adore snowmen and santas I always make cards that, for me, reflect the true reason of Christmas - Jesus.  And this gorgeous image fell through my letterbox this past week from a very sweet and wonderful blogging friend (you know who you are)!  It is a perfect fit for this weeks theme so I didn't have to think twice about pulling out my copics and get my colouring under way.  The sketch is from this weeks Sketch Saturday so I'll also be entering my card in there.  Stamp Something has a theme of 'Something Punchy' so my card can be entered in there too.

You may also notice the circle die is new too (thanks to my mom - she brought me some beautiful Nellie Snellen die cuts - aren't I lucky??).  I had to cut this one in half to make it work around this image but I like how it's turned out.

Well, I hope you're able to join in the fun at Winter Wonderland this week - the challenge is being hosted by I Did It Creations so a fab prize is up for grabs!

It is Thanksgiving here in Canada this weekend so today I'm taking a down day with my family as the boys have a 4 day weekend and we're going to relax.  On Sunday we'll be hosting a dinner for 13 people which is going to be a lot of fun but I need a quiet day to get myself ready, haha!!!

Enjoy your Friday everyone and I have my cup of coffee in hand ready to go and do some well-needed blog hopping!!

Hugs,

Happy Owl-O-Ween!

Hello!

Welcome to my PaperWorksCo posting - you will be seeing me every Thursday during the month of October for a 'Free for All' post.

With Halloween just around the corner I had this idea of using this gorgeous Rachelle Anne Miller image within the context of a luminaria.  I found the luminaria tutorial over at SCS here and I altered some of the measurements to adapt it to this project.  The circles were cut out using nesties and the image is coloured with copics and cut out.  I adhered vellum behind the circle to mimic the moon.  I placed the image over the 'moon'.  I used the MS fence punch in orange cardstock and cut one for each of the four panels.  The remaining 3 panels have a teeny tiny bat which my mother painstakingly cut out for me!!

A side view of the luminaria.  I also created the 'roof' myself as I wanted to finish the luminaria off with a bird house effect.  It was also the perfect spot to place the sentiment!

Here's the finished luminaria in the dark with the battery-operated tealight candle placed inside - doesn't it look fabulous!  My boys were so excited to see this finished project so I know this will definitely be lighting up our dinner table until Halloween!

All papers and the RAM image are available from PaperWorksCo - be sure to pop over and check out Peggy's store.  I believe she also has copics on special right now at 15% off making them only CAN$5.50 - WOW! - what a bargain!!  Hurry on over ... those prices won't last for long!!

Well, thanks for stopping by today and paying me a visit.  I apologise for being a really slack blogger lately - it's difficult to spend time blog hopping and commenting when I have visitors here.  I am looking through my favourite blogs when I get a chance but please bear with me if I'm not as frequent a visitor as I should be!  Hopefully normal service will resume soon, hee hee!  With that said, I really do appreciate every comment that is left and thank you for your continued support and appreciation of my blog!  You guys are the best!

Winter Wonderland - A Male Card

Hi there!

Thanks for stopping in at my blog today ... it's great to see you here!  I have my DT card for the Winter Wonderland challenge to show you.  Lynsey is hosting this week and has challenged us all to create a christmas card for a male.  Mmm, this one got me thinking!!!

I decided to pull my Cricut out and found this adorable toy soldier on the Joys of the Season cartridge.  What a great image for a little boys card don't you think?  The papers are Bo Bunny and I used the MS zigzag border punch.  The sentiment is SU!

I hope you're able to pop over to the Winter Wonderland blog and join in our challenge this week.  We're being sponsored by Digi Doodle Shop and you could win $10 to spend in their store!  Besides, remember you'll be adding to your christmas card stash too!

This is a quick posting as I'm busy with my family visiting right now. We're having a fabulous time catching up and spending quality time together. The boys are loving having their grandparents and uncle here - it's such a special time! So please accept my apologies if I seem very absent around blogland at the moment!

Thanks once again for your visit today and I really appreciate any comments that you may leave!  Have a fantastic Friday and start to the weekend!

Miss Gadget Gears - SS#52

Happy Sunday!

So glad you could pop by today and visit me!  I have a card today for PaperWorksCo Sunday Sketch #52.  This is already my last sketch for September ... wow, those Sundays sure went by fast!

So this is SS#52 this week.  I had the idea for my card come to me whilst I was going to sleep one night ... isn't it funny when and where we get our inspiration!!  It's a good thing I remembered it in the morning!   I wanted to use the gadget gears die cut by Tim Holtz and thought it would work for this sketch.  I've also used quite pastel and feminine colours as I wanted to show that robots are not just all about boys but also work beautifully for girl cards!

The oval is embossed with the new robot embossing folder set from cuttlebug and the back panel is punched using a new MS 'Bubble Bath' punch around the page set.  The dp is from Cosmo Cricket 'Cogsmo'.  Peppy Tinheart is coloured with copics and I cut her out.  I punched a flower using the small retro flower punch and adhered it with a piece of silver wire.

I hope you're able to pop on over to PaperWorksCo blog and check out the sketch in more detail and don't forget if you enter your sketch you are up for a chance of designing for the following week and also receiving a small gift from Peggy's store!

It was great seeing you here today ... I hope I get some time to blog hop a little later.  I still have some more organising and cleaning to do before my folks arrive!  Enjoy your Sunday whatever you're doing!

Ballerina Tilda 2 drawer easel card!

Hi there!

I just wanted to share a girly project with you that I gifted my next door neighbour for her 11th birthday.  I have been wanting to try this idea for a little while now and I knew I had to use Ballerina Tilda.  I followed the basic idea for the box over at SCS here.  I customised the measurements to fit my square card.  Tilda is coloured with copics.  I threaded pink ribbon to mimic her ballet shoe ribbons and added lots of flowers, sparkle and pearls.  The paper I believe is DCWV.  The drawer handles are Tim Holtz's hitch fasteners - love these!!  I am entering this card/project into Charisma Cardz Challenge  and A Spoonfull of Sugar this week where they both have the challenge 'Anything Goes'.

Here's a close-up of the main image.

The sentiment is from The Stamp Barn - isn't it gorgeous!

A quick update with regards to my son - he had blood work done to test for an overactive thyroid as he is currently suffering from hair loss (he is only 8).  Thankfully his blood is perfectly normal and there are no thyroid issues which is fantastic news and we're now on anti-fungal cream for his balding patches.  Hopefully that will work before it gets any worse.  Phew, it's been a rough ride for him the last little while so I really hope and pray things start settling down.  Thanks for all your concerned comments ... they really mean a lot to me.

Well, that's all for today friends.  I hope you enjoyed my very 'pink' project!  I always appreciate your visit and your comments so thank you as always!

Take care,
Danielle x
