Just Magnolia Sketch and a Porcupine!!

Good day all!
What an exciting start to our day - we had a porcupine climbing up our front tree!! The boys were super excited and I have to say I was too as I've never seen one before. I hope you enjoy the photo I've posted!

Anyways, on to today's card. I've been working on this for the last 3-4 days - I'm doing a little bit each day when I can snatch a minute or two, lol!! I've used the Just Magnolia sketch for this weeks challenge. I chose these colours to work with as I made a purchase of some individual prisma pencils and the aqua and lavender colours were ones I had wanted to get my hands on! I pretty much followed the sketch although I moved the sentiment slightly to the side as it looked better on my card! I used the gorgeous EK Success 'Parisian' border punch and also Fiskars Apron Lace. I used Blue Skies Glimmer mist spray on some plain white flowers and added a collage prima flower just under the bow. Sewing and circle nesties were also used.
Thanks for coming by today and leaving a comment. Always much appreciated and hopefully I'll get a little crafting time in this afternoon - it's rather rainy and overcast today. We're just back from strawberry picking so I'm off to tuck into some freshly picked strawberries and cream and watch a little bit of Wimbledon - perfect combination, lol!!!

Working with Prismacolour Pencils

Good Monday morning all!
Wow, what an extremely busy weekend we've had at the Softball Diamond with my eldest son - he made it to the finals in his tournament play-offs and although they played really well were the runners-up! No stamping time for me at all these past few days.
However, I'm posting up the images I coloured on the notepads I did for the boys' teachers. I've recently expanded my collection of Prisma pencils so have been playing around with them a lot on my last few images. I love working with them and am starting to get the feel of blending and shading! The work I see on other blogs with these pencils is so inspiring to me and I love just being able to play around with so many different types of colouring mediums!

I hope you're all enjoying a fabulous day. Thanks for popping over today and taking the time to look at my post and leave a comment - your words are always so much appreciated! Until next time .....!

Fisherman Ian - A Birthday card

Hi there!
Phew, well summer certainly seems to have arrived - it's incredibly hot and humid today and my boys are soooooo happy it's the last day of school!!!
I needed to make a fishing themed birthday card for a friend and I had this cute Greeting Farm stamped image of Fishing Ian - he's just too adorable!! The card is pretty plain and simple - always hard to 'fluff' guy cards up, lol!!! I coloured the image using my copics and I found these cute fishing embellishments in my stash. Some twine behind the 'Gone Fishin' ' sign adds some final detail.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you all get to enjoy this glorious day!

Cupcake Bella

Hi there!
Thankfully blogger seems to be a little better so I've managed to post this and do a bit of blog-hopping and commenting. Fingers crossed it keeps up!
This is a card I was asked to make for a friend. Her niece was graduating from music college and she wanted a card to incorporate that and her birthday. I thought this Bella worked perfectly as a celebration card and I used the whimsy musical staff up in the corner. I love the colour combo and polka dots on the paper. I coloured her with my prisma pencils.
Here's a quick view of the inside - pretty plain but I ran the musical staff through the middle of the nestie square.
Thanks for stopping by today and leaving a comment. With the boys almost out of school and the summer weather finally arriving in Ottawa, my posts will be on a decline for a while. I will endeavour to craft as much as I can but I'm looking forward to spending quality time with my boys. I have a crafting buddy coming over today so hopefully we can get some fun inky time in together!
Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Penny Black - Anniversary Card

Happy Friday everyone!
I hope today finds you all well and enjoying your day! An anniversary card was on my to-do list so I used these ever-so-cute Penny Black mice - aren't they adorable hugging together under that daisy!!! I've finally decided to bite the bullet and play more with my Prismacolour pencils after seeing such gorgeous colouring out there with them in blogland! And I have to say I LOVE THEM!! They are so fun to colour with and I'm really loving the results they give! It's great to have so many different colouring options available - I love the variety!!
Anyways, onto the card ........I used the gorgeous BG Wisteria papers. The layout is pretty simple but I love how it all works together so nicely. The flourish is a Bosskut die cut and I used a Prima flower with spacer and brad. The sentiment is from stash and I used three pale lavender pearls above to give the finished look. Cream organza ribbon runs behind the image (a little difficult to see in the photo).
Thanks for taking the time to come by today and leave a comment - your visits are always so much appreciated! I wish you all a beautiful start to the weekend with lots of sunshine and love!

More altered note pads ....

Hi there!
It's been a busy couple of days .....unfortunately not too much time to make any challenge cards as I've been fulfilling some card orders and requests for these note pads! They've been really popular with my friends and I've been making LOTS, besides what I still have yet to do for my own kids' teachers gifts, lol!!!
So, this is just a quick post to show you what I've been up to - each one is totally different from the next. I coloured both these Tildas with copics.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by today! I hope I can get some challenge cards done and be able to post up within the next day or so. We have been enjoying glorious sunshine but the weather man is saying rain for the next 4 days - I so hope he's wrong, lol!!!
Hugs,
Edit: I'm posting a view of the inside of the notepads as requested by my mother!!

Friday Sketchers - Baby Card

Happy Monday everyone!
Yay - my husband comes home today after his 2wk business trip! It has been a long 2 weeks so can't wait .....
This gorgeous baby stamp arrived in my Stamping Bella parcel on Friday - isn't it adorable!! I decided to use the Friday Sketchers layout as it worked perfectly for this image. I coloured the image with my copics (some new colours that arrived from Stamping Bella too). I punched out a big retro flower on some pink mulberry paper and slipped it behind the prima flowers. The swiss dots cb folder complements the green polka dot paper. The sentiment is Studio G. Ribbon and pearls finish off the delicate look to the girly baby card. Hope you like it!
Thanks for stopping by and if you haven't checked out the Friday Sketchers be sure to hop on over here as they have such inspirational sketches to play with!
Hope you're all enjoying a wonderful day.....

It's another boy birthday card - and I won the Magnolia Down Under Challenge!!

Happy Sunday everyone!
I had such a quiet night last night as 2 of my 3 boys were at sleepovers!!  And this morning my 3 yr old is off to a birthday party which is a pancake breakfast, yum!!  And to make my day an even happier one I just saw I won the Magnolia Down Under Challenge - 'Moving to the Country'!!  I'm so thrilled - woohoo!!  Another birthday party means of course another boy birthday card.  I so love this High Hopes stamp and I'm certainly putting it to good use!
I decided to colour the image this time with copics and I just love the result.  The colours are so beautifully vivid and I'm finally starting to 'understand' more how to use them with regards to shading etc.  This card is pretty simple in design as I didn't have a lot of time to put it together. The back panel is cb embossed with the argyle folder and the image is cut out on the nesties. Punched photo corners, birthday sentiment and little wooden buttons with blue thread through them are my 'boy' embellishments!!  No flowers on here .....
I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday and enjoying whatever joys the day brings. Thanks for stopping by and for all your beautiful comments!

A butterfly flies beside us .....

Good Saturday morning all!
Well, I am feeling worlds better and back to my normal self.  Thank you so much to everyone who left such sweet wishes - your messages really touched me!
I was asked to make another one of these butterfly wall hangings for a friend.  I used a blank artist canvas and covered it with scrapbook paper.  I was told purple was a favourite colour so I went with that.  I coloured the butterfly with my Tombow markers and airbrushed the background. (Apologies for the wonky photo!!).

Here's a close-up of the butterfly.  I used a gemstone swirl for the butterfly trail which I really love!  The random butterflies are from my MS punch - the plain pink ones I ran through the swiss dots cb embossing folder to add some detail.  Paper flowers, MS branch punch and ribbon finish off the piece.  Here's a close-up of the verse - I just love these words.

Thanks for stopping by today and visiting me!  Your comments are always so much appreciated. I'm off to blog-hop for a bit and catch up on some commenting and see what wonderful things all you crafting friends have been up to!  Hope you all enjoy a fabulous day!

A migraine day!

Hi everyone
Apologies for no new posts - I hope I can post something up for tomorrow.  Today has been a complete write-off having spent two-thirds of it lying on the couch with a stinking migraine.  It has been a worse one than normal which has had me throwing up and pretty much incapable of doing anything!  I hate days like this but hopefully I'll be back on track for tomorrow ....
Hugs to you all,

Just Magnolia Sketch

Hi all!
It's a pretty miserable day here today - rainy & cold - so I have no excuse to avoid my cleaning, lol!! That is something I don't enjoy doing as there are so many other things I could be doing with my time, no guesses as to what!!!
However, I did manage some inky time yesterday afternoon and I got to do the Just Magnolia sketch challenge this week and what a fun one it was!  I used this new Tilda image, Swinging Tilda, and used some scrumptious new (to me) BG Eva papers which I just received. I coloured Tilda with Distress Inks and Tombow markers and also distressed the nestie circle with Aged Mahogany.
My wonderful generous mum sent me some gorgeous spacers which I received in the mail last week.  This is the first card I've used them on - I just love them!! The MS branch punch, ribbons and pearls finish up the card.  I moved the sentiment from the right to the left as I ran out of room on the other side!!
I also finished the inside and here is a little peek.  Pretty simple but I don't want to overdo it!
I hope the sun is shining for you where you are! I'm ready for summer to come and stay for a good long visit, not just a fleeting one!  Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you like what you see.
Take care, hugs

My last Tilda card for my Magnolia Class

Hi everyone!
Kinda glad it's Monday and the boys are back at school - it was a busy weekend and without hubby here I just didn't get a break to stamp at all :(  Ah well, this afternoon hopefully when my little guy is at Nursery School.
I completed the trio of Tilda cards though for my Magnolia class at Heather's and this is the final one. I used giggling Tilda sitting on the cupcake.  I coloured the images with Distressing Inks and Tombow markers on watercolour paper.  The cupcake frosting is 'glazed' with glossy accents although you can't see too much of it!  I paper pleated the middle panel to add some technique into the card.  The back stamp is a solid from one of the sets from The Stamp Barn. It makes a nice change to use some stamps and create my own backgrounds rather than relying on the beautiful papers all the time!
The clear organza ribbon down the middle panel and gem stones in each corner give the finishing touches to the card.  As you know I don't often use yellow, I tend to shy away from it as it's not a favourite colour of mine.  So, I'm still sitting on the fence about this card but I think it's more to do with the yellow in it rather than anything else, lol!!
Thanks for coming by and paying me a visit.  Hope you're enjoying your day whatever you're doing!

Stamp Barn cards

Happy Sunday!
I hope you are all well and enjoying your day.  I have some cards that I've put together using some stamps from The Stamp Barn .  The stair step card above uses stamps from one set - the flowers and grass really caught my eye.  I love making these cards as you can really utilise so many stamps on one project.  I distressed the edges of the paper as I wanted to create a shabby chic look/feel to this card.  Images are coloured with my Tombow markers.
Next, I finally tried one of these flower pot cards and they are so super easy and fun to do.  The pot is stamped with a Stamp Barn stamp as are both sentiments.  The flowers are from my Prima stash.  I need to find the right 'flower' stamp to create this card again without using primas!

So there you have it for today!  Just some fun projects to share.  Hopefully I'll get some time today to get some challenge cards done!  I had a super busy day yesterday with my boys so today is definitely going to be a more relaxing one!!
Thanks for visiting me today - I love seeing you here!  Enjoy your Sunday!

Friday Sketchers Challenge - Tilda picking flowers

Happy Saturday everyone!
Here's my card for the Friday Sketchers challenge - what a wonderful sketch to play with!  I've used my new Tilda picking flowers stamp which I coloured with my copics and trimmed out. Papers are from my new BG Wisteria pack which I'm using for the first time - just love them!! The corner scroll is a Bosskut die cut.
I've also included a pic of the inside which I finished.  I carried the layout through but just reversed it so it would add some balance when you open the card.  I will most likely add a circle sentiment to the top left corner when I package this up to sell.
Thanks for stopping by today - I hope you enjoyed your visit and my post!  I hope you have a wonderful day filled with lots of sunshine!

Tilda in Enchanted Hollow!

Good Friday morning to you all!
Yeah - it's Friday!  I hope you're all enjoying that Friday feeling and looking forward to the weekend!
This is another card I've put together for my Magnolia class at Heather's on June 20th.  The Tilda is a new stamp to my collection and is the sweet Tilda picking flowers - but on this card I cut out the flowers and had her picking mushrooms from Heather's own line of stamps - the beautiful new collection named Enchanted Hollow.  Now, I don't want you thinking I have Tilda picking magic mushrooms or anything, but rather that she is an 'angel' herself and is picking these for the magical unicorn on Enchanted Hollow - Morning Star (she's in a previous post). That's my story anyway and I'm sticking to it, lol!!!
The 'stars' are a fab little stamp from The Stamp Barn which work so brilliantly as a 'filler' image - snowflakes, stars, fairy dust - whatever your creativity wants it to be!!  I sponged the background with pale blue chalk ink and soft pink.  I wanted to create a very ethereal feel to the card and added lots of stickles and gemstones to help achieve this look.  What do you think ? Some ribbon off to the side of the card and it is finished.  It's a very simple design but I wanted to scene to speak for itself.
Well, thanks for your visit today and your much appreciated comments.  I love reading them so thank  you!  I wish you all a wonderful day!

Tilda with Lilacs

Good morning all!
Well, the sun is shining again today so it looks like it's going to be another beautiful day here - yay for Ontario!!
I'm putting 3 Magnolia cards together for an upcoming class at Heather's on June 20th.  This is the beautiful Tilda with lilacs.  I used flower soft on the lilacs and coloured Tilda in Tombow markers.  To make this card different though I've used a new card fold (to me anyway).  I love how this sits up - you do need to use a fairly decent weight cardstock to make sure it sits up nicely though!
The back panel is cuttlebug embossed and I used some border peel-offs to frame the panel.  I confess to not being a big fan of peel-offs but I don't mind using them in this way.
Well, just a short post today as I need to get my day going here.  Thanks for coming by - you know I love your visits!!
Have a great day!

Pink & Brown Wedding

Good morning all!
At last we have blue skies and sunshine today after a week of rain and overcast days.  I hope it lasts!!  Today I have a wedding card to show you which I was asked to do.  The wedding colours are pink and brown and so was asked to stay with this colour scheme - no problem - it's a favourite colour combo of mine!
The back panel is embossed with the floral fantasy cb embossing folder and the focal image is from Inkadinkado.  I added some diamond stickles to the glasses of pink champagne!  Pink Prima flowers and the MS branch punch finish this card off.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek today!  I love reading your comments so don't be shy if you're visiting my blog for the first time - I'd love to hear from you!

Country Tilda!

Hey there!
The challenge over at Magnolia Down Under this week is 'Move to the Country' and when I think country I picture all the wonderful homemade pies and cooking!  I had this adorable little country pantry shelf stamp from The Stamp Barn which I thought would work perfectly with this cute little Tilda in her head scarf.  She's just back from strawberry picking and getting ready to add to her pantry, lol!!
I took my square punch and punched out these dp squares and zigzag sewed them together to create a country quilt feel.  I love the result - and the gingham paper is so perfect for this card!  I just added some prima flowers either side of her and we're done!  Tilda is coloured with my Tombow markers as is the pantry shelf. The papers are from stash but the back panel is K&Co.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting today.  My hubby just left on a 2wk business trip to Europe so hopefully that means I can get in plenty of inking time during the evenings as I have only myself to keep happy once the kids are in bed!!
Hope you all have a beautiful day today - I hope the sun keeps shining for us!
